Using petroleum jelly is not bad because it is toxic or bad for your health. Using petroleum jelly is bad because it is made from the same thing that gasoline is made from. The use of petroleum jelly is giving your money to big oil companies and supporting the change of our climate. There is no way to make petroleum jelly/vaseline that does involve using our earths finite resources. This is why using petroleum jelly is bad - not because it is unhealthy or toxic. There are plenty of other things you can use that reduce transepidermal water loss.

@@bethanyday3471 I agree, skincare should be ethical and in a healthy relationship with the environment we've come from. While it may not be toxic to humans, it's heavily toxic to the environment and not cruelty free. There are much alternatives to this. Damaging the earth is simply not the price to pay for "smooth skin" 😔

I have been using Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid along with Cetaphil's night cream for 6 months. 2 days of using (only) vaseline on my face at night made it softer, smoother, even and it feels like my face is permanently moisturized. 2 days of vaseline use created a visible difference something that the other ingredients couldnt achieve in 6 months. No wonder our grandmothers used to swear by it and no wonder why a product survives for 140 years. But thank you for giving a very honest review despite owning a cosmetic brand - I can confidently say that you are a doctor with integrity and you are trustworthy.

As a child growing up in NYC, Vaseline was the moisturizer of choice, especially in the colder months. My mother would slather Vaseline on us, especially to keep our faces protected from the cold weather. It worked 🤷🏽‍♀️. Never had a bad reaction from it.

I have been using Vaseline since I can remember. I stopped using it in my 20s because I wanted to use more stylish and be on trend. But I realised that no amounts of expensive cream worked for my Black African skin. I decided to use it at night and when I decided to use Retinols, Vaseline acts as the base. I apply a tiny amount immediately after shower and then use my olay regenerate 24. My skin looks radiant. So Vaseline in my household is a staple. My kids use it daily.

I've used vaseline as an eye makeup remover ever since I was in my mid-teens. I love how it gentle yet effective it is when removing my eye makeup in its entirety. I allow myself a little eye massage while I work the product into the makeup and feel it breaking down. I will say I am in my 30's now and have no discoloration or deep wrinkles around my eyes!! I think vaseline has done a great job at being sensitive enough for my eye area and providing that added moisture to such a delicate skin area. I have not tried slugging yet since I have more of an oily skin type, but I have used the product Egyptian Magic to help introduce my skin to more of a jelly like petroleum based product and.. I LOVE IT.

I had a horrendous cystic breakout on both my cheeks that progressed so fast it left my skin in complete shock/trauma, with cysts popping and oozing blood multiple times everyday. This completely destroyed my skin barrier. I tried everything in the world to calm my skin down so I could prepare it for acne treatment. Nothing worked. Acne kept spreading because my skin was too damaged for any active ingredients. Tired, I just slathered Vaseline on both my cheeks one night just because it felt so soothing and my cheeks were tired of the trauma. I know you say in your video that we shouldn't use it on acne-prone skin, but believe me, it is the ONLY thing that calmed my skin down within a week. And it didn't clog my pores or make my acne worse. I was completely shocked. I will continue to use it if I need my skin to relax while I'm treating my acne!

I have been using Vaseline on my skin for a few years now. As a child I had the driest skin on my legs to the point where it would crack and even now you can see the remnants of the scaliness that was there from when I was about 7 or 8. As I got older I started dabbling in butters (Shea and cocoa) in combination with thick lotions which helped but by the end of the day my skin would by ashy and dry again. A few years ago I just said screw it after using baby oil and lotion on my skin for a couple of years I started using straight Vaseline right after the shower. For the first time in my 28 years of life my skin stopped being dry. I had no idea the science behind it but now I know my instincts were correct.

Yasss! I’m so glad someone as knowledgeable as you co-signs the use of Vaseline. I’m in Texas and contrary to what some might think we can get pretty bad winters here as well. I have combination skin with some parts getting more dry and flaky in the colder months so I’m always in need of a good moisturizer and way to lock it in. I recently had a bad eye irritation due to a new cleanser I tried and it caused me eye to become extremely dry and flaky. I was so scared and upset. That had never happened. I tried my usual moisturizing cream but the dryness still came back and would leave my eyelids wrinkly 😮 I googled how to remedy dry eyelids and it said to use Vaseline so I gave it a try and switched to CeraVe barrier repair crème. I put CeraVe on first then locked it in with a thinish layer of Vaseline and after just a day of doing that I saw immediate improvement and by day 2 my irritation was completely gone and my eyelids were back to their normal healthy looking selves with no wrinkles either. I decided to use the same method with Vaseline and CeraVe moisturizer and it’s been a game changer for my skin during winter! I see why my grandma would never be without a tub of Vaseline beside her bed 😅 I think it’s so cool that they already knew these secrets back then. TL:DR Don’t be without ya Vaseline folks. Especially if you have dry skin!

Yes. I have been using vaseline jelly since childhood as it's there been in my house. I remember myself using it on my lips, sometimes I apply all over my face also, hands, elbows, knees and feet. But during my teenage onwards I went away from vaseline, only applying on my lips or I got more inclined to lip blam for moisturized lips. Nowadays myself (39yrs) use it on my lips (during winters), elbows, hands and feet before going to bed to prevent dryness. I feel amazing applying it as it keeps dryness away and keeps my skin in good condition. And i have felt some uncomfortable drying feeling if i wont apply it for more than 2 consecutive days, then i suddenly remember that i have to apply vaseline. I love vaseline.

Yes. Was using “B” oil as last step of skincare at night but I started breaking out. Stopped and started using Cerave healing ointment (blue tube) as last step instead. Melt a pea size in palm and applied to cheeks and forehead. Made a huge difference on my skin in the morning. No more saggy, dry and tired skin. Thanks for this video and all your other videos.

I started using Vaseline on face because I saw my dad use it after he shaved, so I started to use it. I stopped for a long time. I recently started using it again because I’m older. It works well, but sometimes I break out if I use too much.

The only thing that cured my eczema was vaselin. My night time skincare routine is Cerave hydrating facewash, cosrx snail essence. I let the essence absorb completely then apply vaselin all over my face. At morning, i wash again with the cerave facewash. Becuz the vaselin still sits on my face in the morning and if i don’t wash it off the other skinxare doesn’t absorb and i get whiteheads. After washing, i again apply my essence, then cerave moisturizing cream, then verdio sunscreen.
