However, in _”Flesh and Stone”_ (Series 5, Episode 5) he said that nobody could remember the Cyberking in Victorian London. Him closing the crack at the end of Series 5 made sure that everything was back to normal, with all the memories intact. With that logic, everyone should remember those events.

Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... its really just a way to avoid the modern day Earth of the Whoniverse to continue to reflect that of the real world, as, you'd think we'd look, act and behave pretty differently as a society if we'd been invaded on large-scale events by manequins, Sycorax, Cybermen, Daleks, Racnoss, Abbadon, The Bane, The (second) worst British Prime Minister of all time, Toclafane, (The Titanic,) The Adipose, Atmos vehicles/The Sontarans, The Daleks (again), the ancient lights, The 456, Rakweed, The Former British Prime Minister (again) and Gallifrey ...*pauses for breath*...all within the span of just 5 years, 'modern day earth', would probs look pretty different... Moffat had to explain this all away somehow.... (GOD, the RTD era was busy...)

Regarding Richard III's body: King Richard III died in battle at Bosworth Field against Henry Tudor, who went on to become King Henry VII and depose Richard's family, the Yorks, from power. So the assumption is that his body was taken to the nearby town of Leicester after the battle, where he was quickly buried without much ceremony, on account of having just lost the war, the throne, and most of his supporters. There was seemingly a tomb and gravestone dedicated to him at his burial site originally, but it was likely torn down a few decades later. Another fun fact: Since he was still technically a King of England, his remains were actually given a full formal funeral/burial ceremony once the archeologists were done with them, and he was interred with all honors at Leicester cathedral, with high ranking clergy and royalty attending the service.

It's better than most series 11 episodes, but the UNIT thing has got to be the worst thing about chibnall who, and certainly this episode. He just destroyed an organisation that has been in doctor who lore for 50 years to make a cheap brexit joke.

This was a decent episode imo .. definitely a better finale then the actual one last week . The main plot with the Dalek was enjoyable ..Nicholas Brigg’s vocal performance was playful yet sinister . The idea of a Dalek controlling a human like a puppet is cool though at the time , it was being heavily compared to Venom which I could see lol. The two archaeologists were cute and I thought Ryan’s story with his dad was ok ..brought some nice emotion.

It was Elisabeth Sladen's passing anniversary a few days ago, and the official Doctor Who youtube channel just aired the last episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures in a form of audiobook and the cast saying goodbye to Sarah Jane via webcam. Many of the characters appeared including Captain Jack Harkness. The finale is written by Russel T. Davies and it was such a bittersweet episode. Please guys, please continue the Sarah Jane Adventures series again. You stopped after a few episodes, claiming it was for children. I promise after season one, it's getting better and better especially with the storylines and the cast changes. It's more like the Eccleston and Tennant era because of Russel T. Davies. And you will be delighted to see the crossover episodes!

I will say that 'Resolution' rivals 'The Woman Who Fell to Earth' as the best story Chibnall wrote in Series 11; even though it goes too far in some places, I felt it did a solid job of being a good introduction to the Daleks in Whittaker's era, though it feels like two different episodes playing simultaneously (a Dalek story on the one hand and a Ryan-centric story on the other). Overall it was a mostly competent episode, but anything sat next to 'The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos' would easily look much better by comparison!

Mixed feelings about this one. On the whole it's pretty fun and action-packed, the stuff with Ryan's dad is alright, and Nicholas Brigg's performance as the Dalek is delightfully mischievous and sinister. The whole premise of "A Dalek was once defeated by ancient civilizations using rope and nets, split apart, and buried in different parts of the globe" seemed kinda dumb, and it didn't even really make any difference to the story since the Dalek just teleported all its separate pieces back to England as soon as it was reactivated. Those guardians in Siberia and the Caribbean are, presumably, still wondering what the fuck just happened. The 13th Doctor's first encounter with a Dalek was a bit disappointing, I felt. You don't really get much sense of the history or long-running conflict between, she just kinda makes fun of it for half a second and then goes back to treating it like literally any other villain. And, I dislike how the solution for how to stop the Dalek didn't come from the Doctor herself, but instead came from Ryan's fucking dad who just happened to be on-board and just happened to have a dis-assemblable microwave with him that was perfect for melting steel, apparently. Like, really? This sort of thing is why I think a lot of people felt Jodie didn't quite click as "the Doctor" at any point during Season 11, because they always have her get outshined by someone else when it comes to actually solving the problem. The whole "Oh I'll just open up a hole in barrier big enough for the Dalek to fit through" is dumb as hell, a squid-sized hole into the vacuum of space would fuck Aaron up just as much as a human-sized hole, and it seemed kinda lame how the Doctor nearly had an oopsie that would have basically turned Ryan's dad into bloody mulch, but nobody really calls her out or seems to care. (Also, the "UNIT no longer exists because Brexit" gag was awful, and I'd probably be more upset about it if this wasn't Doctor Who, where nothing ever matters long-term anyway and they can just bring UNIT back whenever they want to in the future. UNIT isn't even a British organization, it's literally the UNITED NATIONS Intelligence Taskforce originally, so Britain Brexiting itself shouldn't make any difference. Would definitely suck if we never got to see Kate Lethbridge-Stewart again just because of a "Hurr durr budget cuts" joke though.)

The UNIT thing definitely doesn't matter in the long run, if they never use it again it will be because they don't have good stories with it, not because of this episode. This gag definitely felt like something that wouldn't age well and was kinda forced (just like the "we're gonna have to have a conversation" one, much worse in my opinion as a joke), but they had to address the lack of UNIT.

Easily the best Dalek story we’ve had in a long time. In my opinion, the Dalek stories were really poor in the previous era but this is the first time in a long time where the Daleks have had a threatening presence. I liked the confrontation with the Doctor and extended Tardis team although I think Ryan’s dad should have sacrificed himself. The Doctor turning the Slitheen into an Egg happened in the Boom Town episode from Series 1. I’m looking forward to the Spyfall reaction. S12 is a huge improvement from S11.

UNIT's suspension seems more likely to be a snipe at growing US isolationism rather than Brexit. The UK's military structures are centred on the transatlantic alliance rather than with the EU. UNIT are a UN operation so would almost certainly rely on troops seconded from member nations and funded centrally--with the US being the largest financial contributor. President Trump has indicated a reluctance to continue to support a number of international bodies, especially where others are not 'pulling their weight' financially.
