I look at it like this. The RT is great if you would normally be buying aa Accord, Camry, Or any of the base Euro sedans, the RT is an awesome choice and has a way bigger trunk , bigger seats and is way more fun and feels more powerful. Also since the RT is only lowered a 1/2 inch more than a SXT, you can still drive it if you live somewhere with potholes and snow covered roads like northern Pennsylvania. The other thing is regular gas which saves me some $s. If I lived in a state with good roads and cheap gas I’d be driving a Scat.
@brandonrainbolt73829 ай бұрын
I like my RT. I don't really drive over 90 at anytime. But I do like to get there pretty quick. I do want some more power. Once the warranty is up I'm going to Whipple charge it. So I'll be close to 500 hp and have lower insurance. It's a give and take for each situation like you said.

I agree with that. Though to add, if you're looking for the modding experience, the 5.7 is the way to go. I was itching to have a Hellcat and pulled the trigger 5 months later. Although the Hellcat was a thrill to own and drive ( not as a primary car) I felt that it was like dancing the tango with a 400 pound bipolar woman. I sold it 18 months later and purchased a well equipped 2019 Charger Scat Pack with the Dynamics Package ( Hellcat brakes and wheels). the 5.7 is in my opinion the ultimate engine to build on. you get your self a comp cam some some heads and injectors, drop in forged rods and pistons maybe a crank that increases stroke and throw on a whippel twin screw and you can build a hellcat level car for a fraction of the hellcat price. i am actually working on a build with a retired police charger. it has the 5.7 HEMI and an AWD set up which is great to offset the massive weight of the charger it is a 2020 but it has the old Mercedes built NAG1 Transmission. that sounds like a downside but a built one will run you 6 grand and i can drop it in with out any modification that transmission will handle upwards of 1200 crank HP. when i get done with the build i plan to make 800 hp to the wheels and with the AWD system it should be a fun little pice of car.

Recently picked up a 2018 5.7 Destroyer grey. I have been looking at the Scat Pack for about 2 years but over and over couldn't justify the price tag. I think it is what you want. The 5.7 is a great modding platform. The 6.4 is kind of good for modding but not with boost as much. The hellcat(s) are an all out vehicle. I personally like the lower cars like the rt scat and 5.7 rt. There is much more customization opportunities that I can do. I do everything to my car and there is more of a joy to that to me than just buying the car. Point is it is YOUR car make it what you want. Ps. The rt is still very much a muscle car. It is not reslly lacking that much hp with 390hp and 410tq. That is A LOT for a street car. And the reason you get worse mpg on the redeye is that blower LOL

Any Scat pack is great as a daily driver. If you have highway miles you can get over 20+ mpg. I average 19 with (very) spirited driving. Also, get the oil catch can, can't believe how much oil it caught when i was racing. I have a 2019 scat, worth every penny. Also change stock rims or tires for more tire. 245's are not enough tire for 500hp. As soon as mine are gone I'm getting 275/40 r20 's

So glad I bought my scatpack and paid it off in 2 years and enjoy it all the time in the summer. I almost went for a hellcat but honestly.. unless you're at the track the hp is useless. My scat has to be one of the most enjoyable cars ever. I go to the track run a 12.2 on 20s and then drive home. Anyone on the street cant beleive how fast it is. Its funny were in an era where a 12.2 car is being pushed aside for high 10s haha. I love em all but the scat is ana amazing car.

Greg Phillips if you’re getting a corvette the c8 is the way to go if you can find one around 70k. If you want a c7 the stingray and z51 2019 is around 50-60k the zo6 is 80-90k and the zr1 is 100k+ the stingray and z51 will give you around the same performance as your camaro the zo6 will give you camaro zl1 performance and the zr1 will compete with redeyes gt500s and demons. I did almost the same thing, but started with a Scat Pack and then jumped to a Red Eye. I used my 2017 Scat Pack as a daily driver for 3 years before going to a Hemi Shootout, thanks Mopar... once I saw a few Hellcats and Demons, it was either I’m trying to do a supercharger upgrade or I’m looking at the new offerings from Mopar. I opted for the safest way to the horsepower I needed. You talked a little about the cost of ownership. For me personally I loved the Scat Pack, because if I would drive my mother in law, I could get 21 mpg out of that big HEMI. If I drove it like I liked to drive it, I would average about 12mpg. For the Redeye, probably the best that I have seen is 12mpg and I average around 9mpg with my normal driving. It is a thirsty machine, but you have to love the noises that it makes. All in all, I am using the Red Eye as a daily driver and love it. The Smiles per Gallon for that car are very high, even for the overall cost.

I had to fly to Ft Wayne Ind, have the dealership in a small town in NW Ohio pick me up to find my Plum Crazy T/A. Drove it back to Wisconsin and love it. I think it's the perfect true modern muscle car. Not the fastest but overall just cool. It REALLY harkens back to the original Challenger in modern form. I usually average around 17mpg under normal driving conditions(sport mode, manual shifting). IF I drive it up north on the highway I can average 21 Mpg pretty easily(normal mode/auto). Picked it up used(4k mi) for $36k at a Dodge dealership. It was a new car...and pretty much still is even now with 14k on it(I only drive it 8 months out of the year here). Still have the original tires and it's all OEM. Well...other than the catch can. THAT should have been a factory item considering the oil I get every 4k oil change.
