I was really disappointed by the way we go from where Wanda was at the end of Wandavision, to her being totally corrupted in this movie. It just felt really jarring that she'd totally forgotten what she learned, and became just like Agatha.

This story should have been "The scarlet witch and the multiverse of madness". Wanda was the center of this story, de can have Doctor Strange as an avenger trying to stop her, even his small character arc, and have a postcredit scene that leads us to a real Doctor Strange 2, about corruption of the multiverse of whatever

ngl, i like the kookiness of "Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." because of Dr Strange's name. also it's _in the_ Multiverse etc, not _and the_ for him, so it totally tracks: he's getting thrown around multiverses and trying figure out his way around it - and madness ensues (Wanda only dreamwalks into one universe) - so i don't hate the fact that the title is Dr Strange's? the title fits the story? it's not that huge of a dissonance. now if Dr Strange really was just on the sidelines (with no arc or anything, in the same vein as Wong's role), then it'd be weird that the movie title is his.

I mean, there was no reason to have Wanda be the villain in this film basically to realize “it’s wrong to take advantage of people” all over again. She should have filled America’s role and needed Strange’s help because X group(multiversal illuminati?) is after her believing she broke the multiverse while digging into whether or not her sons are real. Big twist is that it actually was Strange that caused it all in NWH and not her. The big final conflict builds off that. The v obvious reason Vision wasn’t in the film(ignoring any irl stuff) is that his character wouldn’t work and would stop Wanda right away, again, cause she’s literally doing the same thing she tried already just in a different way.

@@hephsforge9236 No, there was much reason to have Wanda be the villain in this film. It's refreshing to see people realistically struggling with grief. @hephsforge9236
@hephsforge9236 2 жыл бұрын
@@sammiller6631 that’s formulaic in itself. The “Villain who tries the same thing over and over again never learning their lesson” is about the most cliche thing you can do with a villain. When done well, yes, it can work, clichés are cliché for a reason, however, because this film didn’t actually take much if any time to actually develop Wanda’s state or give her a solid arc, it really didn’t work well at all. If a character doesn’t grow, they are not a character, they are simply a tool for the plot to exist, an NPC if you will. She was a generic villain tbh. In my idea the arc I’d had her go under would be an exploration of how someone who has caused so much damage is affected by it once being faced with it, hence her being on the run, she never questions if she caused the damage, and neither does anyone else. I’m fairly certain that isn’t something explored by most if any films, meanwhile, Strange’s would explore the opposite, not ever considering yourself the one who causes destruction but having to come to terms with the fact you actually have.

It is just a good movie which is fun to watch and worth the time unlike some of the more recent projects of mcu. Wanda was already my favorite character in the mcu and this movie just solidified that for me. She really carried the movie, Elizabeth Olsen's acting was phenomenal through the movie (only thing I'm bummed about wanda is the fact that she was introduced as a villain way too soon, maybe it could have more depth behind it if we learnt about her being the villain later on, it just kinda felt rushed this way)but other than that, she was great.

@@solstice2149 yeah, she was good, agreed. I think the issue I’m having is how they’re being introduced. It feels a tad forced. Just for comparison when Pietro and Wanda entered the universe, it felt kind of more organic. Maybe only I felt this way. I’m using this comparison as they were relatively late entering the Avengers. I think it’s the stories and the narrative somehow it doesn’t call for the young Avengers. Their characters could be anyone and the film/series would not suffer. This is the issue I’m having with the new characters. Right now they are created to fit into a bigger story rather than telling their own stories. Moon knight had the potential to be really good, but the overall story just felt a bit nah, I didn’t learn much nor would I feel like I would miss this characters, but Oscar Isaac did a hell of a job carrying that whole series. And circling back to Young Avengers, it feels like the way they’re written is akin to young teenager’s Avengers fan club. They have no personality other than that. At least so far. It’s a shame as I think the actors have great potential to do more. Yet again, right now Marvel is experimenting to see what would work. So maybe there will be some fixes along the way. So far what really worked has been ‘What If’ series for me. I liked ‘The Flacon and Winter Soldier’ and really enjoyed ‘WandaVision’, ‘Loki’ I found good, but much like with Dr Strange I felt like it needed something extra to tie it all up a bit better.

