Although the Master is in Yana form, you can hear the tune of "This is Gallifrey. Our Childhood, Our Home" in the background, which makes this scene feel like one of the rare and closest times the Doctor and the Master have actually put aside their differences, become long term childhood friends again and worked together for a good cause.

Sad thing here is that this is probably what the Doctor and the Master were like in their younger days.

This is Galifrey plays in this which is so good for this scene!

i really like the gentle, slightly melancholic version used in this scene

It's a shame that Professor Yana wasn't simply an exceptional human. He would've made an amazing character. Think of all the good he could've done. But alas, I am not upset by it for the story we got was exceptional indeed. But always wonder what could've been, y'know?

But you know that part of the Master still exists in that old head of his. And always did I suppose

so the last of the humans got screwed by the master and we dont survive the end of the universe basically?
@thequietestengine9 ай бұрын
@@randomrazrwell, supposedly THIS small group of humans trying to survive has a terrible fate but the Doctor alludes to there possibly being others out there. Plus with how the timelines bend and fluctuate or even divert entirely, who knows if that future even comes to pass

I like the fact that he's a version of the Master. It shows that the Master does have a good side of him deep, deep down, much as how the Doctor has a dark side

I would have loved to see an alternate version of this that acts as a flipped version of the Mr. Smith incident. Like, if Yana got his memories back, what if he still decided to send these people to Utopia because he'd become a good person after all these years? It would've been so sweet to see.

Damn. Think of all the could have accomplished... Actually think of all his alternate could have accomplished. Still a great story though. And that mournful score, is just gorgeous to this very day.

He was so unrecognisable on this show Derek Jacobi. His twice as unrecognisable in Cinderella as Kit's father.
