​@@strbourneYeah, But RTD is gay so that kinda makes up for it 😅 Remember that the BBC didnt choose any of the showrunners. RTD wanted to reboot the show so he got the showrunner role, he then wanted to leave and asked Moffat to take over, Moffat then asked a couple of people to take over when he was leaving but Chibnall was the only one who was willing to take over. RTD then wanted to come back to write an episode or two and then got asked by the BBC if he wanted to take over for Chibnall as Chibnall was leaving the show.

This is a pretty damn good episode !!. The concept of the Boneless was inventive and well handled . I thought it was nice to see Clara step into the shoes of the Doctor and their dialogue with each other at the end always hits me . It really feeds into how this Doctor is questioning if he’s a good man or not , he’s more morally ambiguous then previous Modern Doctors .

Another one of my favourites from Series 8. The concept of two dimensional creatures is such a great and unique idea. Also, that speech. Moment where Capaldi won me over completely, and I'd already loved him before hand.

For a long time, apart from the finale, this was my favorite episode of the season. But there's a lot of underrated episodes this one : Into the Dalek, the Caretaker, Mummy, Listen... Still, I cant wait for them to reach series 9, which is probably the best of Moffat's era imo.

There are maybe one or two episodes in each of RTD's seasons (most of them by Moffat, actually) that are better than the majority of Series 9, but there are quite a few stinkers. Not to mention some really botched finales (Yoda Doctor, the ruining of The Master, etc). Aside from Sleep No More, all the episodes in Series 9 are really strong, hence why my original comment had the word "overall" in it.

A113 is the Animation Computer Lab from California University of Arts (or CalArts). It's where many prominent animation/design students went to including the founders of Pixar which developed 3D rendering technology in those labs for Toy Story and the Lamp/Ball short films.

Rigsy ❤ Psychic Paper NOT working on that terrible old man who deserved to die more than those other nice community workers. TINY TARDIS! Both the OG blue box and the silver cube 😄 Doctor!Clara taking charge, leading the team and saving lives(including the Doctor's). And then we get that very ominous "you made a great Doctor but that's not a GOOD thing" comment from the Doctor. 'Flatline' is such a great episode and intentionally or not sets up quite a lot going forward.

Idk if there is a more "real life" connection between this episode and Pixar, but from the first time I saw it I always assumed it was an easter egg joke about how Pixar was the studio that pretty much leaded the jump from 2d animation to 3d animation, and the monsters of this episode were trying to jump from a 2d world to a 3d one.

I mean it's actually quite good for the most part, it's just that the bits where it gets bad - namely Kill the Moon and In the Forest of the Night - it gets REAL fuckin bad, which tends to overpower any other impression the season leaves. Plus, at least for me, I do find the conclusion of the season finale to be a bit clunky and not-so-great, which I think doesn't do it any favors, since leaving off on a lesser not tends to retroactively make the whole thing seem worse than it actually was.

Time is not really the 4th dimension. We say that for the sake of simplicity. But to understand the differences between the theoretical 2-dimensional world and the actual 3-dimensional world, we need to take the 4th dimension as a spatial dimension. So 4th direction in space. It is even more complicated when you take into account the fact that as creatures living in 3 dimensions we do not see in 3 dimensions only in 2. If we could see in 3 dimensions, looking at a cube we would see all its faces simultaneously. Likewise, beings living in 2 dimensions only see 1.

I looked up the Banksy-shredding incident; there's a video showing it happen - speculated that a friend of Banksy's was there to record the event. the expressions are priceless. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5zdm4yQfdhlbac The shredder malfunctioned and only shredded half the painting, but they reckon the piece is worth even more now than it was before - and there's a new vogue in "shredded Banksy art" - some people have already shredded Banksy art they have, to increase the "value".
