Irina I Just love how you dive right in in your clothes :) I've done the same at Blue Lagoon in Portland :) My pers fav beaches are Duncans in Trelawny, and in Portland for swimming - but for elegant gorgeous glamour, I'd say Hope Bay as it is a black sand beach and quiet. The water was rough for me so I didn't swim in it but I walked it for hours. Truly gorgeous!

@greyarea38044 жыл бұрын
Also bloody Bay has a very rich history. The reason for this name is, that's where the Pirates met their death at the hands of the British. There was so much blood in the water that the bay turned red. Hence, bloody Bay.

Another fantastic video.👍🏽 My favorite places have been Firefly Estate and Maroon Village Scott's Hall. The island has such an amazing history. Blessings from island to island. Newfoundland, Canada. We have always had a connection exporting salt fish (cod) and importing Jamaican rum. Our provincial drink is called Newfoundland Screech, and is Jamaican rum that has been blended and bottled here. There is a documentary, "Of Cod & Rum" , exploring cod fish and rum and their historical and cultural links to Newfoundland and Jamaica, that is being filmed both here and Jamaica i am excited about it and I am eager to see more of your videos about living in Jamaica now. 🙏🏽

I LOVE it. Keep doing what you are doing. Thank You.

Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the videos and find them useful! JTB have actually contacted me already 😊, but the thing is - if these videos were "official" we would have lost the advantage that makes the videos interesting in the first place: I can tell the truth and put it any way I like it, because I'm not a politician and I'm not getting paid for this - I simply do it because I have the passion for it. Jamaican Government have their hands tied due to political correctness and censorship, which would always result in videos that have "no edge".🤷♀️Anyway, I will do my best to keep the channel going and hopefully can get a bigger team to help out with production so we can publish videos more often without losing the quality!
@lynk3604 жыл бұрын
Irina you are making an impact. I am glad to hear that JTB has reached out to you and respect that you cherish the independence that your platform provides. Continue to keep us informed and shedding light on the areas that matter, so that we can all have a better understanding of how things really are. P.S. Could you do me a favor and keep this portion of our conversation private. Thanks. I’m an IT administrator and provide email and web hosting services for clients. If I can be of any assistance in any of these areas, let me know. This will NOT cost you anything because I am extremely proud and happy with what you are doing for my country. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about Social Media. IT is my area of expertise. I have a place in MoBay and usually visit JA at least once per year. Because of Covid19 I have not been to Jamaica this year. However, I am tempted to make a trip before the year is over. I will keep you posted. Thank you.

I have been to doctors cave beach just last year. I actuall prefer Hospital beach just down the road where the locals hang out. i have never seen vendors on the beach but there are authentic fod and drinks just on the road. Of course no onewill be serving them to you on the beach but in Jamaica you could probably find someone to do so at your own risk of course. promise them a tip for sure. Nice video! amazing that you haveso many over 4,000 views inonly half a days time. Respec!

Fascinating history for a beach, as you said initially it was a health sanitarium and access was via a cave, hence the name. It's similar to the history of Ventnor, England, however it changed from a health sanitarium to botanical gardens, it's cave to the beach still exists. The cave was dug there, to get flat access through the hill ridged between. England is a cold country and Ventnor Botanical Gardens is considered a very rare micro climate (turning from temperate to Mediterranean, it's Cove is south facing and a low point in the ravine makes it a heat trap. There are also lizards originally imported from Italy, that are commonly seen.

Yes Irena there was another diving built at Doctors Cave ,30 feet. but as the beach grew after the groins were erected the water bacame tooo shallow to dive from the 30 feet so the diving board was closed for safety and finally demolished. Also Corwall College uses th have its sea races along tlhe Groins but the sand started getting lost so that was stopped. Littl bit of history of Doctors Cave.