Great title! 😂 I have to say, with regards to the actual title you went for, I would say it was pretty far from perfect Felt massively rushed throughout. Hitting the floor running and having a mad ride from plot point to plot point can be great (eg infinity war for an obvious example) but in this case it v much felt like too much was cut Too many high concept ideas with little to know set-up. It felt very 'deus ex machina'. Oh.. you've destroyed the book with the spell? Nevermind there's this random temple that no one's ever mentioned that has it carved in the walls. Lots of little insignificant bumps in the road. Oh no I've been caught by the Illuminati! Oh wait..i'm free now America Chavez's acting was a bit.. amateur at times. Eg when she looks into that memory screen thing and Strange says/asks something about her mother's and she looks down and away. Felt very..Nickleodian level acting. Her powers are used inconsistently. She inadvertently opens portals when she's scared. Yet when Wanda is Chasing them she gets a massively jump scare and screams...but no portal Illuminati was wasted. Didn't get enough to care when they died. Didn't really get to see any exciting use of their powers. Most of what we got were exposition and flashbacks. Something phase 4 is doing far too much of! Wanda was kinda rushed and kinda wasted. At the end of wandavision she realised the error of her way. Evil Wanda should really have been the 'civil war' of this new saga. The 'its all lost' moment that comes at the end of act 2 of story. Strange should've had to win over the Illuminati a trust. They should've been in the film until the final fight. Get to spend time with them. They could've taken his warning seriously yet kept him handcuffed and gone on a mission together with him winning their trust. Then when Wanda snatches America they couldv been the ones fighting her, preventing her from killing America by taking her power. That would fix how and why Wanda hasn't taken her power in the all the time it takes Strange to: Get out of the 'inbetween' multiverse Find his evil version in the universe Talk to him Fight him Sleep-walk his zombie self Fight some demons Sleep-walk his zombie self to Wanda's temple Then when she kills the Illuminati we would actually care havin spent acts 2 and 3 with them The switch in Wanda was too rushed. Good idea. But should've been an epic Wanda v Wanda and change should've come as she's about to kill their real mum. America Chaz's sudden control her power because Strange tells her he believes her was too much too.

I did enjoy the movie, but like a few Marvel projects lately, it felt like it was good when it could have been great. My biggest issues with MoM: 1, America Chavez didn’t really come through strongly as a character; by the end I still didn’t feel like I knew who she was. 2, the subplot with Christine was asking me to care about her’s and Stephen’s relationship more than this movie or the previous movie justified IMO (there’s What If, but that was a different Dr. Strange). 3, Wanda’s corruption by the Darkhold made sense on paper, but I would have preferred to see it play out at least a little, rather than do a time skip from the end of WandaVision, and it’s already happened. All the pieces were there to make it work organically (she’s alone, with all the time to mull over the sacrifice she had to make to do the right thing, and her many losses, with an evil book pushing her back to her worse tendencies and even beyond to new extremes). But for all that to happen offscreen is a little disappointing.

It would also really work, if we think, that her kids are in danger. In the end of WV, we heard them crying for help, so that would have worked so much better, to open with something to show she still thinks they need her help. And then we slowly start to realize the kids she is trying to go to doesn't exist, as it was just a trick from the Dark Hold, to make her the ruler/destroyer of the Multiverse. But when she lerns this, she is pushing forward, to reunite with her kids from a different multiverse. We could still have her as the big bad, she is, but this is way more compelling and believable.

