I started double cleansing last year and it has been a game changer for my skin. It drastically improved my skin tone and texture. I only double cleanse at night at the end of the day. I work as a nurse and double cleansing makes sure I get rid of all accumulated dirt/sweat. I am fully committed to my Korean skin care routine and recommend Pyungkang Yul cleansing oil or the Axis Y Moringa cleansing oil. I follow that with Klairs Gentle Black Foam Cleanser. ❤

I got into skincare pretty heavily at the start of the pandemic, as did a lot of people. Double cleansing is one of my favorite things. I finally added tretinoin to my routine about 3 months ago. At 54, my skin looks phenomenal and the best it ever has in my lifetime. Just a few weeks ago, I met a woman a couple years older than me who asked how old I was how old I am. When I told her she was stunned. She thought I was a decade younger. I'll take it! Keep up the amazing videos, I've learned so much from the two of you over the years. ❤

@jillclement morning: brief cleanse, vitamin c, Sunday Riley lactic acid, and moisturizer/sunscreen. Evening: double cleanse, copper peptides, wait about 15 minutes, then tretinoin and heavier moisturizer. I really only have one item that I can't live without, and that's Sunday Riley lactic acid. It really smoothed out the bumps in my skin. I use it daily without any irritation. I use a chemical exfoliant mask about once a week in the evening and skip the tretinoin that night.

For smooth glowing skin: 1 - Staying hydrated is key. It helps. Try to consume at least 2 liters water every day. 2 - Using riceeberry face wash from litleextra daily is part of my routine. Although I occasionally skip this step due to impatience. While it works, daily application is crucial for results. 3 - I avoid any kind of soap etc. 4 - I stay away from junk food. 5 - I do 30 minutes of exercise everyday. Together, all these steps helped me to get good glowing skin without any acne, dark spots and pimples.

The key is to do all of these consistently for 6 months at least and NEVER stopping once u get the results. I got the perfect glass skin following these things and so much more (ie no alcohol, sunscreen, raw veggie smoothies every morning, 7 hours of sleep) until I slowly started eating those junk food again and all of it is gone now 😂I still do every single thing here and don't even eat a lot of junk food - just fried food and sweet treats 3-4x a week. Getting that perfect skin is really tough work, unless you're blessed with good genes.

Idk if the doctors mentioned this, but some oils with an abundance of/combination of certain fatty acids can feed a fungus called malassezia, which in normal amounts is fine and found on the body naturally, but off balance can cause fungal acne (looks like small bumps everywhere). I don’t have fungal acne but I do get seborrheic dermatitis sometimes which is also caused by malassezia so I have to be careful which oils I use to double cleanse. Squalane is good for this since it isn’t an oil but a hydrocarbon

I started using an oil cleanser recently and immediately fell in love with it! I have comedonal acne and oily skin, so I was always scared to use any oil on my face, even though it made sense that only an oil could dissolve the oil in my pores. I decided to give it a try and it has really helped remove sunscreen, makeup, and oil buildup in my pores. It rinses away effortlessly with water and doesn’t leave any greasy residue, so I’ve found that I don’t necessarily need to do a second cleanse afterwards. I’ve been using it a couple times a week and can’t imagine being without it now. So all that to say: if you have oily skin and/or comedonal acne, it might be worth giving an oil cleanser a try. You might be pleasantly surprised!

I also have used hair conditioner to cleanse and remove makeup for 20 yrs. I even use hair conditioner(V05) in place of bodywash in coldest darkest driest winter. I've been double cleansing since way before it was a thing. When I use makeup, I remove it with an oil-based cleanser otherwise it doesn't really come off, but my skin is already oily and I always need another detergent afterwards to make me feel clean. I can't imagine how my skin would look like if I didn't, but I bet it would be way worse than now!

I LOOOOOVE double-cleansing!! It’s been one of the biggest game-changers for me! I do use tinted sunscreen and my skin feels so much cleaner, radiant, and smoother (and my pores look virtually invisible) after double-cleansing. I’m extremely happy that I added this into my nightly skincare routine. I use DRMTLGY Pre-Cleansing oil and it’s been fantastic for me.

The Ordinary Squalene Cleansing Balm then QV Face Gentle Cleanser (Australian Pharmacy brand and a favourite with dermatologists here), mature dry sensitive reactive skin here, I use tinted mineral sunscreen every single day, mascara, tinted brow gel and lip tint. My dermatologist recommended these cleansers when I had destroyed my skin barrier, I love the process of a short massage with the cleansing balm, all the sebaceous filaments on my nose disappeared within weeks of starting this cleansing routine about 3 years ago.

ok, here is my two cents worth, take it or leave it......I cleanse twice and I am an old lady. I use a cleanser by Cera Ve, called the hydrating cleanser, then I cleanse with Sal. Acid second. It works great It helps with my pores on my nose. Then after cleansing, I use The Ordinary retinol. My skin is beautiful for my age. I use no make up at all anymore. My skin glows naturally now.

Personally, I double cleansed when I heard about it. Doing that left little bumps on my skin. Then I happened to listen to Dr Sam Bunting. She said she noticed that in her patients who double cleansed. She said wash with a cleanser suited for your skin type and rinse 10 times. I did and the bumps went away. There are sometimes I do use a face cream I stopped using to get the sunscreen off before cleansing.

50 y/o with still pretty oily skin & often a breakout or two at any given time. I wear full makeup to even skin tone as well as help w/ oily appearance. Being oily, a setting spray is a must to get through the entire workday. I have found that the Dermalogica PreCleanse works very well, though its liquid consistency often means I need to take my contacts out first. For the last couple of months, I've been using Clinique Take the Day Off balm - works well & doesn't require contact removal. It's *slightly* less effective than the Dermalogica, but 1. goes on sale more often and 2. avoids the hassle with my contacts. I follow either up with my normal cleanser. I exfoliate with Dermalogica microfoliant (usually evening unless I'm going makeup-less on the weekends) or Clinique exfoliating lotion/toner. Followed up by moisturizing products depending on makeup wearing & skin condition (level of break outs, or dryness). SPF if I'm heading out & will be in the sun more than it takes me to walk from my home to car to office building.

Before cleansing balms and oils and micellar water, we used cold cream or cleansing milk for removing makeup. These were effective and gentle products and still they were much cheaper. With cleansing milk there is much less residue left after cleansing and -the oil in water emulsion- leaves the skin refreshed hydrated and clean. Never needed a double cleansing.

I've been double cleansing for 10 years and I cannot live without it. Cleansing oil is my favorite thing to use because it's very affordable, lasts a long time, and is super effective at removing sunscreen and makeup. For me, micellar water irritates my eyes and cleansing balms are hard to control in regards to how much product you use, so cleansing oils make the most sense to me. Hada Labo and the kose regular and/or speedy ones have been my favorites over the years. Currently I've been trying the Elizavecca olive oil one and it looks like it'll be another one I recommend and will probably repurchase. I have oily skin, so I love a good lather, and the shiseido perfect whip cleanser makes a great thick lather that washes away the oil and makeup residue

Now that I’m 26, the period of developing wrinkles (26-40) and skin cancer, I started using sunscreen of Cerave’s. I somehow forget to use AHA/BHA mask which I used to use every single week in my routine for months.
