I feel like the fact Johnny cash voicing the spirit guide is very on topic of the whole LSD and other drugs your discussing.

One of my all time favorite episodes! The therapy aspect is well done IMO and one of my favorite lines from the show : The merciless peppers of Quetzlzacatenengo! Grown deep in the jungles primeval by the inmates of a Guatemalan insane asylum.

I had good magic mushroom trips, then one time I got over zealous and took a mega dose (not heroic but still more than I'm used to) and had a bad trip. It opened my eyes to my dark side. I know they talk about ego death but in retrospect that trip was like what if everything was stripped away and I was only ego? I healed from the trauma of that bad trip and I thought maybe I can heal with another good trip.... but then I was like "What if I just get my shit together?" So now I'm journaling, meditating and doing what I can proactively for my mental health until I can afford/find a therapist I trust.

I'm pretty sure Homer is at peace with himself. The problem is, he's at odds with the world.

Great episode. The Simpsons episode was also good. Great overall commentary insight. Your videos have helped me through my mental health journey.

I love that you're as much of a Simpsons fan as I am, and the knowledge you bring as a Psychiatrist is just an added bonus that I love hearing about, it makes watching these old Simpsons episodes feel fresh again.

Capsaicin buzz is a real thing for people who regularly consume things like superhot peppers, but it doesn't go as far a hallucinations, feels more like a moderate beer buzz, you get the giggles. I've been growing and consuming such peppers for many years.

Love your videos, Elliott! Can you react to Jack Stauber's Opal? It's a little darker than what you usually react to, but as a psychiatrist your input and reaction can be interesting

I would like to see you react to Dave the Barbarian, the episode "Shrink Rap", where Dave decide help people with therapy... kinda. It's mostly a silly funny episode but i think some points can give oportunity speak about topics.

I would love to get your perspective on 2CB. I was given some once on a night out and ended up as a consequence of the situation at the time, some RSD and taking an unknown drug for the first time ended up in an hour long panic attack. but i'd never heard of it before then.

Clarity can lead to an increased awareness of one's own failings or the emergence of guilt/shame, or the pain of not living out our values or signature strengths. Clarity itself is not necessarily a goal, on this point, you are not entirely correct. One might need self-compassion for this as you mentioned in your last video. Psychodynamic therapy has a problem.....which model does one adhere to - Freud, Jung, Lacan, Klein, Fairbairn etc - object relational theory? Tricky to rely on as an explanation of psychological issues. But obviously, the main defence mechanisms are agreed upon and not at all irrelevant. Accurate points about the hyped-up effects of psychedelics. Glad you mentioned it,

7:13 DARE made me beleive this happend when you smoked cannabis. So, when I started smoking it, it was like my fifth time trying it, and I was wondering why I wasn't feeling anything until I told my husband, "I can't move my legs because if I move my legs, I won't be able to move my legs, and If I can't move my legs right now, I'll never be able to move my legs ever again." And he said, "you're high, idiot."
