This is amazing and I believe it it better than the original was. The dark tone suits it so much better than the campy, bohemian, post modern original did. It was very much a studio production, reminiscent of studio based childrens productions of the time, blue peter, play school and so on, over lit and cartoonish. There is a sinister undertone to the whole piece which this captures brilliantly. If the guys at Bad Wolf have their heads screwed on right - they will offer you a contract to animate this and other missing episodes. I'm just blown away by this.

That stylised Tardis exterior when they first enter the Toymaker’s realm is just stunning. Honestly the shading works so well for a story like the Toymaker, would love to see a story like The Massacre tackled like this!

The shot of Hartnell lat 4:20 is wonderful. Really shows off the clarity of the style and the tech behind it. I love the way this animation lends itself to the unnatural puppets growing. Super unnerving. I used to describe this visual reimagining of Toymaker from the ground up...and as ever, it's a fan that has willed it into existence. So jealous and thankful.

Fantastic. The fluid movement of the characters was superb, a huge improvement over the 3D animation that was used on the Web of fear release. The camera movements and angles were great making this a really enjoyable watch. And there was a definite sense of menace with the look, style and animation of the 2 clowns. BBC need to see this and employ you full time to animate the remaining missing episodes. Well done.

A fantastic job. I have vague memories of seeing the story as a child and being totally engrossed in it's surreal style. I think your version does justice to the writer's intentions in adding a brilliant eerie atmosphere to the scenes. It would be nice if the original programme tapes were rediscovered in some dusty archive, but I'm sure the actual execution did not live up the story's ambition with it's over lit studio sets. Your version should be issued as an official one, you have a brilliant eye for this.

liked, subcribed, and notifcations turned on! I will be sharing this link with all of my fellow Doctor who fans! I we accidentally skipped the latter half of the First Doctor's run while watching Classic Who for the first time (we're on the 5th Doctor currently), so I haven't "met" Dodo and Steven yet, but I know of them from the few scattered books and short trip's I've read that include them. The animatiopn quality in this is unparalleled; I've only seen one or two animated reconstructions from the Second Doctor's era and couldn't stand to look at them they were so odd and... janky for lack of a better word. Here, on the otherhand, the animation is so smooth and fluid it literally looks like real people are walking around on screen, and the lighting effects and detail really adds the extra menacing quality that Classic who could sometimes lack compared to modern media. Especially when you mix the mediums, and have the real actors on the mini screen, showing bad memories.... it just adds an extra layer of horror and spookiness to the scene~! I am very much looking forward to Part 2's premier tomorrow and will watch it as soon as O get off of work! If Big Finish or the BBC are reading these comments, HIRE THIS PERSON ASAP !!!!

Fantastic. This is superb. Please keep going. I've really struggled with this srory previously due to lack of visuals, but this is brilliant. Also, if you get chance to do the last 5 mins of the Massacre, we'd have a lot more Dodo. She needs a decent re-evaluation, she's great.

This is amazing! Such beautiful animation and a fantastic recreation of the story! This is also the first time I've seen an adaptation of this story so I have to give credit to both of you, for you brought it back to life for us all to see and showed us how great the story is! I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes in this serial. And if the Toymaker does return for the 60th, this has been a great introduction to his character!
