Any idea how to get the door open if it's unresponsive? My town and country door is shut and won't open even manually....

You'll have to pull off the inner door panel and manually pull on the rod to open it. It will be a bit hard to get the panel off while the door is closed, but should be doable

@@dovidgreen9830 You would have to test first if there is power coming to the door and if power is coming to the door lock actuator. If it is, then you would need to replace the actuator. Actuator fails very often on these vehicles

Do you know if this controls anything on the van? My 2016 Dodge caravan has the power locks that failed, the sliding doors have no power and the sliding door windows wont open. The dealership took three days to tell me that the driver sliding door harness was damaged and the slider door module was offline. Would the module/harness control all the door locks in the car, plus windows and both sliding doors? I feel like they are swindling me.

It is possible. If wires are damaged, depending on which wires are damaged it will affect bunch of different things such as power locks, power windows, speakers, power mirrors, etc...Try inspecting the wiring harness by yourself and see if and where is the damage

I would say it is possible. I have an 08 with damaged wires and when one broke completely our van kept acting like it is starting and wipers would come on about every 30 seconds while driving down the road.

Yes your windows, doors won't auto lock, tailgate won't operate, auto sliding doors will not work if harness is bad.

This is the same van as the Volkswagen Routan I have a 2010 You can get more viewers by adding that to the title. I had a blown fuse and need the plastic cover over the wire. Going to try to do that now. I just ordered the plastic cover only. The wiring looks fine. There are two fuses in the fuse box. There's a video here on KZbin showing which ones they are

My harness looks exactly like this and I had the same issues with the airbag light and the windows not working. I followed the instructions step by step and my hazards came on when I finished installing the harness. Everything looks great except my door still won’t open with the button and my windows still won’t roll down. What did I do wrong? What else could be going on?

First you have to make sure all the wiring is good and there is no cracked / damaged wires. There could also be a problem with the power window motor which is inside the sliding door. I would also check the wiring behind the rubber sleeve on the driver door jam. Wires often crack there causing bunch of different things not to work

This is 7 months old but you need to check your fuses. There are two of them in the fuse box under the hood that are connected to the sliding doors. One of mine was bad and the sliding doors and the rear power windows did not work
