Dodge Grand Caravan | Starter Replacement

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan starter replacement. Maybe you'll learn something before you make the mistakes I made, maybe you won't. ;)
Tools required: Ramp or jack with jack stands, 10mm socket for battery terminals, 15mm wrench for lower and upper starter bolt. 15mm deep socket. 13mm wrench for negative cable removal from the upper starter bolt. Screw driver for removal of plastic stuff above the radiator. I think I used 10mm for the rad fan bolts and 13mm to remove the bolts from the cross beam thing above the rad.

Bro had you use 4 or 3 in extension with you deep socket 13 then 15 you wouldn't had to do extra like remove fan

You dont need to remove the fans, just use a socket and a 5" extension for the top bolt. See other videos here. Also when it clicks all it needs is a set of solenoid terminals for $9 on Ebay. Put the old one back in.

Thanks for sharing. A lot of the information helped me in my starter change out. However, I was not so willing to do the extra work of removing the cooling fans, so here is what I did, and I hope it helps someone. I found that my standard length 15mm combination wrench would just barely clear the fan motor allowing for just enough swing to grab the next nut flat on the upper bolt. However, there was not enough room to use a second box end wrench for a cheater since the bolt was very tight. So I placed the box end on the nut at the highest position, then took a 5' water key and placed the saddle over the open end of the combo wrench. Pushing straight down on the key gave me enough force to move the bolt. If you don't have a water key, try any long rod or similar device that can be positioned over the wrench without sliding off. Once that hurdle was cleared, the rest of the job went pretty well.
