I need to find a new job, because my job is rigid, structured, and boring as hell and we have to meet all these deadlines on time, and I don't know if I can do it anymore, it's like I'm losing my soul, it's the best paying job I've ever had, but I dont like it and I can't feel like an individual. INFP tip: Stop wasting all your time and energy in the hope that someone you like or want to be liked by, will finally see you as you really are, and truly accept and love you. They. Are. Not. Worth. It. I wasted many years of my life before finally learning this. Please don’t waste yours. I was more aloof when I was younger, and found the constant and harsh judgements that people would make without even knowing me, absolutely crushing. I desperately wanted to be understood, and started bending over backwards to please people. You deserve to have people in your life that won’t leave you to make all the effort. People that will meet you halfway. That will give you the same benefit of the doubt that you give others and not rush to judgement. ♥️🙏🏼

I think the reasons why INFP hard to love are 1. As Fi-dominant user INFPs would look for a partner who is willing to go well with their moral values 2. Innocence of Si-child function, makes INFPs crave for deep value of love 3. Te-inferior makes INFPs set this very thick shell that makes them very picky to whom they will open up to. INFPs are really afraid that people will think badly of them. 4. The work of Ni-critical parent function makes INFPs not allowing themselves to want things because of an incident or two from the past 5. Se-trickster causes INFPs to not aware of what kind of experience they are giving to others, like acting awkward, or wearing funny clothes and we are judged heavily for that. As an INFP the above points are what I have learnt so far, we have so much obstacles dudes...

I feel like we have secret whirlwinds inside us, and it takes a lot of energy to keep them under control. I always feel a sense of sadness that once someone experiences that whirlwind, they’ll never see us the same way. It’s almost inevitable. We are basically gentle people I think but we can also be monsters in certain situations. It’s hard for us to just act nice and normal and I think most people just want someone who is nice and normal. At least this has been my experience ✌️

People say that I am "difficult to love", because I am really *intense* or *deslocated* - "out of touch with reality" and therefore sometimes insensitive, reserved and intimidating, but sometimes extremely sensitive in art per se, besides being fragile...something that they can't put in the same box, sadly.

If they cannot get a clear picture of you (well-nigh impossible with the INFP), they are going to make all sorts of assumptions about you, up to the point of writing you off as "too difficult to deal with".

Awesome vid Lex! I recently got out of a long-term relationship with a covert narcissist(beware, INFP's are prime narc bait! (he tested as an ISFJ, btw)) At first he adored every little thing about me but slowly and insidiously over time tried to make me feel 'less than' and useless and I was very worn down and anxiety-riddled at the end but he didn't take all of my life-force away, I had enough reserved resilience to leave finally leave him(although it was not easy). I've been healing very well and honestly don't think I'll ever get into another romantic relationship. I've had my children now and will never change myself or pretend to suit anyone else or fit in again, I've regained my inner strength and don't need anyone's approval! We are certainly enigmatic and complex to be sure, we're the softest, most sensitive type but if our core values and integrity are challenged, also the fiercest type! Good luck with the move! 9:39 I can confirm this. When I was chosing my first car people were advising me to buy something "usefull" and cheap. A car were there would be enough space and insurance not costing a leg. But I ignored all of that. I wanted a fast car. A car where I can feel the road. A car that would bring a smile to my face. A car the I will always look forward to drive. I ended buying a Miata. Its really fun to drive. But it also went against every advise. There is no space, to the point it almost become useless, and insurance is fricking high. But I love my miata. At the end I got the car I wanted, and it's all that matters.

Hey lex, one of the things people....most people dont seem to understand about us as infp's that supposedly makes us "hard to love" is we dont like intrusion....I know I simply cannot stand people who try and force themselves on me no matter how critical the objective or the situation is. I never start trusting someone until I know they respect boundaries. I guess we have an unbreakable energy field around us that keeps out the wrong type of people. See when something has to be forced that's a sign that they dont know what there doing...I personally have NEVER met anyone that is persistantly invasive that has ever turned out to be a good person. I think our line in the sand is a little bit further away but how that line is treated will determine whethet or not we're a tiger or a butterfly.