Ultimately for me it was a disappointment, it didn't remotely hold up to the "multiverse of madness" title, with only a few worlds truly shown. I avoided most of the big trailers so I had a vague idea of the plot, yet maybe that led to my disappointment to the focus on Stephen instead of Wanda. It wasn't bad by any means, but the script definitely was just off and some of the acting just fell short. It's definitely enjoyable, but there's a lot left to be desired for me

This movie has kind of pushed me to be done with Marvel for a while. I didn't think it was great. I also don't think you should have to watch the TV series in order to be able to understand what's happening in the movies. It's too much. It also felt like this movie was a set up for other movies/shows instead of being a singular movie focusing on Strange. Why not just give Wandavision a second season or another movie? The focus seemed more on ending her story and setting up America while Strange was a secondary character. I thought the writing was also pretty terrible compared to it's counterparts. The horror elements would have been better if some of the choices made by characters who are freaking superheros, didn't feel like dumb B horror movie choices. I think Lizzie Olsen in an interview mentioned that she thought or hoped she'd come back when the X-Men were more thoroughly brought into the MCU. I personally was really hoping for Loki to appear, I expected it, had heard rumors about it. Also having Wanda, Loki and Dr. Strange all together was my personal fan wish since they were all introduced. And in my own little fangirl brain I'd hoped Loki would be the one to get through to Wanda, having been lost, alone and corrupted in his own ways... maybe that would have been a stretch but still. Or a Wanda vs. Wanda fight, though it was really moving to have SAHM Wanda have the impact she did without a fight. And yes, more Xavier!

Wanda turning dark makes sense unlike so many female characters who are powerful thus they turn dark, because Wanda was criticized and ostracized by the public for so long, she lost her twin aka her other half, she lost her love Vision, and she lost any hope of having her children because they were a creation of her magic aka an extension of her but Tommy and Billy’s existence was not a reality in her universe. She also lost most of the friends she could have ever made in the Avengers, and the public hates her. She had darkness in her from the start but those around her, who loved her, kept it in by simply being there and accepting her for what she was. Losing that let her have no impulse control, and like depression, the dark side fed off her grief and sorrows. In the comics, Wanda wasn’t even originally a good guy at all, but rather part of the Brotherhood of Mutants, so looking at her comic origins and what she has been put through in the movies and show, it’s really believable that she would fall to the dark side and yet it makes her so much more sympathetic and I think she is a really good take on the real fight with mental health and grief. Her character has made me cry more than any other character (No Way Home was a sob fest but Wanda made me cry in almost every movie and show she is in) and Elizabeth Olsen does an amazing job with Wanda, making her lovable, sympathetic and yet terrifying when needed
@lorinctoth9402

I mean they joined the Brotherhood, because they had no other way out, of their tragic life. In the MCU the parallel is them joining Hydra, thinking they can help others, not knowing Hydras evild background. (I think they were posing as SHIELD?) And in both instances they changed sides, when they had better alternatives. So I think, she means well in hearth, but makes mistakes. That's what makes her interesting. But yes, having a morally complex character, in this case because of loss, and the need to cope with that loss, is really compelling. A lot of people just won't acknowledge either side of her, just to forcing her into the hero-villain binary.

The Illuminati scene in the alternative earth was like the Marvel lawyers slapping fans while repeatedly screaming " Is this what you wanted, here it is, now you can shut up!" They were probably paid really well to do all the paperwork in order to set that up. Also, the climax where The Scarlet Witch has America in her grasp and is sucking out her powers feels like the writers wrote themselves into a corner and just, ah whatever, we'll pretend it's not an issue. In previous scenes, sucking out America's blue stuff felt urgent, like it could be done in less then a minute, like why would bizzaro doctor strange try to do it when in trouble, if it would end up taking scarlet witch like forever to do it later in the film.

You're not nitpicking. That is a proper criticism. The mind place is where Charles Xavier, the most powerful psychic on Earth, should have dominated over a witch being remote-controlled by another witch in a different universe. There is no throughline that suggested and allowed for Wanda's mind manipulation to outmatch Charles's with the ability of the latter drawn from his biology, his mutant genes and the former through magic. What Xavier underwent in this film is just something that should not happen if the writers paid attention to the script and even rather disrespectful to the character.

