@@facts4147 it helps a ton with the barrier, which is damaged when you have rosacea. the zinc inside also helps with inflammation, cica calms it down. i use it mainly at nigh so i'm alright with my t zone being oily! and i just put on less when i use it in the am, only when it's very very cold though.

@@facts4147 people with Rosacea generally cannot handle heavy moisturizers because they will cause us to flush, for example the triple lipkar baum and the original vanicream causes me to flush, due to the heavy mineral oils in there and general oils. Dr. Dray mentioned that because of this people with Rosacea generally tolerate silicones well, so although CicaPlast is a Baume, the skin protectant is silicone based so people with Rosacea tolerate it amazingly.

This balm helped to calm down my rosacea flare ups! I went through a phase of trying out a bunch of new products, my skin didn't like that at all and was all red & hot. Bought this balm and it calmed the redness down overnight! Used it morning & night for about a week, now I use it every night mixed with a lighter moisturiser (to make it easier to spread). In the morning I use a lightweight gel-like moisturiser + a thin sunscreen (la roche-posay anthelios uvmune invisible fluid). This routine has been working like a charm so far! So I definitely recommend this product for sensitised/sensitive, irritated, rosacea prone skin!

@@user-ip6ro9bm8q I cleanse with vanicream these days, last year it was cerave and aveeno. Aveeno is AMAZING for damaged barrier or very sensitive skin. Cut back all actives, just cleanse/moisturize and use spf EVERY DAY. The cicaplast balm and Lipikar Baume are my two favourites product to use when I have an eczema flareup, especially when it's on my face or neck. They are also beautiful to use when I've overdone my vit A derivatives or acids and my skin stings with the application of most skincare products - it loves the both of these. So good for general dry patches as well.

According to La Roche-Posay's website years ago, Cicaplast was formulated to use after laser treatments, chemical peels and other instances when skin was irritated. That's why I first bought it. They've removed mention of that on their website now, but you can still find it in the product descriptions of other websites where it's sold. My laser technician even started recommending it to her other clients when I showed it to her. What really confuses me is using this as an acne treatment. Personally, I break out if I use it too many days in a row and I exclusively use it for irritation or after skin treatments. They came out with a serum formula in a tube some years ago, which I liked better because it didn't break me out like the balm. However, it seems to have been replaced with one in a dropper packaging, which is a real shame. Droppers are just awful. As far as formulations go, they're hit-and-miss. When LRP reformulated Effaclar Duo nearly 10 years ago, I had to stop using it. Whereas the old version worked perfectly for me, the new version did nothing. Unfortunately equivalent products from Avene, Bioderma and VIchy never did quite work either. I hope this new Cicaplast version works well.

I absolutely love this product. If I have an allergy bump or redness on my fair 58 yr old skin, it works like magic overnight. Every once in awhile I put some over my lipikar daily moisturizer all over my face and my skin looks amazing, especially under my eyes. I switched to all La Roche-Posay products, I no longer breakout and my skin looks a lot less blotchy and more dewey. I don't need foundation anymore. I put this on my entire body. Great for sensitive skin.

Thanks for the video! I've been using Cicaplast Baume B5 for more than 5 years on my face and it's a life saver! I also incorporated Lipikar Baume АР+M as a body (and sometimes face) moisturizer, it is definitely a must in my routine. Cicaplast Baume B5 has been recently reformulated to Cicaplast Baume B5+, excited to try out the new formula. Also, in my opinion, Avene Cicalfate has a very similar consistency and feel to it as Cicaplast Baume B5. I like both, but prefer the latter due to price per ml. I have acne vulgaris, for which I am using tretinoin, if anyone is wondering how it works with acne. No cloged pores, however, if you're prone to milia, avoid it around the eye area. I got one near my lower lash line and switched to a lighter moisturizer for under eye / upper lid skin.

Thanks for the test, I wasn't wrong when I just bought Cicablast for some hand wounds.Cicablast really helps with those and is somewhat comfortable. I like how it stays "moist" for a while when you apply a lot, and after a while you can blend it in. My thumb wound where a big chunk of skin tore right away has been healing so fast after I started to apply this to it as soon as the open wound phase was over.

Pleased to see the boys compare the Cicaplast Balm to the Lipikar Balm AP+M since there's so much overlap between them. The Lipikar Balm AP+M is a holy grail for me. It's loaded with skin goodies and has very few questionable ingredients. Plus the clinical studies on cancer patients and prebiotic thermal water are really cutting-edge for a drugstore product. I know people are annoyed by the change in formulation, but the new version is amazing. Think they should do a dedicated video on it honestly.

