I got my helix pierced. The day i got it pierced it was all fine and that day itself my hair got stuck in it and I somehow got it out. But the next day my ear started getting inflammation. I thought of not removing the earring in order to give it space for blood to flow and it ended up getting bigger in size the next day. By 4th day when I woke up in the morning, I half of my earring was stuck from front side. Within few hrs the whole earring got trapped inside. I went to hospital and the nurse told that only surgeon can remove it. So here I am writing this comment with an earring stuck onto my ear.

This is super helpful! I got a second lobe piercing back in April which was slow to heal due to being pierced with a gun and gold butterfly backs. Once I switched over to titanium flat back labrets (like what you have in the pictures), it’s helped with the healing issues. LITHA, sterile saline twice daily - it’s getting there! Slowly because I’m a side sleeper but eventually it’ll get there. Thanks for the video!! Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough for the cartilage piercing.

Gosh, my ears don’t like piercings at all! I’ve had sooo many over the years, most I’ve taken out because they seemed like they would never heal after many months! Only recently I’ve discovered through a lot of trial and error…that my ears respond well with 10ct gold (9ct didn’t help)! I saved one piercing I was ready to give up on by changing to 10ct gold and now it’s fully healed. So I’d recommend trying 10ct gold or above to people who can’t get their piercings to heal. Unfortunately no piercers near me have solid gold for piercing jewellery… my last piercing I got done is with 24kt PVD gold sleepers/hoops. They didn’t have studs that were fully PVD so this was the only option. One of my ears is currently very swollen (only a week or so since piercing) with a piercing bump. But that ear also has a lot of scar tissue from previous piercings. I’m just doing hot saltwater soaks/compresses (sometimes with chamomile), hopefully it goes down soon. And I will change to 10ct gold when I the piercing is established enough. It sucks that I’m so drawn to multiple ear piercings when my ears hate it! I’m 41 now and so glad piercings are seen as acceptable and mainstream these days. I took my piercings out many years ago when I was studying teaching because they were not seen as professional. If only I’d kept those in though as my ears healed better in my teenage years, apart from that one helix one, that I had done on school camp and got stuck in my ear because of swelling 😅

It is doing very well, however, today I noticed I have a lot of peeling around the piercing and some on the front of my ear as well. I have not been rinsing the saline spray off because everything I read said you didn't need to. Do you think the saline spray is causing the peeling? I actually started using distilled water ONLY to clean it about 4 days ago because I had noticed the peeling. If it is the saline spray, can I continue to clean the piercing with distilled water alone? Thanks for your video, it was really helpful!!

This is great and very useful. A few weeks ago I got a helix piercing which after a few days got really sore and inflamed. It was getting so bad and it was bad of me too do. But after a week I changed the starter stud to a stud I had that my ears never got irritated with. My ears have always been very sensative. Even though it is still pretty sore luckily the swelling has gone down and I always still keep up with the aftercare routine. But it will definately be something I talk to my piercer with next time. To see if he can go through what the earings are made from and what options there are. I think I got away with it this time but don't want to take the risk next time.

Won’t be able to say without seeing it in person. If you’ve followed the video and still concerned I would book an appointment to get it reviewed

Ok so like I have had a helix and it wasn't too much of an issue to heal... However now I got an industrial and after 4 days, it all of the sudden got swollen, not extreme but a larger area top part of the ear, none of my glands are swollen and there isn't abnormal discharge but the pain is crazy I have taken so many painkillers and done soaks the last 24h it's pulsating and I feel it down in the back of my neck. I am very confused because pain wise I expect it to be an infection, however the rest of symptoms points to it being regular irritation.😅😅😅

Is it alright if we use tea tree oil?
@DrEzgiOzcan6 ай бұрын
as mentioned tea tree oil is very harsh and drying therefore not recommended to use on a piercing

Heyyy I have an infection on my ear piercing and I’m really scared girl idk what to do I took it out but there’s a big white spot around it and that chunk of skin looks like it’s falling off help me please!!!! What do I do
@DrEzgiOzcan6 ай бұрын
Sounds like it needs to be seen in person. The video is for guidance only and I won’t be able to give advice on your specific piercing I’m afraid. Please book an appointment to be seen by your doctor if you’re concerned about an infection
@QUEENAMIAG6 ай бұрын
@@DrEzgiOzcan ok I learned it was an allergic reaction to the type of metal that I pierced myself with since then took out the jewelry. It looks a lot better than how it was yesterday. The chunk of skin is almost like it’s reattaching to my ear. I have been putting saline water on it almost 4 times a day and I think it’s working.

Little update the chunk of skin fell out. I’m now putting Neosporin hoping that my ear closes or grows back. If you know anything about that can you please help me the chunk of ear grow back or will it

I had a conch and a flat done at the same time. I went in to have the post downsized about 5 weeks later for my flat. Unfortunately less than 24 hours later I was in the emergency room because my flat was so badly swollen. The emergency room doctor suggested I take them both out and though i had a slight infection in my conch. She did remove them both clean them and prescribed me an aggressive round of antibiotics. I was just curious how long it will be until my ear feels normal. Within 2 hours of the removal the pressure was gone. I dont think i had an infection i think it was just crust but i took the pills anyways. A week later my ear feels much better but still a bit tender. Any advice as to how long i have to clean it for, how long until the hole heals fully. Anything helps 😊

Hi :) Sorry to hear about your experience, sounds really painful. It's likely you changed the piercing too soon (I was advised to leave it for 3 months) It's hard to say when the ear will be back to how it was - everyones body responds differently to inflammation/infection. It's always best to get it checked out in person if you're worried about an ongoing infection. If the infection has cleared and the hole has closed over you should be okay to stop cleaning daily but if in doubt book to see your GP :)

@Gladiator_in_a_Suit thank you for the reply and the video was very informative It’s a helix piercing. It’s not infected anymore but it has a keloid around the piercing at one point it looked like the piercing was inside my ear but it’s gotten a lot better I just can’t get the keloid or if it’s scarring to go down puffiness all around the piercing

Since the jewelry used during piercing was artificial and it’s being two days I got nose piercing can I replace it with a silver pin ?

The jewellery used during piercing is usually surgical steel. What do you mean by artificial?

I got my helix pierced two weeks ago. For a couple of days, it was fine, but then it got stuck/pulled onto my silk pillowcase many times. After about a week, it started to swell, become reddish, and painful. After another week, it improved. However, yesterday I noticed a blood clot around the front and removed it. There was pus, and blood came out, and I can't see the earrings at all. I'm so scared my earrings will be stuck. What should I do? Should I remove the blood clot and clean it, or should I just leave it alone? 🥲

Only thing you can do is mix onion oil and traumic together in a low flame and use it daily and also keep in mind cover ur ears with water proof tape while bathing and swimming Dont use any thing dear that effect ur ear
