This is the shorter version, but full record run, of the Dodge Challenger Hellcat tearing up the ice at Årsunda Speed Weekend.
Top speed 274.56 km/h - 170.6 mph, and an average speed over 1 km on 261 km/h - 162 mph.

Firstly the speed always have a error margin versus real GPS speed. Secondly because of spinning tires on the ice, the speedometer is incorrect. The verified speed was calculated with GPS signal.

Production car world record on ice is Bentley Continental supersports Conv. 328 km/h. Second goes to Nissan GT-R 298.72 km/h on pure ice I think. To be honest, I don't think Hellcat have a chance to beat that due to traction, it's yawing even at 250+ km/h not to mention friction, the air density is high at that temperature and the Cd of Hellcat is high as well so air resistance is a problem.

+brian james Our goal was to set a world record for Dodge Challengers on ice. Pretty specific, we know but that was our goal. As a bonus it did turn out that this speed was very competetive against other speed records on ice, such as the Bentley, the RS6 or the 960hp Audi A4 that also competed in this event. Our idea from the beginning was: "Let's put a fully stock Hellcat on ice and see what it's capable of". :) No doubt this is a hell of a ride!

There is always an error margin between actual GPS speed and speedometer. GPS is most accurate, and that is what we have to use for result, even though speedo shows 300km/h at one point.
