Best decision we did was to rent a car there at some local car rental. We have traveled all over the island and seen things tourists at all inclusive stays would have never seen. Only thing is if you go to Kingston and decide to visit Trench Town and such places, get a guide, taxi drivers can recommend you someone local who will walk you trough that area safely, don't just pop up there on your own with no guide.

Thanks irie for all your interesting videos. I’ve been to Jamaica for 3 weeks . Rented a car and we traveled from port Antonio to black river . We visit lots off thinks on our way like rockland bird sanctuary. Konoko falls. Green grotto caves, all the small things. We had the time off our life best holiday ever. People who read this and want to go to jamaica don’t visit the resorts. You don’t see the real jamaica. Again irie thank you so mutch for all your advice. Greetings from holland

Re glass bottom boats. As a kid growing up in the 70's, I did a lot of snorkeling all over the coast. Back then the underwater views were spectacular, with various shades of corals, urchins, anenomes and schools of reef fish. In 2005 I went snorkeling and glass bottom boating in Ochie and Lime Cay. The difference between 1975 and 2005 was like night and day. The glass bottom boats coud barely see 10 feet deep and the reefs were drab and mostly grey.

Am seeing there is a period of success which has been knocking on your door for a very long period of time but you don't know how to open for it in your life. And there are dreams you have been getting at night which you forget when you wake up, some times you hear someone calling you but the voice disappears, and when your in a room alone you always have the feeling that your not alone. And some times you wake up from your sleep in the morning when your feeling tired from no where. And financially, you always gets money but it always passes through your hands without doing what's its supposed to do. And people has been turning onto your back even at the last moments. My spirits are showing me alot about you. There people blocking your luck and wants to destroy your life by sending you evil spirits♨️

You can stay in more than one location. I am a Jamaican living in the USA, but I try to get back home often. When we do, we stay in Ocho Rios (my hometown is nearby, so I spend a couple days there also), then we go to Negril for a few days, then finish out in Montego Bay for a couple days. We usually spend about 12-days when we go. By staying at different locations, we don't have to do a lot of "daily" driving...

@JAMAICAWITHIRIE Жыл бұрын
well, looking for a job in Jamaica is not a good idea in general, as to be able to work here you will need a Work Permit. The only way for a Jamaican company to give a work permit to you is if they can prove that there are no Jamaicans who they can hire for this position, while jobs posted at Caribbean jobs are usually for the locals. Therefore one of the reasons why nobody would reply/call back to you is because you're not a Jamaican resident. Jamaica as a country is interested in immigrants who can CREATE jobs for the locals, not the ones who come to take the jobs from them (nothing personal, but just a healthy attitude of any foreign country). Alternatively - skilled professionals who can come to do the jobs that locals can't do (or there is a shortage of them) are also welcomed. For example,. we have a lack of doctors and IT professionals, so any doctors or IT professionals from any country can get a Work Permit to work in Jamaica. However, such jobs won't be posted online - you need to contact companies directly to see if they are looking for such skilled personal. I hope this information helps!

@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE 😁 I watched all you videos. I knew this going in. The problem I have, I guess, is especially in the resorts. Certain retail, it would be very benefits to have somebody that can communicate clearly with customers, clients, guests. I'm willing to start my own business, and I have ideas. However, If an international style company, and I've seen the job postings, can say I can work from home. I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't matter if I'm from Jamaica or from the United States. Like I understand completely the whole concept of hiring local first. But all I read in loop news and other publications is that they're trying to expand Visas or Jamaicans to go to the United States or overseas to get jobs. You would think they could lighten or loosen the reigns a little bit to allow some of us who actually want to be there and live there to find work a little more easily. Irena I love everything you do here I appreciate you and I thank you.

Montego Bay is a nice place to visit the Airport is beautiful, however the traffic in Montego Bay is horrific especially when leaving the airport the government needs to invest more into roads especially the amount of tourists who visited Montego Bay each year
@trevorsteer7331 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Unfortunately, roads and traffic can be horrible in other parts of the Island as well. However, the "space" for wider roads is lacking in the cities...so, not much the "Government" can do about the traffic itself. Kingston is even worse...and even Ocho Rios and Lucea are horrendous at certain times of the day...then again, I've travelled to other countries (Thailand, India, etc) where the traffic there, makes Jamaica seem like a race course...LOL...
