I have a 1918 DB Roadster. Insured with Hagerty. They call this a model 30. Year of sale is model year not year of assemble.

Mine goes into 3rd gear no problem. You just gotta actually give it gas and use the spark advance correctly

the comment about roads being unpaved is the reason, can't go fast enough to need 3rd on rutty roads