But i feel like I'm going to rewatch this one more than most other recent marvel movies honestly, sometimes imperfection makes these films more fun, like they're not taking themselves too seriously. But seriously, the acting is great and elizabeth olson is one of their strongest players in my opinion. I think it's also some of the most dynamic directing the mcu has seen, I loved the brutality of some of the deaths, and I think they made the magic a lot more visually interesting in this movie. The first Strange relies way too much on kaleidoscope shit for me, I think this movie had more interesting cinematography and magic manifestations throughout. As a Doctor Strange sequel, it was good but it could have been a lot better. Still prefer the first. The one aspect that really disappointed me tho was Mordo being an alternate Mordo from another universe. I waited 6 YEARS for Marvel to follow up on Mordo's statement in the first film's end credits scene: "I realize at long last what's wrong with the world. Too many sorcerers." We still have no clue what that Mordo is up to or where he's been. But at least this movie proved that Strange will be ready to hand Mordo his ass when he does return. Also it was pretty weird that Strange says Mordo dedicated his life to killing him even though all Mordo did when he last saw Strange was tell him that there will be consequences for interfering with the natural law, that he "will walk on this path no longer." and just left. No evidence of him wanting to kill Strange at all.

this would've been the PERFECT jump off point for X-Men and Wanda could've entered her Professor X era if they made it a Scarlet Witch movie. hear me out. they should've made this a Scarlet Witch solo movie and should've given The Illuminati a greater role. I say this because I wanted Charles Xavier to be a central point of the movie. in the X-Men movies, he helped Magneto multiple times in processing his grief and anger that he has from all that he lost in his life. even though wanda's loss is not exactly on the same scale (Magneto literally went through the holocaust), it would've been so good to see Charles helping Wanda through her grief. also it could've led to the perfect X-Men setup. this movie could've helped Wanda realise that her whole messing with reality in Wandavision induced powers in everyone who has mutant genes and Wanda realising that there are lots of mutant children struggling with their powers and are being dehumanised and her plot could've ended with her going to take care of all of them and taking the MOTHER role in their lives( ya know? found family arc) the post credit scene could've been like a Mansion inside an invisible force field in the same place that she was at in the beginning of the movie and the last shot cuts to a nameplate near the gate that reads "Wanda Maximoff's School For The Gifted" maybe I'm reaching too much lol

Dr. Strange taking the backseat in his own movie is kinda like what his storyline was about, imo. Him not "holding the knife" and him acknowledging Wangs position (to put it spoiler free-ish) is also him learning to willingly take the backseat . So to me, that part fits very well. (just came home from watching the movie and I'm so not over how much I still love Wandas character and how much Elizabeth Olsens acting just breaks my heart all over again and again ) (still watching the vid, but I kinda... don't agree on her being a powerful woman losing control. I mean, sort of, just not like that. She still did things on her own terms and given what she could have done with that power and yet, all she wanted was to get her children back... also, it was herself that regained her control. To me, that makes her such a strong character, personality-wise, even more than her insane witch power. My main issue with this movie is that the franchise is getting to the point that, in order to follow all the emotional arcs, you have to also watch the tv shows. I'm poor -- my whole family is -- and we don't have any streaming services, much less the expensive Disney+, and so, despite having seen all the films, I spent half of the movie trying to figure out how we got from where Scarlet Witch was at the end of Endgame to where she is in Doctor Strange. I can't help but be skeptical of franchises that don't have stories strong enough to stand on their own and can't let the characters have their own arcs separate from the overall franchise. I shouldn't have to watch everything in the Marvel franchise to follow the plot line of a single film.

