16:50 I hope there was an early draft of the script where the "it's in all of us" sequence included the dinosaur. I assume its consciousness got absorbed into the starseed too.

Joel Fry was on my list for a possible Doctor at one point. I really wanted a brief Pulp Fiction moment when they opened the briefcase. I feel like Moffat just wanted to make the jokes about bootstrap paradox and about no one being happy after explanations. He always has to do something like that. I am ready for some stories that allow us to connect more with this Doctor and his companions. I love Ncuti and think he could be a fantastic Doctor, but they aren't giving him all that much to do.

I feel that although Steven Moffat looks so much like Moe from the Simpsons, he is far more creative. The sudden switch to Anita felt much like the the subplot with the other 2 hobbits in the Lord of the Rings and I really appreciated it. Any other writer and we would have got a straight story with a character who dies a la Voyage of the Damned, but Moffet takes us out of our comfort zones.

Anita initially had like 5 mins in the episode and they liked her so much they gave her a ton more. So, perhaps we may see her again. Fingers crossed. I think the bootstrap paradox was just for fun since it was a timey-wimey episode. RTD has four seasons in his mind, so I'd hope that Ncuti stays for them all, assuming Series 16 and 17 get greenlit.

"Oh no, the dinosaur is being mind-controlled." Where else but a Doctor Who reaction would that sentence make any sense, eh? On Anita - it's a very unusual, very specific name to give to a character. The only other Anita I can immediately think of is Anita Dobson. I wonder if that's a coincidence? Also, you said "Perhaps the last one" at the start - why? I hope you're well?

I think they could bring Anita back if they wanted, seeing as she went to work for the time hotel, they could have her pop up wherever or maybe they could do it like Donna where she is introduced now but she's actually the companion for the 3rd season, if there is one or maybe they could spin it where she is actually the companion for the next Doctor.

8:34 One of the biggest bugbears from this episode is the first time he walks in (before the opening credits) he says "cheese toastie and a pumpkin latte" then stops and breaks into a big grin. Yet this time he says "cheese toastie and a pumpkin latteOH HELLO" with literally no pause where that big grin could have happened. But it's supposed to be the exact same moment, it's not different iterations of a time loop or anything. I found the pre-credits scene pretty stupid anyway, although I guess it sets up the various historic eras (not that any of them have any bearing on the plot) but I don't know why they'd break continuity in such a basic way too. Feels like the show is edited for idiots since Chibnall left.

That as been happening for over 60 years many times between episodes there was slight changes to get the Doctor out of cliff hanger situations. Very much a Doctor Who tradition.

@@MrStephenLodge The same scene twice in the same episode, though? Is that really the standard we're holding it to in 2025? I know the cardboard sets are part of the charm and nostalgia but to me that's just bad editing and there's no reason why it was at all necessary to change the scene.

Trevor and Anita were both great, but Joy was a bit of a drag on the episode. And it's the writing, not the actress. Her one real good scene was her "I followed their rules...." outburst. Other then that she was either just nice or taken over by the briefcase.

The episode started good i thought we might had been finally doing Dr. Who stuff after that lackluster Season 1 or 14 or 40 whatever you wanted to call it and Ncuti was getting there as the Doctor but as soon as it got to the scene with the Doctor staying at the hotel for a year it was starting to get boring very quickly and my interest in this episode was lost it started to get into soap opera territory which i was hoping they would avoid. They wasted a good actress Joy was hardly in it. Anita was more the co-star. I didn't like the birth of christ scene i felt they went alittle too far and the star and the magic was just over the top. I think Steven Moffat is losing alittle steam and should had bern given to a new writer he's had his day in my opinion.
