With it, promotions and pay rises become so much easier. Without it, you never get recognised for your contributions and rarely get the career success you want. But how do you know if you have executive presence? Do YOU really have executive presence or are you fooling yourself?
You might hope that people see you as confident or charismatic. You might hope that people see you as a leader or an executive. But do they? In this video, you will find out! I guide you through four ways you can identify if you have executive presence, or not.

Should the executive presence be based on original oneself or an adopted artificial impression?

Based on your original self or on what you aspire to be. If it's too far from who you really are, you won't be able to keep it up.

Its more to it. A person has to want to respect you and this is established by being likeable to someone who is receptive of what you have to offer. Its very similar to dating. If someone is not interested in what you can offer then they won't necessarily see you as a commanding presence. They may decide you're arrogant or a fake or whatever. And their opinion would be valid because that's their perception.

Likeability definitely plays a part in helping people respond to your "presence".

the problem lies with the individual that has no interest, when you're at an executive level, feelings dont follow you to the office, executing responsibilities are prior than to give thought about what others think. perceptions need to be from a collective to have any concrete validation. Build your character according to ypur designation and then some. If you want to be liked, go sell ice cream.

@@nazirahmandarfan1881 I don't care to be liked in fact I hate people so it's mutual. However in terms of workplace success, It's my observation that likeable people are more successful than non likeable people. You can't argue with that.

I have been labeled as intimidating, difficult, argumentative...and why.. because i ask the question why, because i hold people accountable.. i watched a doco about why people dont want to be managers, and its because its no longer worth the pain and compromise of values.
