Betty is seriously so impressive! We can't believe you left Baja for that much snow, yucky! Drone footage hit the feels.

Great video, appreciate you show us how your nice truck is off roading in the snow it’s absolutely amazing for all of us owning a 4x2 and not taking snow roads just because we think we could get stuck, I’ll be more comfortable the next time I see snow, keep roading guys!!

Incredibly beautiful, thanks for sharing! I agree that 4x4 can get you into plenty of beautiful spots, but often times Mother Nature simply says " not today." Safe travels!!

Yep! Agreed, I say often that 2WD keeps me out of the kind of trouble that you need 4WD for. Thanks for watching, Jackie!

Some people have said of Ansel Adams' photographs that he wasn't capturing the landscapes as much as he was capturing the clouds. The last two minutes of your video reminded me of that. Well done.

That ain’t snow! NW Wisconsin here. Hilly & curvy. But our summers are hard to beat if you get the notion. Great bike trails & lakes. That said, that snow IS uncleared, unsalted, & compressed into ice. I don’t envy you that drive. AWD version of the van looking attractive.
@WeldtecDesigns Жыл бұрын
Most 4x4 vans are ony 2wd. 1 rear and 1 front wheel drive. Add a rear Air locker and you will be really surprised at what a difference it makes...
@SlowRoamers Жыл бұрын
Ha! Ain’t that the truth. The locker is an incoming upgrade that we want to do. It’ll just be done when we regear the van.
@OIllllO2 ай бұрын
While a locked 2wd is better than an open dif 2wd an open dif 4wd still has the advantages over either.

So a couple of things I wanted to comment and share with you. First off I fully respect & understand your decision to NOT name some of the places you visit so as to possibly not add to the issues already at play. I can’t tell you how bummed out I get when arrive at a spot I used to go to as a young man and see it blocked off due to overcrowding or worse, vandalism and trash left by some. Also I appreciate the video about your 2wd Van experience. I own a 2WD Ram 3500 Diesel Dually, am an explorer/adventurer myself. I’m currently researching the use of 2WD vs 4WD for light to moderate off road overland experiences. Thanks for sharing and keep on “trucking” and staying curious you two!!!! ✌🏽🇺🇸🙏

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. Some people frown on gate keeping which makes me appreciate those who understand why I do it. As for 4wd vs 2wd, there’s quite a few upsides to a 2wd if you’re willing to have an open mind about it. We certainly would like to have the capabilities of 4x4, but as I’m holding to, we don’t NEED them. Thanks for watching, we’ve got loads of adventures to bring you along on. ✌🏼

I have anxiety just thinking about 2x drive in snow from my own experience. My next vehicle must be a 4X4. Happy travels!

A 4x4 might bring you to places, when stuck, no one can come to rescue you. Sometimes a 4x2 won’t bring you in such difficult situations. 😂

Love that door latch for the stove on top of your van did you make that or did you buy it from a manufacturer. Great video!!! from another 2WD f150 future camper. You need chains....lol

It’s a Swiss company called Tiny Stove, same business that made our wood stove. I’ve had a lot of people say to get chains. I believe them, but I’m not gonna carry chains.🤣

When you're some places you need 4wd you need 4wd. Our XJ or SB Burb couldn't go half the places they do if they were not 4wd and our 87 E250 could go more places if it was 4wd.