Here is my problem with Multiverse of Madness. The movie lacks a sense of urgency, which then in turn affects the goals, and stakes. The movie has no goals, stakes and urgency that ensure the movie means something, rather than it being white noise. And if you don't care about the plot, why care about the characters, or anything they do even the cool fun action scenes? There's a huge misconception that character and plot are separate, that you can have one good and the other bad, but that's not at all true. A movie's primary goal is the most important part of any narrative: it must answer the question WHAT. What is it the characters need, what story is the movie trying to tell, what are the stakes, what are the goals, what is the urgency? Let's take a look. *Goal:* Wanda wants her kids. She needs America's powers to get to them. Okay. *Stakes:* Strange wants to protect America cause if she loses her power she dies. Okay. *Urgency:* At first it's give America to Wanda by sundown thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.............I....uh. There's no real URGENCY. Unlike No Way Home where Strange establishes if they aren't sent back their universe is at risk, here, there's no establishment of what could go wrong with universe hopping. There's literally a character now, that can hope universes, and there's no stakes to that. In Into the Spider-Verse, all the spiders HAD TO GO HOME before they cease to exist. There's a ticking clock on how long they have before they all die. In MoM there's no ticking clock as to what happens if when how Wanda gets to them. It's a cat and mouse game with no sense of urgency. This then causes a problem for the other two parts of the trio, because the goals are all wants, not needs. Here's how I'd write the movie: *Goal:* Wanda 838 needs to get her kids back from 616 Wanda, or the kids will cease to exist. She enlists the help of America and Strange to do so. Same as ITSV? Sure but it will add stakes. I mean Wanda is already like Kingpin so there that is. We hear things of incursions, but there's not a thing SHOWN in the film of how that can actually affect the 616 universe other than one time in Sinister Strange's world. There NEEDS to be a sense of urgency in a film like this. That urgency comes from the consequences of hopping Universes; it doesn't affect America cause it's her power. BUT it affects the people who travel with her. *Stakes:* Bringing it back to the kids, 616 Wanda has them all trapped in another hex like situation. It's nearly impregnable but again there's a time crunch before Strange and the kids are gone. 838 Wanda knows a friend with the Illuminati maybe they can help. But they don't trust this Strange thanks to what THEIR Strange has done to stop Thanos. America can't really control her powers, which adds to the stakes. What will they do to get the kids back? We need to make it all about the kids, save the children above anything else. It's a stronger plot than stop Wanda from hunting down America. *Urgency:* again it ties into the stakes of having people outside their proper universes. It's bad. Have America need to make a decision under a time crunch, she hears her own mothers from another universe, will she go to them, or save the kids, will she help Strange when she doesn't know him, what kind of person is she under pressure? This adds to the tension of stopping Wanda from inadvertently hurting her children, and make her much more incensed and stay in her character of never REALLY hurting anyone ON PURPOSE this was set up all the way back in Civil War. Wanda has a decision to make tick tock your kids or your selfish wants Wanda. Now it's strange vs wanda, will he kill her to save the kids, break his Hippocratic oath that he was so angered about breaking all the way back in Doctor Strange "I have just killed a man I will not do that again." then we hear his sister drowning, that actually serves a purpose to his story of why he became a doctor, to save lives not take them. He'll stay true to his characterization; the universe or individual lives? I feel if they had made it so where Wanda already HAD the kids, they needed to get them back to 838 Wanda OR ELSE it would have made for a much stronger movie, and allowed America to really come into her own much sooner rather than just in the third act. I do like her, and want to see more of her, but she was far too passive. Wanda just wanting to kidnap the other Wanda's kids is one not in character, she would never WILLINGLY hurt people, she hurts people but freaks out when she realizes what she's done. It fixes Strange's characterization of "the universe vs people" because in this movie while it was nice that he was kind and compassionate thanks to Peter leaving an influence, it removes what made him interesting-his morals thanks to his status as a former doctor, or his morals as a Sorcerer Supreme who must protect the universe at any cost? Yes in my version Strange would still be SS. To add to the stakes. America would have her own choices to make and be much more active rather than reactive of a character. You mention that she doesn't want to lose anyone else, THE KIDS WERE NEVER REAL TO BEGIN WITH. She isn't wanting to keep anyone SAFE she just wants to TAKE AWAY someone else's children. And THERE IN LIES THE ENTIRE PROBLEM with the movie and it even causes WandaVision to fall on its face.

