Bit of an emergency if you could help. Recovered my truck from a “buddy” who’s no longer a buddy and he ended up deleting the truck and installed a tuner (not sure of what kind). When I recovered the truck, tuner was removed. I’m not sure what he did or didn’t do with it. To be on the safe side I was going to buy a tuner but I need tunes. Anyway you can point me in the right direction. Trying to hit the road in a week and need to know the trucks not going to go into limp mode if he deleted the tune or flashed it back to stock to screw with me. Turns on fine and sounds ok but afraid to drive it

You selected “stock”. Judging by that exhaust, sounds, and puff of smoke- I would guess some deletes have been performed but obviously I can’t tell that. Is it deleted and can you provide an update on the drive ability of that time? Thanks

I selected "Stock" Because when it goes back to the tuner, there is nothing done to the vehicle. No turbos, no injectors, etc. Hardparts / engine parts are all stock. That being said, when the tunes were purchased the flag for "emission not present" was selected. As for drivability, I have done countless of these trucks. its the difference of going from a Prius to a hot rod, obviously with a TON of weight still lol. But yes it drives better than stock, better shift points, better fuel mileage, longer life throughout the drive train. You name it and it'll improve it. Feel free to ask anymore questions!

josh laroche we have intact tuning, so you leave everything in place, the truck will stop using DEF. (win win for most) if you want delete tuning you’ll need to remove exhaust and replace it with aftermarket. That being said we’ve never had warranty issues and 9/10 times have been able to get work completed on our trucks. But it is against warranty policy.. the best practice is to tune the truck back to stock before being it to a dealership.

The tuning shuts off the EGR. So you can either do a full delete or just leave it be.

Kaptain Hook you can unplug the Ezlynk after install. You can also use it on more than 1 truck but you’ll need to buy a 2nd tune pack for it

I just did this system and put a flo pro exhaust. Does the def gauge go to 100% after? And my fuel filter life on my dash showed almost 100% before I did all of this, now its shows less than 25%. Any ideas?

So sometimes, at least with EFI Live ive seen it happen a lot, it resets the system and will change your fuel filter / oil life. I would just reset it if you knew that it was at 100% before the tuning / deletes. Also yes your DEF will go back to 100% on the older tunes it would show an empty tank, now it shows full. you can always have the tuner change it to wherever you want it to show!

Dylan Hoffpauir I’m not exactly sure what you mean by tune before you delete. If you’re talking about intact tuning vs delete tuning there is absolutely 0 difference on the trucks health. We’ve deleted trucks with as low as 100 miles on the OD and as high as 150k. For longevity of the truck it’s best to do it early before the emissions stuff breaks the truck.

Yes we deleted the exhaust, but left the EGR in. We did this because if he ever needed to go back to stock, or wanted to pass emissions it would be much easier to accomplish.

jimmy burt yes HPP allows for free tune adjustments. So I don’t believe you would have to pay anything extra but yes you can go from intact tuning to full deletes with the tuner. I can get you pricing if you need!

no, there is a return to stock file though in the case you ever need to return to stock. we usually throw the tunes on before we take out the exhaust etc, but it doesn't matter all that much in what order you end up going in

Miguel depends on the year of truck. 17+ I believe you have to leave in to make tune adjustments because it actually tunes through the diag port

Sabino Marcos Rendon you need the ezlynk plugged in to see the gauges on your phone. I always leave it in because it’s easier than plugging it in and unplugging it.

TexHD 2000 yes it’s more for just the tuner to know if he needs to account for any modifications. So since it is just delete you can put stock or deleted. Doesn’t matter!

On this specific truck we just unplugged the EGR, we didn't do the full deletes in case he had to go back to emissions compliant. There is no negative effect besides carrying dead weight. On my 2018 I left the EGR in as well until I got my 2nd gen swap then I took everything out. Thanks for all your questions! I do have a video on how to delete the EGR on a 2015 truck I believe it is. So definitely check that out if you are taking yours out and need help!

So under the hood you need to unplug the throttle valve. Thats really it. you can leave the EGR in place etc and drive the truck just like normal.
