Late to the Party this was a really cool episode, I learned more about time travel on how it is impossible to go back in time and how reality is whatever it’s wants, that’s how extraordinary and powerful this episode season is

I don't understand why so many people are so critical about Dr. Who. (Referring to comments below.) It's for entertainment people. It isn't suppose to be a life changing experience. Although, "Rosa" was definitely an important episode based on how crazy people are acting right now. Your reactions were spot on, though! :-)
@IG7799-c4u5 жыл бұрын
We're critical because it's a staple of British culture. We're critical because It's a show that's been part of a lot of people's lives from very early ages. We're critical because we care about the show. To a lot of people, Doctor Who is one of the best shows out there. And it's saddening to see what it's become.

I for one did enjoy episode five of Doctor Who. Though the title could have been made more easier to pronounce. Like it could have been called 'Power Hungry' or 'A Little Trouble in Space'. I'm expecting the little critter to turn up in shops just in time for Christmas. Always enjoy your reactions and looking forward to the next one 👏👍.

At first glance the pting made me think of the tribbles in Star trek, until it growled and opened its mouth. Avocado Pear! That was funny
@blackphoenix775 жыл бұрын
I liked this episode a lot. Also, I want a pting plushie, and I think Avocado Pear is the best name ever! The only downsides: Astos' death, the Doctor not knowing what the pting was (she REALLY should've done; she's been alive for several millennia now), and the other aliens looked too human: they should've been different colors, had spots, vestigial tails, horns....something.

I wish I could understand why people are liking the series so far. There's literally hardly anything going for it, apart from a few things which aren't enough to make me want to re-watch any of the stories we've had, maybe apart from Rosa - which seems overrated and falls as just being decent for me.

It might be just me but I find it very meaningful and touching that Ryan found his mom dead at 13 and the thing that helps to finally start healing from the hurt of that is meeting the 13th Doctor. Don't know if anyone else thought that but it's one of the first things that came to my mind and I love that idea.
@IG7799-c4u5 жыл бұрын
It would have been better had the episode not just stopped in it's tracks all the time when characters feel the need to deliver exposition after exposition all the bloody time. Seriously kills the pacing. But I get what you mean, that's probably the best thing to come out the episode.

If you're referring to just this season, yes. But if you are referring to NuWho overall, that is absolutely not true. Right off the top of my head, I can point to Season 1 Episode 2, "The End of the World". The Doctor and Rose travel into the future to watch the sun expand and swallow the Earth. And I am positive there are many other episodes set in the future as well.
@nintendofan60995 жыл бұрын
Eh this season is not really doing it for me. It's being harder to convince me that she is the doctor. They did more with David Tennant and Matt Smith and Peter to convince me that they were the doctor in there first season then they are here. I don't know if it is the writing problem or the actress playing the doctor.
@IG7799-c4u5 жыл бұрын
I think it's both. I for one have no issues with there being a female Doctor anymore, but Whitaker is completely miscast. The writing has little imagination behind it and the villains are boring and forgettable. Chibnall should write bed time stories, he'd have people falling asleep in the masses... or just show people this crap.

A Sonic Mining exposition......gone bust....and boom. A floating Hospital, a pregnant man (?!?!?), and Stitch on Manic Energizer Mode. All while 13 is limping from the Sonic overload ( Whittaker's version of 12's Blindness from last year's Oxygen.... good thing she's 👀, at least we know that..um...🎵 awkward....🎵 Moving On....) The Pting... PTING?!? He looks cute and yet....scarier than those Spiders last week. I used to read a manga series about 25 years ago or so call Eat Man about a Mercenary who eats metals and weapons and becomes the weapons himself, in the Pting's case, it's metals and energy, and he / it doesn't gain any weight....now THAT'S an Eater ( who doesn't eat lights...oh, wait, light IS energy..OK... well he's / it's more scarier than the eater...EATER from last year's Eaters of Light... just implying, besides, even a casual Doctor Who fan learn something interesting from time to time ). Plus, there was a little shout out mention to CERN ( the Scientists who were led astray big time from Extermis last year ) when Thirteen showed Yasmin the power core to the Floating Red Cross Vessel Ship. Towards the end of the episode, the Pting was beaten, and well fed ( hopefully he / it goes on a DIET for goodness sake ), General Eve's bravery and the rest of the crew found strength and courage to carry on, and Pregnant Man a boost to be a good Manly Mommy Daddy..or just Dad. The Tsuranga Conundrum is like Oxygen/ General Hospital / Siege in Base episode that is a conundrum in itself ( and you thought the conclusion to the Monk Trilogy Lie Of The Land was a conundrum itself and confusing enough....the former is.... just not the latter....at least there WAS a resolution to this.... advantage Pting, gotcha you crazy Monks....). And hope in their darkest hours in space. Halfway through Season 11, and so far so good: The Woman who Fell to Earth, wonderful first episode for the new Thirteenth Doctor; Rosa, the strongest of the Five, The Tsuranga Conundrum the weakest of the Five, The Ghost Monument a nice happy medium, and Arachnids in the UK, a cool contemporary B-Movie in disguise. I was in a conundrum MYSELF, the episode aired early this morning at 12:10am ( blast you T-800 for giving yourself an encore ( just kidding Schwarzenegger and Co. ❤ the movie ) BBC America showed Terminator 2: Judgement Day... TWICE!! ) ugh, Late to the Party INDEED, didn't end until 1:21am 🙇!!! Thank the Daylight / Standard Time Gods for keeping me awake for this... once again, your reaction is NO conundrum, it's 👍. And before I go.....NEWS FLASH!!! Episodes 7 and 8 have names: Kerblam!! ( oh no Amazon in Space... WTH?!? ) and The Witchfinders, the episode with Alan Cumming in it. And we know next week's episode is Demons of the Punjab, Yasmin Khan is going to rock this.... and Ryan... and Graham... and especially Thirteen yet again. Hopefully the second half of Season 11 will do justice. Well, it's 9am here in Southern California..... and I'm hungry myself, no need for a Pting sized breakfast here.... maybe 😋... anyway, see you next week....😊 👋!