Loved the movie, although I still feel a bit mixed on Wanda's motivation - it feels like a rethread of WandaVision, like you said, and it makes it feel like we're taking two steps back just so we could have her as the villain YET I love her as this force of great power that has lost her way because she suffered so much I also interpreted the Prof X scene a bit differently. I saw it as the "uncorrupted" Wanda stuck under the debris, as if it's caged and suppressed due to her drive to get America's powers for herself, which then we see the Darkhold come to remove any invading force that tried to free her - almost a callback to whenever Prof X tries to free Jean Grey from the Dark Phoenix

Not only is Wanda not dead buried under Mount Wundagore, but Maria Rambeau isn't dead buried under that statue. She and Mordo survived in that universe, no doubt, Wanda was less concerned about killing the people who got in her way as she was just getting them out of her way. No way Captain Marvel was killed by mere falling debris. It just took her out of the fight long enough for Wanda to move on.

You know what Wanda should have done? Instead of trying to take over the life of another Wanda in another dimension, she should have asked America to get her some of the other dimension Billy and Tommy's DNA, like steal a strand of hair or something. Then, she can clone them and have her own version of her sons, who she can raise from babies. The MCU definitely has the technology to clone children, and even if it doesn't just yet, with the pace technology is moving in the MCU, it's only a matter of a few years. Wanda is friends with many scientific geniuses, including the CEO of Stark Industries and the Wakandan royalty. Shuri could easily make clones of her children, and this would be a lot more ethical and morally justifiable. America is a nice girl, I think she would happily help Wanda if it isn't something that would kill her.

I like the movie but I would have liked to see Doctor Strange be able to fight against Wanda a bit more. It feels like he was kind of a nerfed since Infinity War. He didn’t even try to do much against Wanda in the beginning so I wish I could’ve seen more of that battle even he still loses to Wanda’s power. I would’ve been cool to see the difference between witchcraft and sorcery maybe shown in their fight. Also was that evil Doctor Strange supposed to be Doctor Strange from the What If series or a alternate version of that Doctor Strange. If so I felt like him seeing a version of Christine could’ve been a really emotional moment. I kind of think it was weird how they didn’t even mention how he became evil because I think it would’ve fit the themes of the movie with Strange having to see from this other universes example of what could have if he doesn’t learn to relinquish control, not always be right, and let Christine go.

While this is far from the worst movie in the MCU, I was rather disappointed with it because of how much more it could have been. A movie about witches and wizards that can rewrite reality and travel dimensions should have been the most out of this world, bonkers, imaginative thing ever. The writers/Raimi had the chance to get as creative as they wanted. But it felt like they focused too much on the "horror" elements, particularly with Wanda, and kind of just... forgot everything else. And while yes, Wanda is searching for her kids, when she acts like a maniacal psychopath that brutally murders anyone that crosses her path, I feel like it really strips away the wonderful character they had built up for her. Yes, I know she was corrupted by the Dark Hold. But I think that is a shallow excuse for such blatant character regression, especially considering we didn't even see her fall to it. She starts the movie already off the deep end. I think it would have been more compelling if we could have actually seen her trying to learn from her mistakes in Wandavision, trying to actually be a good person, but inevitably giving in to her grief and turning to the Dark Hold. At a certain point, I was just getting tired of the jump scares and the brutal fights and Wanda saying creepy things. I'm not upset that she's the villain! I actually like it, I think it's an interesting full-circle story for her. But my problem is that she didn't feel like the same complex character she was, but instead just a generic horror movie villain. And then, the other unfortunate victim of this is Dr. Strange. They focus so much on making Wanda a ~spooky~ horror villain and her quest to find her kids that it feels like they forgot about Dr. Strange... in his own movie. His scenes with Christine were all well done and I think he was definitely the better written character, but not by much and there's a reason people are saying it feels more like Wanda's movie than his. All he does is run away from her. I'm not really a Dr. Strange fan, I'm mostly indifferent to him (I actually like Wanda more), but it was really disappointing to see him under-utilized in his own movie. Dr. Strange isn't a good character because of his raw power, he's a good character because he's creative and intelligent. He can come up with new ways to combat the villain if simply overpowering them isn't an option. But in this movie, Wanda is treated as being so powerful that no one even tries to actually fight her (except the Illuminati and, well). We could have gotten the coolest, most insane fight in the entire MCU between Wanda and Strange if they'd just bothered to get creative with Strange and his powers at all. I don't necessarily think that Strange should have defeated Wanda; I think that the way she is stopped works and I love the ending fight between her and America. But he should have at least tried. When she's chasing them underground, it's *Christine* that's slowing her down by shutting the doors. Or when she was about to kill the trainees, Wong, the *sorcerer supreme*, just sits there and doesn't even try to stop her. I wanted to pull my hair out. Why are none of these wizards doing anything? Wong and Strange are realistically the only ones that could really fight back against her since they understand magic and her tricks. It's just a shame. This movie had the potential to be the best in the MCU but it just... wasn't.

