This eight part video series covers a tear down of the front of the 3.0L engine found in many Chrysler products. The vehicle shown is a 2000 Dodge Caravan with a serious oil leak.The front crankshaft oil seal is replaced as well as the timing belt, the water pump gasket and a cam shaft seal. You can't imagine how much time you are saving me - my back and neck are shot and knowing ahead of time what i'm getting in to ,really helps.thanks so much - i have a 95 plymouth voyager with the same 3.0 set up. very nice and clean -i got it cheap ,cause they did not want to spend a fortune doing the water pump. it will take me about a week for the job and two weeks of recoup and pain. thanks again

Just removed the air conditioner compressor. Thanks for the tip using a jam nut. Worked perfect. Onward

Wow! These are GREAT quality videos of how to do this and has convinced me...I'm going to pay someone else to do this!!! UGH. You must have the patience of Job. My hat is off to you, this will cost me $1100 bucks to have someone to do this but I'm thinking it's worth it since I have arthritis and my hands are hurting just watching you do this. But again, great job which these videos..top notch!

Hello sir, Recently got an older 84-dodge ram minivan for hauling TV parts. It previously had 4 cylinder and has been retrofitted with the Mitsubishi v6 engine from a 1988 per seller. Anyhow, I was aware of it leaking at purchase. I plan on refurbishing, it appears to be a crankshaft front seal leak but that could be inaccurate. I read where cam seals can be culprit. I will price a timing belt water pump kit and seals. Will a dye test help save time in tracing leak source?

Is it necessary to remove everything to just do the water pump? |What can I narrow it down to?

I wish I there was another way to get to the pump, but there just isn't. This is just a grueling grind of a job to get this water pump out. If you decide to do it, just take your time and expect it to take awhile.
