Question after doing replacing the fuel pump, what if it leaks in the from the top after filling up? Do I need to go back and slightly tighten the bolts on the pump? Its not leaking from the grommet its leaking from the middle of the tank.

My car has several things wrong with it that can kill me but unfortunately I have to wait 10 days so the ministry can call me to book an appointment for an officer to look at it. The dealer sold me a totalled car. Covered up a rotten subframe with rubberized coating so he didn't have to replace it. Play in the left tie rod which is part of the safety. The day I drove the car off the lot I wasn't sure if I was going to make it home alive because the steering wheel was being yanked in different directions, confirmed by my mechanic that not only was the steering wheel off center but the ball joints and control arms would need to be fixed before an alignment could even be performedor it would be sent back. The timing chain needs to be fixed, if it breaks while I'm driving it the engine is totalled. When I make right hand turns my dome lights come on so I'm not sure if there's problems with the wiring. I noticed a leak under the vehicle and when I go up to my car I can smell gasoline while it's parked so there's a fuel leak somewhere. And God only knows what else is wrong with it. Those are only the things I know about that have been confirmed by mechanics.

Yes very important to find and fix the fuel leak immediately. I had a 68 Buick Riviera that had a small fuel leak at the carburetor. It erupted. I turned the car off. However, the fire melted the writing harness causing the starter to crank the engine and spray more fuel on the fire. Bottom line the car was a total loss.

My 2017 grand jeep cherokee limited had gas fumes inside all the time after starting it up. After 2 months the jeep dealership found it was the fuel rail ends leaking. They replaced it and my gas tank with a new gas line because the gas nozzle kept clicking off while trying to put in gas. So far so good.

Got in my Honda CR-V and headed to garbage dump. Tank was almost full. Started smelling gas 2 minutes into drive but no indicator was lit up on dash for engine light ie gas cap. Car sits in driveway as a barely used car. The smell of gas was getting stronger but I figured maybe it was because it hasn’t been driven in over 4 weeks. Drop off garbage about 12 minutes into the drive and noticed I was almost to half a tank of gas left so then I thought to myself the gas cap has to be loose or completely off but kept driving home. About 5 minutes away from home I noticed I was down to a quarter tank of gas so new I just lost 3 quarters of gas in just 18 mins. I pulled over to check gas cap but it was good then I noticed a water pouring onto the ground noise and looked under car just in front of of rear driver side wheel and saw gas dripping down almost pouring amount below gas tank. So I finished heading home which by the time I pulled into driveway I was almost on empty. Google and KZbin searches showed either fuel pump or faulty fuel lines. Some states over a thousand dollars of repair. I wanna fix this myself but don’t know how to. Help needed on diagnosis and fix for driveway fix!

Ford taurus 2011-2019 top of fuel pump on tank under the rear seat. Metal retaining rings rusted built up rust put pressure on both fuel pumps/sending.. cracking the plastic .. causing leaks when tank full or agressive driving fuel sloshing around. New fuel pumps and new retaining rings. Spray new metal with paint or rust inhibitor

Great video. We had everything checked by a mechanic can’t seem to find anything in the fuel leakage anywhere. The only thing mention was possibly checking both fuel tanks from the inside. Trying to figure out how to go through the backseat to get to them 2009 Hyundai genesis. Any tips ?

My wife's perodua myvi/daihatsu m100 has petrol smell. I was actually looking at the condenser for cleaning up, the workshop manual isn't thorough at some parts. There's also fuel smell every time she fill up petroleum. Another uncomfortable smell when she starts the car.

I hear of a vehicle catching fire about twice a month around my area and figure this is what probably happened. Oops I smelled gas but kept on driving it. My 2007 Subaru Forester is currently parked until I can check it out. Plugs, wires, and air filter recently changed; but a couple days ago I noticed the gas gauge is dropping too fast. Car is running good so I figure it's leaking gas somewhere.

My truck sat up for a year. Put in 5 gallons of gas cause the tank was myseriously bone dry. Truck started and over a 3 day period, i'd go out and let the truck warm up. I let it set there for over a week and noe the truck isn't starting and the guage is now below the E. In driving the truck I can see how those o-rings could let gas escape - but the truck just sitting there? Do all the places you're saying to look apply to a truck that's not being driven? Thanks

When you remove the lower o ring, you have to pull it over that disc looking thing, what if that's cracked or a piece of it is missing? Would that affect anything or is it just there to hold the o ring in place so it doesn't fall off when you hold the injector downward?

I have a 2010 Chevy Suburban and no one can answer my question nor can I find a KZbin video. About 3 months ago I changed a fuse and forgot to cover it back. It got wet and the car started to idle rough. Then I had a fire at the exhaust pipe. I ended up changing the whole fuse box to be sure and noticed that fuel was coming out of the muffler very heavy and most likely why it caught fire in that same area. I put the code reader on it and it said P0201, 0203, 0204, 0206, and 0208 fuel injector misfire. Now I don't know if all of those injectors went bad because of the short circuit of the fuse box? Maybe damaged the line but it's dumping fuel out of the exhaust tail pipe. I am 60 years old with troat cancer with gas prices so high and the risk of fire I do not drive it and have no way to make it to doctors appointments and need your help so badly. I buy a lot of parts from you guys. What do you think it could be?

I have a 2008 Kia Rio 5 and if I put more than $15-$20. (1/2) I smell gas. I had a 2009 Kia Rio 5 that also had a leaky gas tank and I replaced it with a used gas tank, but it also leaked. I think this leaky gas tank is an issue with Kia and I think they should fix it. I was told it will cost $1115. to put in a new tank and a gas pump including labour.

I have been watching ur videos on fuel systems all day My problem is I have a 2004 Chevy Blazer and I got it running to change the fuel pump twice change fuel filter the town strap sensor the crankshaft center spark plugs naughty audiat it ran until I went through a car wash I went through the car wash got the undercarriage washed and then my car when I was leak or truck what I was leaving blah blah blah and stopped and it started once more drove perfectly and then I smelled some gas and it once again it stopped blah blah and it didn't start hasn't started since now I can't get fuel to my fuel the fuel pump we tested outside of the vehicle it work inside the vehicle it didn't I was wondering should help me out with my problem or at least give me some pointers I'm a female of a lot kids love working on my car but it cannot figure this one out if you could help thank you

I have a Saturn Ion that developed a fuel leak. Could smell gasoline near the rear driver's side wheel only when the engine was off. No visible fuel, just odor. Question, so I smell gasoline when am driving the highway but not when am in the regular streets, I thought it was a car infront of me but when I got to my house I still smelled the gas by where I put gas, also the gas cap looks like it has gasoline around it, almost like it's jumping out or something, please dont make fun of me 🤦‍♀️I did change it but the new gas cap and still looks the same, i do have my check engine light on, when I went to advance auto they gave me a code PO456, so any tips

I need help with my car I looked at everything on it fuses fuel pump fuel lines everything for the last couple of weeks my car has been idling rough when I go to match the gas it would sometimes die last night all it would do was crank would not start I looked for the problem and my someone has had loose to the bolts on my distributor the distributor is only hanging by the wires there's no nothing else holding it there both I guess I only came out yesterday would that make my car stall out when matching the gas and would it not start after a while and can it be fixed can I put my distributor back on there and run Right