I'm not even slightly concerned that they'll bring him in for the mainline movies. Sarah Finn - the casting director for the entire MCU - is pretty much an all-powerful magical entity in her own right, and she seems to be just incapable of missing. Whoever ends up actually being Reed Richards - even if it's a complete unknown - is going to be perfect for the part.

I loved her heel turn. I mean she's always been a complicated character and more nuanced. I like characters who kinda can't ever be good or evil, but have different reactions and teeter the line depending on their emotions. And I think Wanda is great. Sometimes she's good, and sometimes, she's really, really bad. But her reasoning always makes sense to her character. I get the powerful women criticism, but I also think women rarely get the anti-hero or more nuanced opportunities. And even in men the straight up good guy thing is boring. Plus she's made one of the strongest villians of any franchise. Outside of my soft spot for Gul Dukat and Kai Winn of DS9, just good villians where you never really knew where they stood and seems like they didn't either. I'm just hoping we get to see her again and maybe she gets a minor redemption arc at least. I know Elizabeth Olson is open to coming back, so I think there's a decent chance. But we'll see.

I did feel like America didn’t do much and was a convenient plot point but I get this is just an intro movie for her. I didn’t expect how dark this movie was and my jaw dropped a lot. Its a fun movie, and I agree it feels more like a wanda movie more than strange in a sense that black panther turn out to be more of a killmonger movie rather than t'challa's, and the infinity war more like a thanos movie rather than an avenger one. Its because it fleshed out the villain's motivation and back stories better than the heroes. Wanda's state of emotion already established in prior installment, and this movie finally show the aftermath of that and what happened when her sanity finally snapped. It make a good story but risking putting the actual protagonist on the side a lil bit. I just wish we can get more scenes of strange dealing with his emotions too, cuz tbh, all I see is him being a lil cocky and in denial 🙈 But I enjoy it nonetheless. At least it tried to do something new, and the way it was shot and edited is so creative and diffrent. The multiverse part itself is still a lil bit confusing, especially for those who didn't watch wandavision or loki, and america chavez acted more as a mcguffins rather than an active character in this movie, but its a fun time and I love the way it just jump straight to the plot. Can't wait to see more of ms chavez in the future installment. I know that with more and more character introduced to the MCU, its gonna get more confusing and more difficult for new fans to follow. I just hope Feige didn't lose his track and fall apart, especially in keeping the storyline consistent :')

This movie was tons of fun, and did indeed have some of the mcu's greatest visuals yet, but yeah it was super clunky to me. I thought the arc about Strange questioning whether or not he's happy was very interesting, but it felt really muddled since it was so intertwined with his relations to Christine rather than confronting his life as a whole. I also think this movie really did not show off his magical talents. Apart from the scene with the spirits, it felt like he didn't do anything particularly impressive or crafty. I also thought John Krasinski's delivery was super awkward. It was almost akin to like. A condescending high school teacher. I think prof. X was also done a little dirty; I think he would certainly hold his own a LITTLE longer in the psychic plane.
