Cleansing your skin regularly improves its appearance. Use a high-quality facial wash and wash your face twice every day. I recommend only riiceberry face wash by litlextrra because it actually maintains the right pH balance and is very mild. This face wash prevents pimples and provides my face a glowing as well as improved appearance throughout the day. Having juicy fruits assists maintain hydration and maintain your skin's well-being. Using Vitamin c serum additionally enhances complexion. Do this regularly and see the outcomes yourself.

In the past, I used to have clear skin. However, lately, I started developing acne breakouts. Unaware that my harsh face wash I was using was in fact drying up my skin. Once I replaced it to this gentle cleanser and used a moisturising cream along with it, every single one of my breakouts stopped. Thank you litttleextra ricebeerry.

Hi Well my T levels are extremely low and I just start med TRT as I was ill years ago so it’s very low. So that would explain why the last 20 years my face is like a grease out 1 Hour after showering. Terrified to put a good lotion even though logically that should help the oil production. But doesn’t lotion clog up the pores? It’s like a viscous cycle. Ugh.

Teens are so lucky to have these videos from dermatologists to help them take care of their skin earlier in life. Like I’m still 27 but it would have been nice to have watched them when I was in high school. But then again it’s never too late to learn and change my skin care routine especially now that I can afford it lol.

I'm 24 now and it's my first time doing Salicylic Acid, Retinol and Moisturizer based on what I recently watch on "Doctorly". 🤦 I'm too late at the Derma Party and my face had a lot of hyperpigmentation acne and I hope retinol will heal it because I'm tired of doing Eskinol Cleanser and Toner alone. 😂

Personally, I do not use sunscreen. I never get sunburn. And my skin has not aged from sun exposure. IMO, sunscreen for dark skin is way overblown. People of color can get by with little to no sunscreen. Just like they did for a thousand years. I typically spend two hours or less in the sun. I see no need for sunscreen unless I am spending more than 3 hours in the sun. I also have a Vitamin D deficiency. *How am I supposed to get enough Vitamin D without sun exposure??!* 🌤 Use of sunscreen. Sunscreen prevents sunburn by blocking UVB light. Theoretically, that means sunscreen use lowers vitamin D levels. Skin color. Melanin is the substance in skin that makes it dark. It "competes" for UVB with the substance in the skin that kick-starts the body's vitamin D production. As a result, dark-skinned people tend to require more UVB exposure than light-skinned people to generate the same amount of vitamin D.

@@Better_Call_Raul Everything you said is not true. Sunscreen is extremely important and is the most important part of skincare. Black people is the racial group with the highest rates of cancer because people spread myths that dark skinned people don’t need sunscreen. That is simply untrue. You are watching Doctorly, a duo of doctors that constantly advocate for wearing sunscreen to help got avoid skin cancer and premature aging; why peddle the myth that sunscreen ain’t necessary? At 48, I'm still oily, but I have become more dehydrated if I'm not careful, so balancing oily skin focused products with hydrating products is my focus now. I used the Cerave SA Cleanser morning and night until I noticed how dehydrated it left me. Then I went with the Cerave SA at night and the Laroche Posey Clarifying Cleanser in the morning - I really do think it's the less harsh of the 2. Now, I use the Laroche Posey Clarifying at night and the Laroche Posey Hydrating Gentle Cleanser in the morning. I add more hydrating products at night because they tend to leave me too dewy if I use them in the morning, but I will use a hydrating toner in the a.m. My biggest pet peeve is that almost all products marketed to "mature skin" are focused on dry skin. Hello! Not everyone over 40 has dry skin! I might throw up if one more ad is targeted to me because of its dewy finish, perfect for maturing skin! If I use that, I'll look like I slathered my skin with coconut oil within an hour!

