At last, after 12 minutes in this video, you switched. Now on, two third of my screen are not blurred ! Thank you! That is a great improvement. I watched all your videos anyway but it is a lot more comfy now.

Your first engine rebuild is always akin to heaven. It really feels great, even when you're sick and it doesn't matter shit from shinola, that's YOUR engine and no matter how many you do, how complicated, or how big and powerful, nothing will ever compare. Congratulations. On the rope seal; offset each one an equal amount, I generally try to set them up about 15° off center.

What I like most about this build is he is not building a trailer queen. This will look like a Survior truck and not a rat rod
@partsandresto3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul, that’s exactly the idea.

its great not a shelf queen a good old survivor

Love the video Dave. I'm doing a similar restoration on a '52 Power Wagon with a goal of it having solid, reliable mechanicals and an old survivor look, no concours restoration for me either. Keep up the great work and keep sharing those videos.

Dave, you doubt yourself too much - those welds are just fine - compared to what they were before! The main criterion is a blind man on a galloping horse - if he can't see it, it's good to go. Wish I'd been following this live, but I don't do Instagram, so I'm looking forward to Episode #7...

Dave, I ended up putting in a remote master cylinder reservoir on my '56. I pressure bleed them with a motive products pressurized thing. Way easier than pumping the pedal three times then realing the master cylinder is out of fluid.... If you make a gasket for the cap use EPDM rubber. It stands up against brake fluid. Good job!!

up until the seventies, lead, like solder, was used to fill seams and gaps for its easy forming properties and is usually smoothed with a wooden wedge dipped in wax.

U-joint "yokes" are what those driveline parts are called. The short driveline sections are the "stub shafts". Not trying to sound like a "know it all" just 55 years experience talking. Cheers!

You're doing well for a beginner. Might I suggest that you check out the 1960 Plymouth Fury daily driver project on Coldwarmotors on You Tube because Scott can show you much in the way if matching panels and welding

those are not "shakles" they're called slup yokes..... don't know why, but because as the suspension flexes, the driveshafts ( prop shafts) grow and shorten in length which is obvious once you think about it, but unless you know to think about it you never will
@harry73612 жыл бұрын
slip yokes not slup yokes. Isnt auto correct grand?

Love the content but you need to not use that 3 screen. It makes the video almost unwatchable and causes motion sickness.

At 21:30 I will tell you the truth, I HATE BONDO! Another small bead will work so much better. Bondo tends to break out with vibration of driving .
