We recently got our Doberman a squeaky toy. He’s never had one before and we got him this one for being a good boy at the vet. He had no idea what it was when we first gave it to him and hated when we squeaked it, almost as if the toy was a child that he was taking care of. Now, around a week after we got the toy, it’s his new way of communicating with us! Whenever we can’t bring him somewhere and have to leave him home, the minute he comes out of his cage he grabs his squeaky toy and squeaks it like CRAZY. It’s so adorable, sometimes me and my mom will be talking at the kitchen table and we just hear squeaks coming from the other room 😂

My beautiful old Dobe used to lie down spynx fashion legs crossed at the front, many a time a caught her nodding off head getting lower and lower till she jumped back, the furthest she got was nose on legs. The funniest times we had was when I would whine then she would join in opposite each other along coffee table having long conversation with all sorts of noises, copying me copying her. Tears running down families faces. All before mobile phones unfortunately which breaks my heart I've no memories to look at just those in own memory and heart.

Last year the neighbor & his oldest son came over. I had some of my property and a large steel shed for sale, they were interested in it. So after showing them around we sat in my living room discussing it. My big boy dobie, 125 lbs. of all muscle, sat 3 feet in front of me and 3 feet from them. He was sitting straight up keeping an eye on the 2 of them. Well, as the discussion continued they wanted to purchase my entire property, home, garage & 4 other out buildings for just a little more than what was for sale. I told them nothing else was for sale. Then all of a sudden the father stood up & started starring at my boy. I told him repeatedly to stop it & sit down, told him he was applying pressure on the dog, not a good thing. At this point my boy stood up turned around and sat right next to me on my right side. The father was still standing. I told him to NOT take a step toward me as it will be your last, you'll be dead before you hit the floor! He sat down. I told him that my dog was stating a fact, and this is what it is: "My main job to to protect my owner, YOU are a threat to her, I will protect her at all costs." Then I said, he's not a trained killer, he's a born killer, my kind of dog! I got my boy from a friend of mine who bought him after his stud passed away, but his female did not except the 9 wk. old puppy. So after 4 days of loneliness I got a phone call to come look at him. My friends' female was 6 yrs. old & a heavy girl who could easily killed the puppy. So, I brought him home to my 2 girls, a 5 yr. old dobie & 2 yr. old Border Collie she too was a rescue. Neither were ever mother's but they knew instinctively what to do, he never lacked for love again!

A good friend and his wife came round on a Sunday visit, Shasha my Dobe, knew them both well so no problems there except the Husband decided to wear a flat cap and didn't take it off. Sasha went mad growling barking and backing him out. It took 3 shouts for him to hear me say "Take the cap off" As soon as it's was removed she stopped looked at him had a sniff and lay down. He was shaking I got him a drink going back to where they were with him looking at me as if I was mad, Sasha had her head over his legs waiting to be fussed. I burst out laughing when he said OK she's not going to eat me now but can you just get her teeth away from my nuts.