What's weird is that when people would ask me what I look for in a relationship, the only answer I would have is "I just want someone who can understand me and someone who can I can talk with," and they would always ask me why, but I never knew why myself. I've never really thought about what I look for in a partner, but after learning that I was an INFP, I slowly started to understand why.

As an infp with an entp be true to yourself but also be open to dif views, and put yourself in uncomfortable situations and challenge your fears bit by bit. I love my partner but he doesn't fully understand either but i am learning perhaps i don't fully understand him either. I get days still where i don't want to interact at all with anyone, moody, but another thing is try to set aside your emotions, i know kettle calling black, im working on it too, but getting the job done and learning to overcome your weaknesses make for a more functional relationship. Ive been told some harsh truths as infp, lazy, selfish, deluded, give up too easily, angry mf, and though it can sting once you except these defaults of an infp you can work on it. Ignorance is one for me. If something didnt go with what i believed i didnt want to hear about it, but growth only comes from listening rather then projecting opinions. And read more non fiction or subjects that will improve your current hangups like im very messy and disorganised with kids and dogs and house to run. While i was honoured to have such a role it takes a lot of personal responsibility something i still struggle with but learn about yourself and the areas and maybe get tips from those who excel in that area. Doing chunks of work in between relaxation helps productivity but changing gears from one to the other can be difficult as i can get in loops or ruts. Understanding yourself, all facets, particularly the ones you don't want to admit to yourself, will make you understand others better and that while you may consider them this and that they have hang ups just like you only different which we make consider insensitive or arrogant or even narcissistic but in the end strength will come from all the tough times but you got to be able to withstand the storm and not hide while it brews. Gain them scars, gain those hardships and be stronger for it then write write write and read read read but make sure you experiment and interact with people. I used to look down all the time, now while i still suffer anxiety, i can go out and not necessarily have that deep compulsion to not look people in the eyes or smile or speak up. Our voices are only as timid and unheard as we make it. You want your opinion to matter stop dribbling crap and read up so when your voicing yourself to be that teacher and wise person it comes from truth not just an idealised idea in your head plus personal experiences are a must. Don't be couch potato for too long. I was for 20 odd years before a mental breakdown as reality hit forced me out of my comfort zone. Sensitivity is who we are, we cry, we yell and get angry, we laugh, we cry and laugh, we are human and we all as a collective group of different personalities and characters have something to learn and gain from each others points of views. 🎉❤😊🙏 fear is only what you don't see, so pinpoint it and expose it it will have no power over you then...

I've always been too open with my heart, I'm idealistic and always see the good in people. This has made things so hard, I have been hurt and recently left an abusive relationship that has left me hardened to others. I want to be with someone who values their relationships, who is loyal and wants to know me,who can SEE me and love me for what I am. So now, having a crush on someone, it's so uncomfortable! The anxiety that I feel while my head and heart fight over control. I just end up turning inward more and more, effectively sabotaging any chance of connecting with someone.

Well, if it's so rare, how come I have INFP-T Mediator result too and I found this channel? XD However, when I did the test two years ago, my result was ISFP-T - type: Turbulent Adventurer, role: Explorer. No, I dont think INFPs are hard to love)) I found out recently that my wife through 13 years is an INFP and nobody understands me better than her. She is my love, confident and best friend. And our 12 year old daughter is also an INFP. And for me? I am INFP 9w1, Melancholic - Aquarius sun, Libra rising, Aries Moon and Pieces in Venus and DF - As a INFP I tend to be drawn to other feelers and empaths. Thinking and sensing people not so. I feel they dont "get me" as well as feeling types.

The point is, you are hard to love if and only if people don't understand you. Since xSxJ seems to be the most common group, people frequently assume that things have to run a certain way (of course, different xSxJ can clash, because everyone has a different perception on how things are supposed to be, and if people don't sync their perceptions, you are inevitably incurring trouble). This, of course, isn't going to work with xNFx, especially when we can clearly see problems appear on the horizon. According to my experience that's dismissed all too frequently ("You're making this up"), but once crap actually hits the fan, people are quite dumbfounded.
