I've been a professional mechanic over 40 years and built quite a few cars in that time, I have to say if you were a bit closer I would not hesitate to buy this car from you and finish it on my channel! But getting it to Florida would probably be a big bundle of money? Of course that's if Milton the Hurricane leaves anything behind when he's gone. He apparently wants his stapler.

My wife's dream car has always been a 57 Chevy. I'm more of a 55 guy myself. But I was telling her that if she wanted to turn the dream into reality... This is the way to go. I old her "Start with a rat rod then go from there" It's all about driving them, not just sitting around looking at them. So if she's rough around the edges the lees afraid you are of driving it. :)

You know--when they put those cars together originally, they were probably worse looking until they had to work their magic just like you do! They just had a lot more money and access to a lot more parts and whatever they needed! I think when you do yours, a little more common sense is used than what they did! For instance---they used a lot of lead whereas you use more weld than they do! I'll bet they have a poo load of fender shims and fender bolts and screws! It looks good! It does take time and patience to convert these cars, and you do fine work---don't let anyone shake your tree! There are always people out there who don't like this or that! Who needs them! Keep up the good work!

Dan.....question? Have you seen anybody on a 4 door Tri- five conversion keep the original front door and weld in the back door then remove the small back window post and install a longer quarter window. I haven't seen this done but it appears to be alot simplier and would certainly result in a unique look on a tri-five chevy.....what do you think of this concept?

Now that you have that roomy new shop, perhaps it would be advisable to clear the floor between where you're working and where your tools are. I don't understand how you walk around and step over your floor jack and that black front car seat, instead of shoving them out of your path. You have empty space under the stairs to put them & keep them from being underfoot.

Out of curiousity, would it be easier to slide the panel back and tack it to the quarter. Then mark the edge of the trim panel on the "new" quarter and cut that, since the trim piece is already flush with the front door skin? Enjoying the content. Did you see the 57 Mortske had on today? Wow, that thing was bad. lol
