Thank you for sharing your schedule! I am not sure I could complete the whole of it if it was me. Seemed I never knew how to study smart. Have noticed that we get distracted and need rest and thankfully to you, I know how now. Social media and internet are really big distractions and my material is online. I am not having exams, thank God, projects are my power. I am having 4 assessments to work on at the same time, half of my dissertation, a marketing analysis, a program and a website. Would adapt your advice to my assessments. The bad thing is all the material is needed is on the internet, so I have to train will. Also using internet long time hurts our back and head at some point.

@emmanueloshaddai3259 Жыл бұрын
@@iwillgetayorkie3262 Not at all. You can still change things, but you have to give yourself a serious look because it only gets worse to tackle if not dealt with early. I'm a believer in God, and a verse in the bible that scares me into discipline is Proverbs 21:17 "He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich."
@orezz4469 Жыл бұрын
@@iwillgetayorkie3262 it s NOT too late man! Take my example: I am right now studying at a very high appreciated high school and even tho im still fighting my procrastination it s better than last year. And my solution to this awful thing is to stop watching tiktok and read more books. It may sound weird but reading made me more self aware about my tasks and helped me focus on short/long periods of time unlike tiktok or media which is destroying my attention span minute by minute with max one minute videos. I hope you understand and forgive me if i made spelling mistakes (im pretty sick and my head hurts):) You ll be alright in your journey!

Very interesting. I'm writing a video on why learning that much is a terrible idea and I'm glad to see that at least someone thought deeply about the core principles involved in sustained attention. I think you should have added something. One of the best way to replenish focus according to research is mind wandering, because it allows the default network of the brain to express. the theory behind it is called resource control theory.

In my experience social life is foundamental, and it seriously benefits the study. Giving yourself some free time in the evening to hang out with friends a couple times per week prevents you that feeling of alienation . Plus for me waking up knowing that at the end of the day i will enjoy some free time gives me motivation to do alla the thing i have to during the day sessions.

Yeah when I was in my 2nd year I didn’t really appreciate the science of it all. That being said constant interval repetition does help too, but spaced repetition (progressively longer delays) is even better and more efficient!

How do you structure your revision when you also have essays and assignments due in? Just thinking about how I can implement a similar structure as a sixth former with homework etc as well as revision time.

Great question! So this routine is my routine for a month before exams. For normal day to day routine, it’d be more flexible and I set aside time do work that is due. So for example replace a study session or 2 with time for doing work that is due in.
