We laugh but obviously people are buying them. Maybe not immediately but they're getting sold

Very true my friend. Now once it's off the lot how long can they keep the repo man or mechanic at bay is a different story. I mean I get it's their money and if they think they can afford it, let her rip, but personally I don't see how people taking out 6, 7, and 8 year loans with $800 to I've seen as high as $2000 per month with some of these, can sustain itself. I'm all for buying a new car. It's a great feeling, but that feeling only lasts until that first note comes due.

People buying these trucks are stupid $300 in interest per month. Are you effing kidding me the truck is going to depreciate by half as soon as drive out of the parking lot it’s not like it’s a home. I just purchased a house a fixer-upper for $100,000. I’m gonna put another hundred thousand dollars in the house would be worth $300,000. Please someone tell me how buying a truck for almost $100,000. I’ll gain anything from that let them rot and I hope they all go out of business.

The car I got in the 80s didn’t have a compass neither. I spent $10 at Walmart and bought the fanciest compass and stick that to the windshield along with free maps from AAA. Never lost once. People are just getting stupider and dumber these days.

When I was at FCA/Stellantis, the 4 lines I worked were the left and right hand outer aperture and the left and right rear inner doors that built for the Durango and Grand Cherokee. Fellas I give you my word I wouldn't allow a single bad or suspect part make it to my end line conveyor or end line dunnage unloads. I always approach it as would I want that on my vehicle or would I risk someone's family if they buy what this is going on??? I can't say everyone thinks like that in those plants, but even then the prices were getting out of hand so I worked accordingly. A lot of it is greed, but there's so much crap packed into these things these days along with some of the safety and fuel standards that have to be met. Apparently auto makers were/are using some of the profit to fund the EV research and development. Our wages increase with each contract, but the health insurance is a whole other story and no matter what BS others try to push, it factors in, especially that health care that we don't pay a dime towards with regards to premiums. I suspect prices will come down depending on what the Trump administration does with some of the BS fuel standards. Trust me fellas the companies are taking note. I'm at GM now and while we have done better than Ford and Stellantis, the pinch is gonna be hitting us too. It's just a matter of time. We do have a few more "economical" vehicles than the other 2, but not by much, and that's if you're interested in a GM. Plus I'm thinking we gained a few more customers after the debacle with Stellantis. What's crazy is even working for the company, I'm looking at a Subaru for my next vehicle simply because they're number 1 in reliability now. I would love to buy something we make, specifically a GMC Canyon, but no V6 and a $50,000 price tag are driving me to Subaru. I have my eye on a pretty nice 2024 Crosstrek. Thing has all the bells and whistles too at a $28,000 sticker. Still a bit much for what the vehicle is, but I can work with it. Godspeed out there gentlemen and Merry Christmas.

I don't get it myself either. I'm not a fan of how they look either. I worked for Stellantis. I went to GM in September and hired in with a few electricians that worked at Warren Truck where the Wagoneer's are built. That was right around when the company announced they were cutting 2 shifts there. We had 4 or 5 electricians come from Warren, while I'm still the only one from Jefferson North. One of the guys was telling me when the first Wagoneers were rolling off the line, they had to rework and/or scrap the vehicle for any number of defects. Something like the first 40 or 50 off the line. From what he told me once they came off the line, they just took a forktruck and slid the forks right under the truck.

Manufacturers are making a killing selling to dealers. If you don't buy, neither will dealers and dealers will be forced to reject vehicles at that price range from the manufacturer.

@@mc4277 You're dismissing a vehicle based on number of cylinders. Horsepower is horsepower. There are several ways to make it. Frankly I was never impressed with the Hemi V8. It was little more than a marketing gimmick. Anyway, this is 2024, not 1994. Six cylinder engines aren't what they used to be. The Hurricane should be given a fair shot. Hopefully its reliable.
