Hi Dr V 4 months left for my wedding.. will follow your routine perfectly.. i have sensitive skin and got my barrier damaged due to chemical peeling at dermat.. the 1st session was ok but in 2nd session i feel it was too much for my skin.. an i am never going to do it in my life.. skin feels little pigmented now here and there..initially i was using mandalic acid by ordinary, then thought chemical peeling at Dermat would be a better and more faster way to get rid of acne scars.. but will stick back to my routine once the barrier comes back to normal. Just using barrier repair moisturizer from FormulaRX thats it! No actives.. will start only niacinamide from next week onwards… And I love your videos.. they have always been so helpful and informative.. Thanks..

hey Doc🤗 I been using duac gel for a while and it works amazing. however people say that clindamycin shouldn't be used long term due to bacterial resistance, but duac gel in a combination of clinda and benzoyl peroxide which in theory prevents bacterial resistance 🤔 so is it ok to continue using duac ?

Can I know your views on retinal…newer retinol or advance. Hi! It just doesn’t sit quit right with me.😅 call me dumb but you can be asian, middle eastern and/or black and have pale skin. So then why exclude other “races”? Skin is skin right? I thought the only differences in skin was the colour/amount of pigment not the “race”. I thought by saying brown and dark skin was clear enough. Referring to the colour not the “race”. Only of course if she was going for race. Which I don’t think because as a doctor she would know that there is no such thing as “races” within the human race. Sorry didn’t mean to vent to you.

Most videos on KZbin is curated towards paler complexions but those routines can cause issues to darker skin types. As a woman of color, Dr. V wants to make sure evidence based information is accessible to us.

@@ivyfeenix I see, brown/darker skin is more sensitive towards some ingredients. But what exactly are the differences between “races”? We share 99,9% of the same DNA. The rest is what make you unique. Even from our siblings. The difference is too small to call it a whole different race. So I don’t see why it’s called brown and black skin. Because you can be either or both and have pale skin. You don’t have to be “racially” brown or black to have brown/dark skin. Not sure where you are from, but in Europe/UK as far as I know this has been taught to young kids at schools. And isn’t she from the UK, a doctor and comes from a community where there different skin colors? I mean she would know. I hope you understand where I’m coming from.
