A very solid record. Fyi vingul a very good deep dive a friend of mine found on folkways records was "Songs and Ballads of Northern Saskatchewan and Northern Manitoba" by the loewen family Orchestra. If I ever find myself in Flin Flon, I hope to ask some of the locals if the loewen family is still there. Another gem that's on a label that folkways bought is Alasdaire clayre "Adam and the beasts". Cannot reccomnded it enough, please listen as soon as you can.

Ahoy matey. Believe it or not I'm familiar with the Loewen Family record, haha -- somewhat anyway; I filed it away for later listening (you know how it is), but I remember finding what I did hear charming. Securing the Clayre record right now, I promise to listen soon! ;) thanks.

Now this is real music. They don't make them like they used to. Have you heard of Conway Twitty?

I know the name, but I'm not really familiar with his music. Heard some things he did with Loretta Lynn.

I listened to a compilation of everything he's recorded (idk why I think it was just the first download I found). The only songs I really found myself caring for was his duets with Loretta. I also got very tired of the many songs that were just "baby we're going to make love" but that's somewhat par for the course with Nashville sound.