When I say I have oily skin...nobody has anything on me. My skin is sooooo oily that I can turn any paper towel see through with just a small tap on my face. The other day I had scratched my eyebrow and then touched a colored paper and I left a fingerprint on the paper!!!! I keep it as simple as possible. Cleanse. Moisturize. Sunscreen. Just bought a BHA exfoliant to maybe help. Starting with once a week. My skin is also super sensitive. Anything will make it burn! So foam cleanser is not even an option. I also started the Australian gold sunscreen because I had heard it helps with oil a bit...nope...about 3 hours later I was shiny! Now at times my skin does become so dry it hurts. So maybe mine is hormonal. Idk I might change to some of these products. Once I run out of my current products.

Oily is not the same as dewy lol. And my skin looks incredible now that I have a targeted routine. I also start with the Cerave cleanser and alternate between my Tret and a BHA toner in the evening. In the morning I also use the Cetaphil moisturizer; I don't have acne but I absolutely love this product! And then for my sunscreen I've been using the Australian Gold mineral sunscreen, a product that dried me out a year ago, but now works incredibly well for me. hey i have to reply to this comment. i have had seboherric dermatitis for over 10 years. Keto based shampoo never worked for me. Doctors would keep prescribing it to me seeing my dandruff in my scalp. but when i did a lab test at a dermatologist where they removed a tiny piece of my scalp to check my condition. i had realized after many years i had seboherric dermatitis. i recommend to use shampoo with 5% coal tar in it. also stop eating food with yeast (pasta, bread, flour). dont stratch your dandruff like skin, when it becomes dry and visible, use an moisturizer suitable for oily skin. and dont shower in hot water, it drys the scalp and the affected parts more which makes it’s visible and red. use room temperature water. drink alot of water and theres more things you can do. right now my seboherric dermatitis is barely visible and shows up once in a while

Been oily my whole life and it’s taken a while to find what works and what doesn’t work. I have yet to find a product that leaves me matte for an entire day, but I’ve at least found some that allow me to make it to lunch before having to blot. Also, I moved from a dry climate to a mild climate and then to a very humid climate and have found that products that worked before now make me oilier (presumably because of the humidity). I’ve also found that my face HATES hyaluronic acid when it’s high up in the ingredient list. For example, I wanted to love that LRP mattifying moisturizer, but it left me oily within an hour of applying it. Same with the Cetaphil moisturizer/sunscreen.

Because of the steroids I was given to combat covid, and because I was pregnant, I was put on a diabetic diet as a preventative measure because there was a high chance to get gestational diabetes (pregnant have high chance of getting it from covid steroid treatment). My skin started to get less oily and after 2 weeks, my skin felt normal, it wasn't oily at all, and out of habit, I kept wiping my hand across my face throughout the day, expecting to see oil on my hand, and there wasn't. My pores went away, I loved my skin so much. It lasted for a month after I was discharged. When I was home I started eating junk again and now my face is an oil slick again. So to anyone who wants to cure their oily skin, go on the diabetic diet, you'll see results after 2 weeks, it's hard, that's why I haven't gone on it, it was easy in the hospital, I had no choice lol

Exactly one year ago I started learning from these two and some other dermatologists on KZbin on skincare routine. I always struggled with dryness and peeling, so I though I had dry skin. I started my routine pretty simple, a gentle cleanse and nigth cream at nights, no cleanse in the morning, just water washing my face followed by SPF cream. I stopped with the exfoliating gloves and other mechanical exfoliants. In just a couple of months my skin was never dry again! Turns out it was just dehydrated, and in reality I have a combination skin with no acne. Now my skin is so hydrated I've changed my routine to oily skin, but still learning about oily skin. I've introduced retinol at nights too. Thank you so much.

I find for my oily skin that the Cerave Day Cream retinol sunscreen is PERFECT. I haven't heard of another sunscreen has similar texture. It gives a skinlike not extremely matte but definitely not dewy or shiny finish. I use the Cerave SA cleanser and Sa Face and Body lotion lotion on my face. Cerave Acne skin resurfacing retinol. (Though I'm gonna try the Differin Adapalene gel soon) And the Japanese Aqua Cure exfoliation when I feel my skin get tight from dead skin hanging on around the bottom crease of my nose. Side note: I tried the Cetaphil oily skin purple and silver packaging cleanser and moisturizer. And it made my ice pick acne scars WORSE. It was very strange, I wasn't getting pimples but honestly it was worse sense now the only way to get rid of them is with laser treatment of the sort.

