So your a life saver! Dealer wanted 200 for lock then programming at 150 and potentially 250 for new key. Pulled out the first three tumblers, lube up with balistol as per a locksmiths recommendation, slapped it together and it has been working all day. I had the key with transponder on the 2005 town and country. Funny thing is I had the same color bread clips from my English muffins 🤣. Thanks a ton you definitely get a subscriber!

Thanks for the help. Now I can switch on and off my car without any problems.. I did do one thing different. I had no problem with getting the key in-or-out of the switch. Often I just couldn't get it to turn. As you instructed I pulled the key switch out. The tab that's on the top was made out of plastic so I just rubbed it on the concrete until I got it flat.. Now it turns without any drag.

Somewhere in a forum i read a few years ago that there is a defect in the 3rd generation grand and caravans. It wears our the inside maybe where ignition cylinder inserts if you have too many keys or too much weight dangling, swinging over time. I've had to replace 2 of them and it is still sketchy. They lock up, or seem to slip into a groove or notch other than the normal positions. Or the engine keeps running after key turned off until you move the van a little and try it again. A real pain but almost all of the 2000 year caravans eventually have problems with this.

my Wan was broken into and they seemed to break the steering loose . No sign of lock tampering outside except the plastic covers messed with. Key goes in but maybe a quarter turn yet not enough to turn electric on nor use the shifter. Not sure if they stuck something thin in there and messed up a tumbler or what. There was never a problem with the key prior. overnight it simply stopped working , was the cops theory and the key is bad.

I have one additional question about my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan the the ABS and airbag lights come on occasionally. Which means that I can't turn the radio on or the heater/air conditioner.. Any good ideas on how to fix it without having to go to my mechanic at $95 an hour?

By now you must have solved the problem but there was a recall of the 2000 Grand Caravan for potentially dangerous airbags. I took mine in and they modified it for free in 2010 or 2012.

@@Avisado I have gotten that repair done and a couple more finished too. 🤣 Right now I am going to take out the right hand CV axel. Got a lot of heavy clacking noise.

The one thing I needed to know, which brought me to this video, was what kind of screws are holding the panel on the steering column and that's the one thing that got skipped. :(
