@@patrickgrogan4986 Oh man that's a long time, most parts I gotten from them had a longer time than the normal from mainstream stores but it's understandable since they custom built and well I didn't mind because of the quality of the product but 4 months that's longer than normal, what did they say when you contacted them? (mine was about about a month if it that helps)

I really thought about it, but the price just a little high (IMHO) so I went with the FWD built transmission. I had tried to rebuild my own, and it grenaded catastrophically :( I put my new transmission in with my "new" clutchmaster's stage 3 clutch only to find out my 500 dollar clutch (with 100 miles on it) was ruined due to ATF contamination, slipping BAD. I had to remove the transmission a second time in a week and order a new clutch from clutchmasters. It's been 2 weeks and so far things are holding together, I'm at about 200 miles out of 500 needed to break in the clutch. I paid 2,600 dollars for my transmission build, but it's not rated for more than basically the stage 3 mopar package. Good for me, that's what I'm after. And you are right, the T850 is getting VERY rare.

Hi Roo! I think FWD is good alternative to the DCR transmission, specially like you said if you don't need it to be built to its limits I think the FWD one will be more than enough for most people. I have rebuilt my tranny but the internals the actual shafts I had them rebuilt by DCR, that's another option for those who don't mind putting it together themselves, I have another video covering how I did mine, stay tuned bud and thanks for watching!

how is this motor holding up. I am using fwd performance (I assume same as you) but I am getting the liberty billet shaft with 1/2 gear. Pretty much top level transmission to handle the power. Im excited but always nervous. This is costing 5k though.

@@JustFixinGarage - Well, it shifts like a truck still (always did right?) and has the third gear vibration that is apparently fairly common when you use the 3rd gear extender. According to the tag on this one, it has a new mopar input shaft, new 1 2 3 and 4 forks, a hardened 3-4 clip, new tomken differential bearings, new mopar axle seals, and the modified extender for 3rd gear. I believe all the carbon synchros 1-5 are also new, it's just written in a weird way on the tag. I did my first 500 miles light, to break in the clutch, I have done a couple of decent rips now, so far so good, tomorrow we leave for Minneapolis, for Mopars in the Park this weekend, that will be a 6 hour drive, so the first long test. But honestly that's not much of a test, highway driving at normal speeds is easy peasy for the transmission, it's when you get on it hard that is the real test, and so far not enough of that to make a full verdict. But... very promising.

@@JustFixinGarage - nope, not at all. Probably not a coincidence that New Venture Gear went belly up in 2012 lol. I was really bummed when I "fixed" the transmission myself in 2018 and had it blow up a week later. Hence letting it sit for like 2 and a half years, was pretty disappointed. I'm excited about my trip tomorrow, my son is 11 and I think he's going to have a blast.

Hi gszman! Yeah! it actually still going strong and I was finally filming part 2 when my PCM decided to take a dump, so I'm going to send it out for repair, once the computer is fixed I should be able to complete part 2 (long overdue!) with my final thoughts on the Tranny, stay tuned bud!

Hi Mario! It's still going strong, I started filming part 2 of this review as well (finally!) I will look at my records to see what the wait time was, but also contact Darrell and he can give you an idea before hand if he has any in stock or if it will have to build to order (mine was build to order) which would determine lead time, but yeah imo it was worth the wait. Hi Danny Millan, for some reason I missed out on considering Liberty when I picked the DCR option, I think I wasn't aware of them but so far I had great results with the DCR. I have another video coming where I go over the options for rebuilding the tranny, will definitely look into them. Thanks for watching buddy!

i went liberty with straight 1/2 gear. I am also going to have upwards of 700HP in the end. 550 rating wouldn't cut it for me.

@@srtfernie5975 some people dont want to daily drive on a dog box though. I can see that the dcr trans is alot for people when you can build your own with straight cut gears and such but some people choose a different route

why didnt you tell us the wait time? How long did it take from payment to recieve it? should have went liberty dog box . Thats the real SRT4 transmission. its in the 5 speed record holder car

5 speed car, Bogdan's car is not a dox box just has a input shaft. Besides you won't be running even 10 seconds any time soon so you don't need a dog box.
