@DJSt3rling there's a lot more to price than the general region they're from... Most western brands enforce labor and environmental laws for their Chinese production which local brands don't follow. They also spend more on R&D.
@iCuteJP2 ай бұрын
@@bbnd5476 Chinese athletic footwear brands have made significant strides in recent years, offering high-quality running shoes at competitive prices. Brands like Li-Ning, Anta, Xtep, 361, Qiaodan, and Bmai now produce daily trainers and max cushion running shoes for under US$50, with some carbon-plated racing models available for less than US$100. These low prices don't reflect a lack of quality. Chinese brands have invested heavily in research and development, creating midsole and outsole technologies that rival those of global competitors. Recent improvements in labor and environmental regulations in China have led some international brands to relocate production to countries with lower costs, like Vietnam. Several factors contribute to the affordability of Chinese brand shoes: 1, Design efficiency: Asian foot shapes allow for more standardized production, reducing manufacturing costs. 2, Market scale: China's large domestic market enables high-volume sales, with popular models often selling millions of pairs shortly after launch. 3, Marketing strategy: These brands prioritize competitive pricing and high sales volume over expensive marketing campaigns. It's worth noting that if these shoes were sold in Western markets, their prices would likely be comparable to other global brands due to additional costs such as shipping, labor, warehousing, and potential import taxes.

I have this shoe and the Qiaodan Qinghong too. I prefer the Qiaodan Qinghong over the 361. It is 104g in my US9.5 and is an amazing shoe. Both shoes fit me true to size. I have the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris and Nike Vaporfly 3 also in US9.5. The Qiaodan shoe is much cheaper too. I bought it on AliExpress when they had a sale so it only cost $220 Aud which is only $150 USD! Crazy for a shoe of such high specs. I don't have the EVO Pro 1 nor do I intend to buy it. Way too expensive for me.

@SHAHLIFE.64 Yes, the Miro weighs 119g in my US 9.5 so 15g heavier. Stack heights are similar but I feel I have to focus more on my footstrike to get the best performance benefit. Both shoes are excellent and I feel like I'm splitting hairs here. The heel counter on the Miro is firmer. And also the Miro appears to have a higher forefoot stack height when I look at them side by side. The Qinghong would benefit from a tad more outsole in the toe area as that is experiencing high wear already from limited use so durability may be problematic. Bounciness, softness and ground feel are very similar and I have no lockdown issues with either pair. It may be the Qinghong's plate design and placement that works better for my style of running. After working out in the Qinghong my Garmin gave me a huge performance condition improvement which mirrored with how I felt. I'm really looking forward to what Asics comes up with in this very low weight higher stack 'super' shoe. I think it will be good.
@jackjill20102 ай бұрын
@SHAHLIFE.64 Given your preferences you may get along better with the Miro. Both have no insoles but the Miro has padding in the heel area. Just walking with one on my left foot and the other on my right foot I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference on a blind test. Miro vs VF3. .. Miro feels much lower to the ground, softer midsole and less aggressive. Miro vs Metaspeed Paris Sky ... Miro is again much lower to the ground, much softer midsole and much less aggressive. Miro vs Plaid 1.5 ...both midsoles feel very soft but because the Plaid has so much more it is way more comfortable. I think there is a trade off between weight, stack height and the midsole foam performance in combination with the plate placement and design. I hate to steer you wrong but just based on what you prefer the Miro is probably the one. Though I'd go with the Qinghong on price alone especially when AliExpress have a sale which is usually the start of every month. Note you have much more road feel with either pair than a Vaporfly or Metaspeed Sky Paris or Plaid. It's going to be the weight difference that might make that difference in the 5/10K as you probably will have a marginally higher cadence. I'll go and do a 5k run in each in the next few hours and give you my thoughts. Mind you I just ate a big meal so don't expect much in accurate feedback. ☺
@jackjill20102 ай бұрын
@SHAHLIFE.64 Not a problem. I was going to be lazy so it was nice to do a workout. Definitely the Miro is more suitable given your criteria. Has much more cushioning and less ground feel. The Qinghong does feel very bouncy and the foam may be a smidgen softer but springs back nicely. I ran in the Miro first and did the 5k at my goal half marathon pace which is 4:20 so finished in 21:38 . 2nd 5k in the Qinghong was at 4:21 finishing 21:44 . It was 24 degrees so relatively warm. Incredibly the Garmin stats were very similar. My stride length, cadence and vertical ratio were 1.34-1.42m, 167-170 and 7.5-7.9% respectively. I weigh around 64kg, mid 50s and 168cm to give you more info. Qinghong is the less stable of the 2 shoes for sure. Hope it helps. I'm hoping you enjoy the Miro and the Plaid when it arrives. The Plaid midsole is quite soft and makes me think the new Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 may have a similar type midsole. I 'm hoping better. I think there is some cross over now. I loved the Mizuno Rebellion Pro 1. The 2 was too much for me. I don't think I can make the most of the aggressive plate set up on it but it is an excellent shoe. Highly discounted too. The 3 which releases next week I believe looks very similar to the 2. Anyway, enjoy running in your new shoes when they arrive!🏃♂

Consider exploring Chinese online marketplaces for running shoes. Many reputable Chinese brands like Li-Ning, Anta, Xtep, 361, Qiaodan, and Bmai offer high-quality daily trainers and max cushion running shoes for under US$50. You can even find carbon-plated racing shoes for less than US$100. Don't let the low prices fool you. If sold in Western markets, these shoes would likely be priced similarly to other global brands due to higher shipping, labor, and warehousing costs, as well as potential import taxes. Just received my pair. For anyone interested, I ordered it on November 13 and it came November 19 to Michigan. First run was on 20 November. Took a while to get the tongue situated on the left shoe. Which I then realized was not tight enough during my run. To me, these feel very similar to the Vaporflys, although lighter. I think I could set a PR in a 5K with these shoes but overall for longer distances I prefer the ASICS metaspeed Paris edge.

Excellent review especially since it was a shoe that was not sent by the brand for review. As an owner of some Chinese branded shoes I am surprised at the quality, performance and value. The 361 Furious Future 1 or 1.5 is an excellent marathon shoe offering from the brand. However, it was still a very expensive shoe! Mind you, they generally don't skimp on things we tend to gripe about with some Western brands like shoe laces. They sometimes send 2 sets of different shoe laces or sock liners depending on the brand. It reminds me of the feeling I had when I bought my first Nike Alphafly which had awesome presentation and the shoe bag.
Do try Qiaodan Feiying PB30, 4.0 and the Plaid 1.5. They are just as good as the best from the western brands.

I previously ran my 5k-Half marathon races in Saucony A6 which I really liked for race days. This shoe sounds like a good possible option for me - how does the sizing compare to Saucony - do they run true to size or do you need to size up. Thanks
