Really like your truck !!! I have to say the best piece on my 2005 is the 1952 Dodge Ram Hood Ornament. One would look good on your truck. If you can find one??

Excellent video. I throw codes when the weather changes. I have a gen 3 dodge just like you, I will refer to this video if it happens again. Hey, you said you installed a fuel/air monitor and I’m curious about that because I get TERRIBLE gas mileage. I got the 4.7. Any input would be appreciated, thanks again. 👍👍

If you don't have any codes I would worry about the fuel / air gauge. I have a tune on my 5.7 The gauge just allows me to keep an eye on the two during driving conditions.

@@TRRehab thanks. I've got 4.7 and no codes. I'm fixing to change the oxygen sensors because it's WAY overdue. I'm hoping that helps me, have a great day my brother.

Hi. Where is the purge valve solenoid located in a 2017 Ram 1500?

Thanks for checking out my videos. I listed to links below. I also have the Ram SRT10 as well as the lower Ram that I gave to my son. Everything on the gold truck are original SRT10 parts purchased from 2xbuilders.com .... Subscribe if you haven’t. I’ll be adding quite a few ram videos. www.x2builders.com/parts.asp?catid=RAM%20SRT10&main=parts&subid=na www.viperpartsrackamerica.com/index.php/categories/srt10-ram-truck

OMG, what happened when you tested back to the charcoal cannister?
@TRRehab3 жыл бұрын
You'll have to do a visual from the LDP to the canister. There are 2 elbow fittings on top of the canister that have a tendency to degrade over time. Between the purge valve and the LDP.... Disconnect each end, connect vacuum to one of the ends making sure the other end is capped off. If it does not hold vacuum your leak is somewhere in between. A good starting point would be where the exhaust down pipe passes the vacuum line. Hope that helps and please subscribe if you have not.

The manifold side on my purge valve solenoid is holding vacuum but the canister side of the purge valve looses vacuum. I don't really understand why only one side is loosing vacuum. I don't see anyone testing the canister side of the purge solenoid with a vacuum pump so is it considered a valid test? Everyone only vacuum tests the manifold side
@TRRehab3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I’m not a mechanic but I do have the 2003 1500 5.7 and the 2004 Ram SRT10. You shouldn’t get a vacuum on the other side because your canister has a vent value that would need to be plugged. To test the hose from the purge valve to the canister. Unplug the hose coming from the purge valve at the canister and plug it. Unplug the hose at the purge valve and now check vacuum. If it does not hold you most likely have a leak somewhere in that line. 9 times out of 10 if it doesn’t hold the leak will be in the area where the the exhaust down pipe is closest to the hose. I have another video testing the leak detection pump. If that test passes there are 2 fittings on top of the canister that are almost always decaying. Please subscribe if you haven’t.

@@TRRehab I'm talking about removing the hose from the canister side of the purge valve then putting the vacuum gauge on the canister port of the purge valve and pulling vacuum on the purge valve from the canister side. That's where mine looses vacuum but if I put vacuum on the manifold port of the purge solenoid it holds vacuum perfectly.
@TRRehab3 жыл бұрын
Also, make sure you disconnect the purge valve from the computer when doing this test. If you getting a purge valve circuit code it could be your computer. I could recommend a company to repair your computer for less $300 if you need.

@@TRRehab I had the purge valve completely removed from the car the electrical part works perfectly fine I just don't know if both sides of the valve are suppose to hold vacuum or not I'd send a pic if I could on here
