Most military couples get married at 18 right before the husband deploys hence this couple being depicted as together for 10 years but still look young. Neither have any way of predicting what the next 10 years would look like or feel like or think that after 10 long years, your husband would still rather stay in than get out like most want to and plan to by that time. It’s very easy for people like you say things like this but I doubt you were able to envision or plan out your entire future at 18, let alone get married to your newly enlisted husband that you don’t know you’ll go the next 10 years spending more time apart from, worried sick about than with him. Military wives are very strong women that sacrifice a lot and deserve more compassion, understanding and respect than they get.

Toxic masculity, I think. Men are often raised to believe their only worth is in if they are brave and strong and can get things done, if they can take risks. Very seldom do they consider the feelings of others on this matter. Not out of malice. They haven't been TAUGHT to consider them and if you point this out to them, it often causes either a meltdown or a whole shift in perspective. He's got some blame, for sure. If he hasn't missed her for ten years, enough to say "okay, maybe this was good enough!" then something's wrong with him.

It's literally all that some of them know, even raised to believe that they can never be anything else from the time they're young children.

Domestic violence is charged by the state not the victim. They press charges for victims because a lot of the time they are coerced/manipulated/etc. There are a lot of mitigating factors at play in this specific situation, so in real life i'm not sure if she would actually get jail time. I suspect they would indeed charge her with domestic violence, but would require her to get psych evaluations/do therapy/maybe sit in a psych hospital for awhile and get on medication. Putting her in prison wouldn't really make much of a difference in the long run. Especially since her husband's job was actually extremely dangerous and could have caused her trauma in it's own way. Imagine having paranoid worries about the person you love dying on a regular basis. The problem is it's not an irrational worry, it's not like being afraid of spider bites. Can cause a lot of mental health issues.
@lightshadow36838 ай бұрын
@@ElvenAngel Or maybe it was just his dream job and he's worked up a good position/history there. Perhaps he doesn't want a medical issue to cost him 10 years of his life because of something he can't control. Maybe he's worried that his entire source of income and benefits that he's been working towards will all be stripped away on a whim. The best thing early veterans have going for them is a fight with the VA over basic life benefits and a small departure check that leads to a deadend job at 40 years of age, of course he'd be upset. You're so quick to assume "toxic masculinity" as if he couldn't have any reasons behind his emotions (such as financial stability and the entire course of his life so far), and acting as if there wasn't that entire last scene where she admits she didn't even try to have a conversation because she was too selfish to endure any hardship whatsoever. She chose to poison him over it instead of confronting him because she didn't want to deal with that discussion, because she wanted to rob him of any choice in his own life in order to live out her own selfish desires.

Basically he shows up every now and then and like she said the fear of him dying haunts her and gives her regular nightmares.. Which obvs nightmares most night for 10 years can turn anyone physcopathic. They can't have a normal relationship when he is overseas for 10 years of their relationship and he wasn't ready to leave anytime soon either she could have spent at least another 5 years alone. ? Dude, she displays the classic signs of insanity. I can understand she was ignorant enough to not understand there could be serious medical side effects to poisoning her husband. However, she was genuinely surprised that she might go to jail. That means she never considered she might face consequences. That is the symptom of delusion, which in turn is a symptom of the criminally insane.

Honestly, huge respect to the captain for staying committed to his relationship despite how angry he was with her. He saw that she meant no harm and didn't want to hurt him, but still was understandably angry.

You guys are nuts...lol Poisoning someone isn't act of love or care. It's abusive and there is nothing cute about it. This man isn't commendable.

it's selfish, the idea that you don't want to worry anymore so you poison them. If you can't handle it, then call the whole thing off and date a person who isn't in the military. You may not agree with the whole idea of war/military, but that doesn't mean you get to make your own morals.

Can someone actually cause diabetes in another person?
@ET_Explorer5 ай бұрын
The people in the comment section need to realise that this is all acting. Its not a real life event that actually happened.

Diabetes is troublesome. No fun being itchy and smelly. Not good going blind and losing limbs. Fatal renal failure is scary. Not here to scare anybody. Just being factual.

Now tbh i get why she did it but don't get me wrong it doesn't justify her actions she did do wrong but, she did miss her husband and being separated from someone who u love all so much is very difficult because you don't know if their cheating, or they may not return home, i think there could've been better ways to explain to her husband then pretty much having to drug her husband up so much to the point of getting diabetes 😢 he just wanted to serve his country

Ain’t no way she started her sentence with “I read on the internet” if you have to explain something and it starts with those words just stop talking

I don’t agree with what she did at the end, but she probably has been giving him signals for probably at least half like she said he’s on his seventh deployment that’s not the most he should be slowing down and thinking about his partner very well know this probably not the first time she’s actually given signs that she wants him home she probably has been Asking for probably three or four deployment ago she would like to have more time with him for him to stay home and he’s probably just been putting it off and putting it off and delaying versus addressing elephant in the room. It might be a multiple things might be why he don’t stay since he said he didn’t wanna have a family while he’s away, and he didn’t wanna have to stay home and have a baby with her and he didn’t want one probably didn’t want one right now and also it might be depending on who he really is if he’s career military, where he wants to go up and rank and make it his career instead of having to come out and actually find you know civilian job which is quite hard enough as it is in this economy or there could be something totally different that is wrong and I don’t think he would do it, but you never know he might have a partner in the military might not want to leave even though he has a loving wife at home it’s like damn you do and damned if you don’t and those situations where you love your wife at home, but she might have feelings for this other person in the militaryyou trying to have your cake and eat it too. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love his wife, but maybe she doesn’t you know meet all your needs that you think you do. There’s a lot of ways that can be interpreted from this episode.

Holy the amount of people looking past the fact this is a show saying she needs to be arrested is quite alarming!
@bb-152ussmeta98 ай бұрын
I don't see why. The character quite literally did something that's irreversible to her husband to prevent him from deploying, which is highly illegal. People call that the character deserves to be arrested... and she should be. Yeah, this is a show. So what? If this had happened irl, then people would be calling the same thing for the offender.
