GlastronRules may i ask where did you find your replacement heater core...my wife has the exact same vehicle year model and all....im about to try the flush but not too confident that will work...did you have to cut anything like suggested in the vid ? I would really like to know because I refuse to pay 1800 for a new core from the dealership

Did my sons 2010 Dodge Journey today. I drilled a small hole in the lower tube 1st so draining would be easier to catch.

Hi, I’m having the same issue with a 2010 journey that I just bought. Coolant temperature seems to be good, actuator doors are working, looks like I’ll have to do the same heater core replacement that you did. My question is, did you have to bleed the cooling system after doing this repair? Would hate to use this short cut and overheat and damage the engine. Thanks

Yeah you want to completely drain then fill back up, and belch it I beleive they call it, leave lid off as you run to get air out, there's a youtube video on it from Chris fix

I have a 2012 Crew 3.6 and it gets cold after a while on the passenger side. Drivers side stays more than warm but not HOT. Wondering if my heater core is clogged or I have a stuck door actuator.
@jacktrade37467 жыл бұрын
Kevin Pugh I’m thinking it’s an actuator if your getting heat core is prob working you can check and see those actuators look up your parts manual or online and have someone change settings and watch to see if they move I checked all of mine as well and they worked hope you find issue

Im hoping it is. How much was your core? Im hoping I can do the same fix you did if it comes to it.
@jacktrade37467 жыл бұрын
95 bucks for core, with clamps and hose like 105 all together.

Hi. Did you end up fixing your problem? I have the same vehicle, year, trim and the same heat problem as you.

Glad I saw this video...my journey is only blowing cold air, occasionally warm and so my task this weekend is to try to figure it out what the problem is. But at least I know I can get it done because there is no way I would pay that much for someone to fix it when I can do it myself. I replaced the engine oil filter housing adapter just a few months ago because of a major oil leak so this should be a piece of cake compared to that. Thanks

Desirae Mendez let me know if you have any questions good luck I’ll be posting a video because most likely your brake lights will get stuck on, because of a sensor I’ll show u where it’s at and how to fix in a video

I seriously want to try this I'm fed up working on my wife's journey! Did you have any heat at all? She only has heat on the drivers side and that's after I flush it, it only lasts about a week and it's cold again! Ugh!
