Hey Mitch thanks for the review I'm going with the fury series but that's great to know because I use to use 350 dollar rods from 5 different companies and I was just not happy there not worth it. I felt like I was just paying for a name cheap reel seats, not enough guides, and they just seemed like they were not balanced properly. GOD bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike from Missouri.

I found that rod by accident and it has become my spinner bait and chatter bait go to. It keeps them pinned and it gives the bait a crazy delayed response to rips and pulls on the bait

Thank you man! I definitely want to get around to trying out Phenix eventually, I've heard great things

Phenix rods are awesome I have 2 of the feathers and the 7’7 MHF is the best lipless rod I’ve ever used it’s actually more of a light medium heavy mod fast and it’s awesome

Sold me my dude i am buying one. What's the reel ? Any chatter bait tips by season ? Summer,fall,winter,spring
@FishinMitch2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Let me know how you like it. Reel is a Shimano SLX. You can get it at Americanlegacyfishing.com. 6-7 gear ratio for chatterbaits! My best chatterbait tip is to vary the retrieve. Start with a slow retrieve to just barely start the vibration, then give it quick handle turns every now and then speed it up. You can catch them just straight reeling it in, but adding erratic pauses and accelerations can entice a bite. Hope you like the rod!

@@FishinMitch 734 that's 7 foot 3 heavy correct . But since it's a cheaper rod it fishes more like a mh ?
@FishinMitch2 жыл бұрын
@@CoopsFishinAddiction Yes! 7'3 is correct. Dobyns Ross tend to run a one half to a full power lighter than the rating, so a Heavy feels more like a Medium Heavy. The action, which is how the rod bends, tends to be softer the cheaper the rod is, unless the rod is specifically stated as "moderate" or "moderate fast", etc.

Start early season by hopping it on bottom around points and creek channels, and then start ripping them through the grass as it grows. Use a dedicated chatterbait trailer or something like a fluke or swimbait with the boot cut off the tail to give the best darting action. Don’t just reel it straight, mixing some fast handle turns pauses and sweeps with the rod, erratic movement is your goal

Is it true the Colts have some glass blended into the graphite?

Hi Mich! I was looking at buying a dedicated crankbait rod. I mostly use Dt 16 and 20, 5xds and 6xds. What would you recommend? I was looking at graphite/carbon or a composite. Thanks
@FishinMitch2 жыл бұрын
Funny you should ask, I was just researching a rod to throw 5xds and 6xds on! I've never deep cranked before but I want to start this summer. I've found a lot of people recommend the Dobyns 805 CB, but I don't like the idea of an 8' rod. I landed on the Zodias 7'6 Shimano Zodias MH Glass, it's rated for up to 1 1/2 oz and it had made it's way on my wishlist. If you're looking a little cheaper, there the Abu Garcia Winch which seems to be the standard for budget deep cranking rods. Never had my hands on one however, so I can't give you any input!
@nicknush16302 жыл бұрын
@@FishinMitch Thanks Mitch. I always appreciate your answers! I'm new to cranking also. I messed around last year and had some luck but didn't have the proper rod. So I'm looking for a dedicated rod just for cranking. I was actually looking into the Winch, but it's only rated up to an ounce. I was thinking the 6xd may be a little to much for it. I'll have to look into that one. Yea, comparing the different type of cranking rods would be cool. Composite, graphite and glass!

Could you also use this rod for baits with treble hooks?
@FishinMitch Жыл бұрын
It's actually a great lipless crankbait rod! It can probably also be used as a 2.5 squarebill rod. Beyond that I'd probably choose another rod
@timhafley5177 Жыл бұрын
Yes,poppers ,rattle traps Jerk baits and crankers. Good rod.