This could have been good but the writers are hacks. When telling a story, here's a thought... have a point! The pregnant man had NOTHING to do with the story. For god's sake would it kill the writers to try to at least pretend to be telling a cohesive story. They could have easily made the P'Ting also pregnant and have that fact the only thing that makes the General not decide to kill it, but instead, feed it the bomb and save everyone, letting the creature save itself and its child. Seeing that could have convinced the man to keep his child. As is, they could have said that Graham and Ryan were stuck on the Tardis and not even in the episode, or they could have found a child and taught her the meaning of Arbor day, or they could have spent the entire episode with Graham teaching Ryan to tie his shoes. They had NO impact or connection to the story. That was dumb. I don't mind the theme of gender questions. I don't mind the political episodes. What I do mind is lazy, bad writing like this that obviously took no time to proof read the story for basic faux pas like pointless narratives. This could have a been a good episode. It was so close... damn.

@Hunsletkid5 жыл бұрын
Agree The Farrell. Not sure what other people are watching, but this episode like the series so far is poor. Jodie is doing a knock off 10th Doctor impression and has yet to bring her own spin on the character, she just has no gravitas either. And by looks of the ratings its nearly lost 4 million viewers in the UK, still high but not by much now. I think due to the novelty has worn off on Jodie and combined with the mediocre stories. Only positive has been Bradley Walsh as Graham.
@IG7799-c4u5 жыл бұрын
Can't help but agree honestly. Unlike with the RTD and even to some extent the Moffat era, there's really nothing that notable that we've had so far in series 11. Even Rosa, which for me isn't that great despite a lot of people saying it's really good. I mean, the villain was just a time-travelling racist from the future with hardly any motives behind his actions. It was pretty much an episode about bashing white people of being racist. Not kidding, literally every white person in that episode was racist, which isn't even necessarily accurate even at those times.

David Blyth Maybe he hasnt seen those episodes? Ive only been watching since 2005 so only recognise half of those episodes myself. I think Heaven sent is really overrated, midnight has a very niche fanbase due it just being a soap drama set in a box. Blink is truly one of the best episodes of dr who but even that doesnt age well due to moffatt ruining the weeping angels. I think this episode is much better than what people are giving it credit for.

We're never going to get Jodie shouting defiance from Stonehenge or challenging Bonnie to understand the Truth or Consequences of war or an impassioned shout of 'Today, every body lives' if all she does is run around flashing the sonic. There's got to be more to the Doctor, where is her passion? What makes her tick? The writing is so caught up in the companions (well, 2 out 3 of them) and the side characters that there's no time left for the Doctor.

It started out like a real DW episode and soon fell flat. Only way to describe this episode is BORING, BORING, BORING! The creature was a reworked cross between a creature from "The Gremlins" and the android mascot. The actors were little more than NPC actors and the entire plot centered around a cardboard "most decorated general" (female of course) and a pregnant man(?) who wants to give his child a "hollywood kid" type name, ho hum. The entire episode DRAGGED ON without no real reason for us to care or to hold our interest. So sad to see a beloved show "jump the shark". All these so called improvements are definitely signaling the end of wonderful show and losing a large majority of dedicated fans.
@thedrewsephYT5 жыл бұрын
Chris Chibnall is a brilliant writer for shows like Broadchurch, but as far as science fiction goes I think he’s a bit of a hack. I wish him the best of luck, but these episodes feel like a show runner at the end of their tenure and not as powerfully awesome as Moffat’s first series he did with Matt Smith. This is the kind of writing I’d expect out of the show if it had still been written by Moffat had he continued on. My complaints aren’t as heavily big with Jodie, but rather the direction of the series and it’s writing. I think they should fire Chibnall after this series is done and look to recoup in series 12. It’s not like it’s unheard of to change show runners, Daredevil did it between season one and season two of the show regardless of it being great. They also added an extra showrunner and put two people in charge for season two of Daredevil. I think the BBC better start rethinking this. This episode had the lowest ratings thus far this season with 6.1 million viewers. The number of viewers has only gone down since the first episode of series 11, and not up like they had hoped.
