Fantastic review - the bike looks great as well. I'm always impressed in how particular you are about your bike setups. I definitely don't fine tune my bikes anywhere near like you do. Still a bit skeptical of wireless shifting though but I think it's beginning to grow on me now.

Same experience. I ended up going up one size. I am 6’1/185cm and got the XL - after Canyon telling me I should not. The actual cockpit space (top of the bar - center seat rails) measures exactly the same as my BMC 2016 Trailfox Trailcrew which has a 475mm reach. Part of this may be that I have long legs and run the bars all the way up.

@@iunlisted1176 Exactly, although they do list in under the trail category as well. I think their original plan was for the RS/Sram models (with the 150mm Pike) to be considered the "Trail version" while the Fox/Shimano models (160mm 36) were the "Enduro version". That said, they didn't bother with this separation in North America at all, instead using a 160mm Lyrik and Super Deluxe for the RS/Sram models. Interestingly, this configuration seems to have how replaced Doddy's Pike/Deluxe variant in other markets as well, so the "Trail version" is apparently no more.

510mm reach, so it would fit me then. I am 181cm. 800mm bar is the minimum for me too. I too run the brakes like this. but I also have issues with my wrists misaligning, causing me to miss turns cus I can't brake properly, so wrist supports solved that. and brake levers like this combined with a bike that fits, is lovely, reduced arm pump and fatigue. I would prefer it in the old color that blue looked sweet. But not a fan of the internal routing, as I prefer external. I quite like the longer chainstay of Geometron at 455mm. I've not tried Eagle AXS, but I have Archer D1XTrail, and have M5100 cassette and M6100 SGS rear derailleur. So I can use any rear derailleur I want as logn as it's compatible with the cassette. so smashing a Rd to bits is not an issue as I won't lose too much cash on it.

#GMBNTech I do believe I recall Doddy turning his nose up at oil slick/rainbow colored components and hardware at a certain industry trade show that took place in EUROpe two years ago in '19 . . . Change of heart there lad? Lol New Spectral looking great! Unfortunately my 2017 alloy Transition Patrol got stolen here in San Francisco just over a month ago 😤🤬😢😭 I'm looking to replace it with a midtravel/All Mountain 29er and this bike is on the short list. The total price for the quality frame, pretty much perfect Geo in my opinion, and component selection at the various price points from the base model up to the carbon fiber 9.0 is a GREAT value compared to offerings in this category from the majority of other brands on the market. Review somebody's downhill bike (#HenryReturns ?!?!) and somebody's dirt jumper or full suspension slope style! I'm sure Blake's got 26 rear 27.5 front slopeduro mullet build somewhere in his stable, something like a Transition Suppressor ?! Love the show Cheers 🚵👍

#AskGMBNTech Hey Doddy! I really cannot understand why aren't six pot brakes a thing yet. I mean as stated in a previous video, 35 mil bars too are just for compensation to thicker stanchion tubes. Yes, there were old ones with six pistons from hope and brembo, but why aren't there any modern ones? They would probably be too powerful, but I bet those big brands could make them a little weaker, and the cooling would still be better (not even mentioning the cool factor).

@@thefloydtube no problem. It comes down to preference, a medium would be okay, maybe a bit more playful and easier to bunny hop but I can still get along fine with the L. It’s quite stable for me on chunky descents and still a bit more playful than my previous enduro bike with a similar reach. I hit jumps on it fine but maybe it requires a bit more effort compared to an M. Depends on your riding style, an M would probably be better if you like to play around on it and do jumps etc. An L provides more stability and speed in a straight line and down chunky terrain.