I have severe skin damage to my lower legs due to lymphedema and recurring cellulitis infections. It really helps keep my legs moisturized, as well as support the healing of the damaged skin. I also have used the Lipikar line of products (especially the AP, AP+M and Triple versions), but have found the Cicaplast more supportive of the unique skin damage and scarring I have. So I can attest to the healing properties in relation to scarring. (Note: La Roche has an acne treatment line that works great too.). I really live by this brand.

She also prescribed DS Laboratories Advanced Hyaluronic Booster (10%hyaluronic acid) and I have definitely seen very good results for my skin. I don't remember how I found out about this product, but I knew about it before it went mainstream viral! So lucky considering it sells put now. I have normal to oily skin and can get away with it in the winter. To combat the heaviness I take a small amount and rub it in my palms to warm up the product, then pat it in. Not only is it a God send if you're starting tretinoin, but it's great for skin barrier disruption and irritation. I had my dad put it on a wound he had stitches for and it helped heal the scarring! I love the Cica and the fact that it's in a European product when it's typically Korean.
@Chrysaetos3

I'm curious, what makes you think it's typically Korean? I've always seen these cica balms as very European, since they've been around here for well over a decade. Just some off the top of my head from French brands: Avene Cicalfate, Bioderma Cicabio and Uriage Bariederm Cica. They all work nicely if you can't find the LRP version. Or if you find them too heavy, LRP also has a serum version which is quite nice. Interesting that it's made it's way into Korean skincare trends. I never knew.

@@shawnee. I see that's a nice idea to get started, also if you're a beginner you might want to look into "skin cycling" which was popular a while ago to reduce irritation when starting a retinoid I actually use it after my acne has started healing but is still inflamed and red, just use overnight on specific spots like that and I've found it really reduces the amount of scarring I get when I use it this way. I also apply it when my skin is feeling a bit dry and itchy from all the actives.

I am always scared when some of my staples go viral😅😅. And YES we Europeans are kind of miffed about the change in the formulation: at the end of the day (as someone who studies cosmetology) my two cents is that they wanted to capitalise on the popularity of Centella asiatica (even if medacassaside was in there in the first place and has been for years). However more concerning is the fact that they added these probiotic complexes to ride the popularity of pre/probiotic in skin care: I thought they were more of an evidence-based brand, and to me, it seems that there is not sufficient evidence on the benefits of topical use of probiotics, so this is just marketing.
@yooein
@yooein Жыл бұрын
lol "Evidence-based". They're creating their own evidence. L'Oreal is great at marketing for sure. My dermatologist also ate up all this evidence-based bs, too. LRP plasters all their products with the "hypoallergenic" label. And some of these idiots with dermatologist degrees think that "hypoallergenic" means they can be used by anyone. 😂 It was almost hilarous when, after the nth time of me patiently pointing out the ingredients that I had been proven allergic to during multiple test rounds on the ingredient lists of La Roche Posay products, I showed my dermatologist how my skin reacts to the "hypoallergenic" cream. As you can guess, my skin immediately turned red, it started swelling up, etc. So yeah. "Evidence-based" is amazing. But La Roche-Posay are definitely masters at misusing evidence and brainwashing dermatologists into thinking that all the LRP products are the best for every single person. They just throw their common sense in the garbage bin when it comes to LRP. It's insane. Meanwhile my brother with some of the same allergies as I have only listens to evidence-based advice. He uses those LRP calming products recommended by the dermatologist. He went on from mild eczema to full-on psoriasis. He puts more and more of the LRP products on. And god forbit I point out the ingredients we are both allergic to, cause my advice is obviously not the evidence-based advice, only dermatologists can say evidence-based things. He is such a win for LRP, he is buying more and more stuff for his skin that's just getting worse. LRP is not some charity unfortunately. (And yeah, I know they make a lot of amazing stuff. It's specifically their misleading marketing and the dumb dermatologists that eat up the marketing I have a problem with, not their products.)

@diane_5789 Жыл бұрын
@yooein Babe, you do you👍I have my opinion based on my competencies you have yours based on your experience. I am sorry your dermatologist was not able to give you the advice and care you needed. Dermatologists are not allergologists or pharmaceutical formulators so I am sure they were probably not equipped to understand every single ingredient on the inci. But at least he should have advised you to stop using the cream even if your claims were unsubstantiated. The golden rule in posology is:" When encountering adverse reactions discontinue use immediately." Research in the cosmetic sector is private and paid for but one also has to understand that the system of peer review of scientific studies can't be all corrupted. I stick to what I know works for my skin and that has peer-reviewed studies behind it. Hope you'll quickly find something that can help with your and your brother's condition!
