It's the same Rose. Bad Wolf is the entity she becomes when she takes the Time Vortex into herself and is able to perceive all of time and space. Bad Wolf makes a reappearance during the Day of the Doctor special where she specifically states that in that form Rose Tyler is known as Bad Wolf separately than Rose Tyler. Once she expands her mind beyond the limitations of a human mind she can no longer inherently be Rose Tyler.

The Cybermen from the original series are from Earth's twin planet Mondas, and have been in the series since 1966 (introduced in the 1st Doctor's final story). The classic Cybermen were meant to be people, just with metallic/artificial parts attached, meant to be a hyperbolic interpretation of the artificial lungs and heart that were starting to the crop in the medical field during the 60s.The whole point of the Cybermen is that they are constantly upgrading and adapting their body parts to survive, as opposed to the Daleks that have always stayed relatively the same, so they have had several different designs throughout the years. The Cybermen in this episode are from this parallel universe only and are not connected to the original Cybermen in origin, and instead of whole bodies being upgraded they just take the brain.

One thing that I have always found interesting is that the Doctor (Christopher Eccelson), from Day One, has called Mickey by the name of Rickey. Every time he did so, Mickey corrected him. It wasn't until Tennant that he got it right. Here they are in this alternate timeline and who do they meet but Rickey. Was Nine fortelling the future?

Doctor Constantine was Gaius the court physician in Merlin; the Headmaster in the school episode was Uther Pendragon in Merlin; Jeff (from the eleventh doctor seasons I haven’t gotten that far yet but I’ve seen clips) was Percival from Merlin. And I think the lady who was walking with Madame de Pompadoure was Guinevere from Merlin. Sorry I’m a big Merlin fan.

The 'teardrop' design on the Cybermen's eyes first appeared in the 1968 Doctor Who story 'The Wheel in Space'. After that time it would sometimes be part of Cyberman design and sometimes not. The Cybermen were up-dated and redesigned in nearly every classic Doctor Who appearance from 1966's 'The Tenth Planet' (their first showing) to 'Silver Nemesis' in 1988 (their final classic story.)

There are many alterations of the Cybermen in the show. The one most people recognise from the classic series is the Mondasian Cybermen. That came from Earths twin planet "Mondas" which drifted out of our solar system. The Cybermen in this episode are "Pete's World" Cybermen that were created on Earth by Lumic rather than Mondas and by themselves.

There's also Telosian Cybermen (The Wheel in Space and Tomb of the Cybermen) and Planet 14 Cybermen (The Invasion). I think both are "descendants" of the Mondasian Cybermen.

Ionut yeah planet 14 and tellos are cybermen colony worlds (aswell as a small base on the moon and a space station) settup from survivors of the mondasian cybermen that advanced slightly differently. They then merged around earth shock to the 80s cybermen. Then they became practically extinct just before the time war. These cybermen then later merged with the lumic ones to become the new series (7-10) cybermen.

Blind Waves, you are correct. The actor playing the "President of Great Britain" in this episode was Roger Lloyd-Pack, who was in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. And interesting fact, David Tennant actually played his son in that film. Roger Lloyd-Pack is best known here in the UK for his roles as Trigger in Only Fools and Horses and Owen in The Vicar of Dibley, which were two big comedies on BBC One many years ago. He died of cancer about eight years ago aged 69. He was a legend! Also, to answer the question about the Cybermen, they've been in Doctor Who since at least Patrick Troughton's time, which was in the late-1960s. So yes, they were in the original 26 year run of the programme.

It's a divergent universe. The Doctor inspired Torchwood in both universes but for some reason the royal family were deposed , Britain became a republic, the Doctor wasn't around to repel the invasion in the Troughton episode The Invasion. Lumic picked up left over cybertech and made his cybermen from backwards engineering the cybermen from that story.

A better analogy for what Shane was trying to say is try and imagine if everyone you ever loved lived only for a hour in your perspective but in that hour in their perspective 70 years have passed.For the doctor being around humans is like having a dog that can communicate with you and make a deep emotional bond with you and it suddenly dies...now multiply that feeling by the 900 years of the doctor and you get a perspective about how he feels about all the people he has met and lost in that time.Also kudos to the editor I shat myself on the thing in a suit that i can't remember the face of for some odd reason.

In 1970 there was a Doctor Who story called Inferno, also set in a parallel world... in this reality the royal family were assassinated and I think this is why the UK has a president rather than a Prime Minister... therefore this version of Torchwood may have been set up for the "weird goings on" rather than the Doctor himself..
