If you want to save a bit of money you can fill up and charge the A/C in your Dodge Journey by yourself. First time you do it it will take you a bit longer, but once you learn all the steps it is literally a 5 minute process. And well worth it.
To recharge the AC you will need the a/c recharge kit which is sold at most of car part stores and retail stores. Screw the a/c refrigerant can onto one side of the air condition charge hose and connect other side of the hose to the air conditioning low pressure charging port. Then pierce the ac can with the screw attached to the hose. Start the vehicle and turn on the air conditioning, air circulation in the cabin and set the blower to the highest setting. Go outside and slowly release the freon into the car a/c system. Make sure to keep checking the gauge to not overfill the system. Also keep checking the air being blown from the air ducts if it is any cooler. Depending on the amount of the a/c refrigerant in your Dodge Journey system you might need half a can, 1 can or maybe even 2 ac cans if the system is completely empty.
If you have a minor leak in the a/c pipes, you can try filling the a/c system with a stop leak solution which will seal the minor ac refrigerant leaks. If you have a major leak or a/c compressor problems you will have to take your vehicle to a mechanical shop for a proper diagnostics.
