WE RECCOMEND USING THE METRA DASH KIT WHICH WE WILL ATTACH A LINK BELOW. WE ALSO HAD TO CUT OUT THE REAR OF THE DASH TO ACCOMMODATE THE SONY DOUBLE DIN. How do you keep all the speakers including the center dash and subwoofer with one aftermarket amplifier don't need crazy bass or sound just a step up from stock

You could have used an iron and wax paper. Melt those tabs down while pressing the faceplate on. Get cool air on it right after pressing down to keep it in place without it “sagging” back out.

So would you need the amp bypass for the infinity system if your new radio has a built-in amplifier?

Not necessarily if you want to keep the Infinity speakers and amplifier you're more than welcome to do that. Most people bypass them and put new speakers in the vehicle because the speakers are usually dry rotted and the amplifiers go bad very quickly. In my opinion it's just great to just go ahead and replace the radio, amplifier, and put new speakers in it at the same time. That way you're not backtracking

Those pieces that came through from the aftermarket bezel should be melted down, the same as the factory did it. Your solution works too, but I hope that it does not start to rattle at some point.

How did you get your hand in there to disconnect the harness from the factory amp? Did you have to take apart the whole dash to easily access those wires? I even tried having my kids get their arms in their but were unable to pull the harness from the factory amp.

It was a complete nightmare and cut up my hands. The best way to do it is to loosen the bolts or take them out completely so you can swivel the amp around to make it easier to get your hands on the harness

Why do all the aftermarket radios want to bipass the factory amp? Why cant we incorporate the amp?

You can incorporate the amp but we wanted to do something much better with an aftermarket amp with more power

Do I need that amp bypass to install an aftermarket head unit amp will not turn on and power the speakers everything else works 05 Dodge Ram SRT-10

If your amp is working fine no you don't need to bypass it. But if the amp is not turning on there could be something wrong? I would definitely check your blue wire or blue with white stripe to see if that is sending a signal to the amplifier to turn it on.

Cool thanks for the response the crazy thing is if I plug the factory stereo back in and then disconnected and reconnect the aftermarket stereo it will work but if you turn the truck on the volume turns off and will no longer work after that I have all three blue wires wired together

@@zombiedad1830 you might want to contact Metra electronics technical support hotline. They might be able to fix the issue very quickly. There is three different models of amplifiers that come in those trucks. That could be the reason why it's doing that and they probably have a very fast and easy fix for it