My go to face cleanser is Bioderma’s Sebium gel moussant actif and every 2-3 times a week, I use their Sebium gel gommant to exfoliate. I tried both CeraVe’s facial cleanser, and La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar foaming gel, but Bioderma wins by far. After cleansing, La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Mat is my moisturizer. I use Bioderma’s Sebium pore refiner over my nose to minimize pores.

This is exactly what I needed. I've had acne prone oily skin for 15 years. I've tried EVERYTHING. I've spent years and years researching, educating myself on products, testing, buying, acids, scrubs, masks, toners, serums, spot treatments, peels, you name it. I am so close to going to a dermatologist but I wanted to be able to say I've also tried doing nothing special. I paused my use of toners, serums, and treatments for about 2 weeks and only using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. My skin is doing terrible. Most oily I remember being. Large painful pimples like I haven't had in years. I'm just mentally exhausted, I use everything I can think of and it just keeps this crap at bay, my skin never gets any better, and then when I stop it comes back with a vengeance. I often had a voice in the back of my head saying "this is too much, you're being to harsh using all this on your skin" but I hope not to have that thought again after this current experience. I have this idea that if I hesitate to remove certain products from my skincare routine at the advice of a doctor, they will say "well it isn't working for you because your skin doesn't get better" but likewise, I will know that I am correct in wanting some of these oil controlling ingredients in my skincare going forward. If anyone made it to the end of this long comment I do have a question. How do I incorporate a retinoid into my routine if I also want to use salicylic acid in a cleanser? Or do I want to use that cleanser? Is a retinol going to do the same work and I can omit the salicylic acid?

Hi there. I didn't get acne until my mid-30s. I had a long battle figuring out how to clear it. I was recommended about Korean skincare & my skin did a complete 360. It healed my skin from within. That's what Korean skincare is all about - healing the skin barrier, unlike Western skincare products. I really highly suggest you investigate on Korean skincare. They're technologically advanced & way ahead of its time - especially with the SPFs. Dr Shah & Maxfield above mentioned Isntree, which is a great Korean skincare brand.

Hi! Your comment really resonated with my current experience... I've been battling acne and oily skin my entire life (30F) and it really is a daily struggle! After trying many, many different products and going crazy overthinking wether I was doing too much/not enough, I feel like I am finally getting on to something. I still have a long way to go but here's my advice. Use a salicylic acid cleanser every AM, but switch to a gentler cleanser in the PM so your skin is less stripped before using retinol. Start incorporating retinol 2 times a week, then move to 3 after a month, then to 4 etc. Closely monitor your skin and if it gets too irritated, incorporate more hydrating and nourishing ingredients while staying at you current retinol frequency without moving up. I currently use retinol 5 times a week and have stopped here for 3 months now while my skin adjusts. The remains nights I just use a Niacinamide serum and focus on hydration (masks, serums etc).

The CeraVe Foaming Cleanser is amazing. I like using the COSRX Snail Essence, it gives me a boost of moisture. I find that when I do a hydrating essence or toner my skin doesn’t get as oily. Yes, one of the reasons I hated wearing sunscreen is because they were so heavy and greasy. There so many good options now.

I was really excited for this video, especially with warmer weather coming for my oily skin, but there are a couple in the recommendations that have some pretty bad ingredients. Most look pretty good and I’m excited to try, but just as a warning for those who need to be more careful. Like unless Cera Ve changed their formula of that cleanser, that may be one to look out for. I love these videos! I just hope that the quality of the ingredients stay more important than any paid brands since so many people will trust this channel.
