I watched this documentary after ankle surgery and it scared me, but also I learned that you need to find out what I need to know about the product that is being used. I will never use a cobalt hip replacement.

Essure almost killed my daughter !! It littering broke apart inside her & all the metal coils & parts migrated to her other organs & imbedded into other organs. Each piece has to be taken out one surgery at a time due to blood loss. My daughter died 3 times in 3 surgeries over a two year period. Now that Essure is being sued they are trying to pay each victim eleven thousand dollars for bills and pain & suffering !!

I watched the documentary yesterday, and could barely believe what I was learning. My mother-in-law had a hip replacement in April 2015. By November of that year, her personality had drastically changed, she's been in and out of behavioral centers for evaluation, and she has progressed to a dementia/Alzheimer situation. She spiraled so quickly, I have to think there could be a connection. I called my father-in-law last night to see what type of hip was implanted, and it was metal. He didn't know if it's MoM or not, but if it is metal on metal, he can investigate metal toxicity poisoning.

It makes me sick. I do not, nor will I EVER allow anything to be inserted into my body, not even if I lose a limb or it's life-threatening. Who ARE these people that think they can do this? Doctors? Sorry. They're doctors second. They're people first. And people make "mistakes." People have ulterior motives ($$$).

Essure implantation sounds alot like getting shot and having the bullet break apart inside your body. When that happens- you need LIFESAVING surgery. The metal spiral coils that break off inside the body allowing fragments to migrate all over the place in vital organs- honestly sounds like the same thing

Those things can get full of bacteria. I had a copper 7 many years ago and kept getting infections and had to have it removed.

Can this be (also) media hype? How many implants work? How many fail? Every medical procedure has risks associated with it. I have the Essure 8 years now. I am fine. Easy, safe, pain-free procedure that fulfilled my wish to not get pregnant anymore. My experience. I don't mean to disregard or minimise anyone's suffering.

Let me put it this way. In 2015 at the age of 49 I underwent total left hip replacement surgery because my hip had deteriorated to the point I was in excruciating pain and could barely walk. I had been living this way for years. Apparently the device was one of the ones never tested. BIG DEAL! Since the replacement I have enjoyed a quality of life I never thought was possible. This was something I dreamed of for years. So what if it fails? It's still far better than the alternative. At least I enjoyed a few good years of a quality of life I never imagined possible. I am not the least bit concerned that the device used in me didn't undergo testing. I would be no worse off than if I never had the surgery at all. In 2015 I was ready to gargle a shotgun when I could no longer tolerate the pain nor walk. These last 3 years have been bliss

sorry just because a device makes your life better doesn't make it right.not getting devices properly tested is wrong

You better have your blood tested for cobalt, titanium poisoning. My friend is dying from his hip replacement in 2011 due to cobalt saturating his body. His symptoms are severe vertigo, loss of hearing and severe double vision. Hes so handicapped now he has no life and getting the runaround to get this out of him and replaced with non metal. Doctors' treat him like its an anomaly. I hope your's was not metal.

They said that the clinical testing has bias, but the FDA monitors all clinical testing and evaluates for any source of bias. Lazy factchecking by the filmmakers.
@strawberryredz19976 жыл бұрын
Sean Fitzsimmons not true. FDA passed without testing hip device's. I know I got a squeaky one . When I read about it, was not tested. Horrible, don't trust them
@vincewarren12716 жыл бұрын
Sean Fitzsimmons the FDA is a joke. Quit sticking up for them. Just look at the mesh industry or ICES by Robert Dennis and see how they would rather halt his progress rather than help progress it. Wake up guy.
@dianateabag6 жыл бұрын
The ensure trial wasn’t a clinical randomized double blinded ... this is obvious since you can’t hide the fact you’re implanting something versus doing a tube ligation. But you have to accept that because of that there WILL be bias on that study
