Although arguably its still important because if you get enough sleep it takes less time to read through textbooks and you're better able to pay attention during lectures. So if you take in information more quickly you can get your homework done faster. Oh and you're better able to retain it so less cramming is required for tests. I literally will get overheated after being in direct sunlight for like a few minutes so I instinctually week out shade, especially in the summer months. When it’s cold out the sun can be nice to warm me up but only for a few minutes. During summer though, I’m like a total vampire. I even walked around with an umbrella on campus. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who had that idea. You wouldn’t think of using an umbrella for anything other than rain but that is like an instant relief for me. Cuts the heat down to like a third to a half of what it would be without direct sunlight. I mean there’s a reason parasols exist. Though rain umbrellas in my experience are bigger and provide more coverage. That or I’m just small lol.

I laughed so hard at the 4am rounds joke. I always point out how doctors will always say that the two most important things one can do to help overcome and recover from illness are to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of liquids. Both things that hospitals are terrible at providing. I had a serious cellulitis infection on my leg that ended up being quite antibiotic resistant to the point that they were pushing different IV antibiotics constantly day and night. I was in the hospital over two weeks. Also, because the infections deteriorated so much of my leg so quickly (They actually had a consultation on the subject of whether they should remove my leg when I first got into the ER. Thankfully they didn't need to.), that it flooded my kidneys with enormous amounts of proteins from the broken down tissues and cause serious concern over my kidneys shutting down. So, one of the things they get you to do is drink tonnes of liquids to flush them. I kid you not, they would bring me a single little cup of water filled with ice. The nurse couldn't even leave the room before I drank it. Finally, after days of this, they would bring a jug of water. They were nice enough, but I couldn't believe how hard it was to get a good amount of water to drink. Keep in mind that I was, ahem, outputting several liters a day. (I know this because they measure your output, yay, that was fun) I tell you, never was I more happy when I was able to get out of my bed and walk down to the little room with the water dispenser, which I did often, while juggling multiple cups. That isn't even talking about the constant sleep interruptions. Let me tell you, you never want to have an antibiotic resistant anything. If you do, you will not only get a doctor, but a whole team of doctors, each of whom want to spend time with you. Not only do they wake you up much more often, but they also all tell you totally different things. Multiple times a day I would be told I was probably going to be discharged soon just to later be told that I wasn't going anywhere for a while, to then again be told that I shouldn't be there long. The back and forth was probably more exhausting than anything.
