Absolutely they can. Tox screens tell both the presence of drugs as well as the level of drug in your system. Hospital grade drugs obviously have a higher level of drugs in them. They need to be because they have to work quickly in a hospital setting due to them needing to save your life. That's why they don't do refills when you go to the hospital. Because they can't continue to give you the same grade of drug after you're doing better. It will cause a lot of problems with your body. What she means by "hospital grade" is just a medication that has more medicine in it than what is available in the pharmacy.

Lol this show is so unrealistic. For 1. I was a drug dealer and addict for half my life (I'm 36, been 8.5 years clean). Most of the drug addicts I was around were actually pretty street smart. They would have laughed at that nurses face, because.... 2. There's no such thing as "hospital grade Percocet". That's literally not a thing. Percs are percs. They come in different mg's and they are ALL available on the street. And any drug addict would know that the consumption of narcotics isn't illegal. So unless the kid literally had some on him, in his pocket or on his property that he brought to the ER, he would know that the threats from the nurse are empty. I get it, it's a TV show. But there are other shows that actually research the topics they're making the show about. This is just a cheaply made run of the mill procedural that's a drama first, medical second. It's like the difference between a run of the mill police/crime procedural on cable TV, or a show like "The Wire" that's known as one of the most authentic tv shows that's showcased both life as a law enforcement officer, and a criminal.
@Sniperboy555110 ай бұрын
Yeah, anyone who uses or has used drugs knows that the only things that are illegal are possession, distribution and manufacture.
@Mugiwara2k10 ай бұрын
Does this show not have real medical consultants? Because practically everything in this is either insanely unpractical or just wildly untrue. 1. No doctor would instantly do a tracheotomy on someone suspected of a drug overdose. That’s mostly for dire situations with very few other options and where help would be unavailable. Narcan would be the go-to for a case like this before anything else 2. There is no “medical grade Percocet” and there would be no way to differentiate it on a tox screen if there was. It’s just going to come up as oxycodone and acetaminophen (the ingredients in Percocet) 3. Her threat of possession of a drug is technically true.. but that only applies for possession, not for consumption or overdose. There would be nothing to charge unless he had it on him. This is seriously just bad and inaccurate writing for a medical show. Obviously most watchers wouldn’t know these things, but that’s all the more reason to be accurate.
