Good insight brother. A couple of the same things you mentioned have kept me in the Charger Scatpack. This year I decided to get a widebody because I wanted the wider tires/look and Adaptive suspension. The other thing I really like is the adaptive cruise system which is not offered on the Hellcats. Insurance, maintenance cost and extra purchase price are the things that keep me away from a Hellcat. The heelcats are really not that much faster than scats either.

Great points man! From a logical standpoint I think you hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately a lot of car buying decisions are the opposite of logical lol! Love your new widebody!

Wide body Scats are really great looking and I'll agree they make more sense to some folks financially, especially for the reasons you stated. However, a Scat is not even close to a Hellcat in terms of performance no matter how much you may tell yourself it is. Any HC owner can tell you it's a HUGE difference driving with the red key versus the driving with the black one which is basically the equivalent of a really fast Scat. No comparison!

I love when I read comments saying "the hellcat isn't much faster than a scat" 🤣🤣🤣 I had a scat and upped to a cat, and it's a huuuuuge difference. No matter how much u try to convince yourself......The 392 is bad ass, dont get me wrong, but once u get to about 50-60mph. It's a whole different ballgame.

Had mine since 2018. Starting to get weird key fob not detected issues even after swapping out the car battery and key fob batteries. Performance pages are also taking years to boot up now. But we keep them because we love the drive and performance. I love road tripping mine from Texas to South Dakota. When I'm not in the stop and go of the city I can get around 24mpg just cruising at 70-75 for a hundred miles or so. The most I got from one tank was 394 miles. So the hellcat isn't as bad as people make it out to be, it's just the city that wrecks it.

I get 16.9 mpg in my daily v6 Camaro so I don’t think that’s bad personally for a hellcat. My truck gets around 15 and my Honda gets around 30.

Man I always go back and forth with myself in upgrading, but when I drive my scat, I lose traction every now and then and think “damn imagine a hellcat” and knowing me I’ll try to get a redeye or jailbreak, but it just doesn’t seem like a smart buy over what I already have

I sincerely appreciate you answering my question! I have been going back and I’m forth if is worth getting the wide body or dynamic package or even getting stock 245 and just upgrade to 275 coming from that don’t do races occasionally.
@SchwayZ
@SchwayZ 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking a question man! Its definitely a tough choice and i think it comes down to pricing for the widebody vs narrowbody and what look you prefer. Because you can always upgrade tires to get 275s and potentially even 305s on a narrowbody.

I ordered a new 2015 Subaru WRX towards the end of 2014 and I've never had any major issues with it. I got the WRX version over the STI but I had read somewhere that Subaru said the 2.0 in my car was the fifth worse engine they had made but I've been looking and considering several vehicles really I have looked at a Nissan that was never sold in the US, a 2023 Honda Civic Type R, I had initially wanted the 2023 Nissan Z, I've test drove a 2022 Scat Pack and I'd like to drive a Hellcat just because if I'm spending that type of money I want it to be well worth it but career wise I don't really make that much money so I might lease a Hellcat and then buy it when the lease is up but I've also considered selling my WRX and getting something more affordable like anywhere from a 92-95 Civic VX hatchback but my WRX has a little over 120,xxx miles and 75% of them are highway driving and from 0 miles I'm at 32.6 MPG so pretty great for a car I've never bear on. The Scat Pack I drove was 48k new but if I get a Challenger I'd prefer a wide body but who knows what will actually happen.

Enjoy your videos and have been following you since your Scat. Curious, why only 6k miles on yours? I'm retired and have had my SPWB for 2 years now and have 8k. Needless to say, I don't drive every day. Can't say I haven't been tempted to buy a HC, but realistically I think the SPWB is the perfect car for the street.
@SchwayZ
@SchwayZ 2 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for sticking around for that long! And congrats on your SPWB! Great question. I only have 6k miles because I no longer daily drive my challenger. I used to have my toyota and now my Bronco as my daily so I usually just drive the Challenger on the weekends. Also it's hard to drive it in the winter here so that's a few months where I barely drive the car. I made a video about the topic a couple months ago in case you missed it where I discuss why I stopped driving my car. As for whether you should upgrade to a Hellcat, honestly I think the ScatPack is the perfect amount of power for the streets and daily driving. It's not so quick that you can't enjoy most of its power but it's not slow by any means. It's like the goldilocks kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp-pk5iMZceClbs

My redeye narrowbody challenger has a Number 2 cylinder failure. After a week and a half of ownership. It is brand new. has 1100 miles on it. Had 11 when I received it. What should I do? They are waiting on Stelantis to tell them what to do. In the mean time, they have my 100K. Help me. Is this rare? They say it is. I am preparing to hire a law firm.
@SchwayZ
@SchwayZ 2 жыл бұрын
I'm really sorry to hear that. I have not heard of that being an issue on Hellcat motors. I think Stellantis should certainly fix that under warranty. It may have just been really bad luck but if issues continue to happen I would look into your states lemon laws.
@phatzuk109
@phatzuk109 2 жыл бұрын
Why are you contemplating hiring a law firm? Did Stelantis refuse your warranty claim? If not, relax and let them do their thing. It definitely sucks, and will take a while to sort out unfortunately for you but they will make it right. You need to demand a loaner if you haven't done so already because you're probably looking at a month or more before you get your car back. Hope you get it sorted out quickly!

@@phatzuk109 I got it back last Saturday morning. I absolutely still love it and it's stronger than ever. I've put 700 miles on the new engine. I've run it up to about 3700 rpm now. How long before I can start pouring more power to her? Thanks! Oh, never got a loaner. Said that they were all out.
@phatzuk109
@phatzuk109 2 жыл бұрын
@@kiphorton1 So glad you got sorted out and Stelantis made it right. I recommend following the owners manual explicitly when breaking in your new motor. At 700 miles you're past the official break-in period with one caveat. Dodge recommends you "don't participate in any track events, sport driving schools, or similar events" until you reach 1500 miles. Your 'red eye" engine is built heavier duty than a regular hellcat 6.2L and should provide you plenty of trouble free thrills for years to come as long as you maintain her well. Congrats

So both are daily driveable but you will spend more on gas for the hellcat. I'd test drive a Hellcat and see if it's worth the premium for you. The ScatPack is a great overall vehicle
