It won't meet emission standards and while legendary back then, modern engines have eclipsed the elephant. Case in point. Not an original equipment cast 426 has ever clocked a 5.88 @ 256mph even on nitro, but a little 4.6 4V has. Not a oe cast hemi has won overall Sick Week, Tx2k24, Import vs Domestic and set the drag and drive radial record 6.26 @ 227mph on race gas, driven 1,000 miles on the street, but the Coyote platform has. No factory cast HEMI has set the standing mile world record 300.4 mph but a prepped oe cast 5.4L 4V did in 2019. Lastly, no factory sealed/built 426 has run a 7.7 @ 181 mph...factory sealed coyotes have. The muscle car era engines are no longer king.

I am very happy that Dodge finally will build something that people actually want to buy. A smaller non Hemi engine V8 is actually pretty dang cool. First thing I think of is like a modern interpretation of the 340 V8 from at least from a marketing standpoint. The Charger with a V8 option or options along with a V6 is pretty cool imo and will make a lot of buyers happy. Especially from the standpoint that insurance premiums would be lower on a smaller V8 instead of a Hemi and like most Dodge fans we will always do some mods to make it to our own. Not every V8 has to be an insane HP monster that only a select few can afford. Build a more budget friendly smaller V8 with a stick shift option at a price point that the average guy or young guy starting out can afford. I bet if Dodge built a simpler 2 door 325hp V8 with three pedals WITHOUT all the gadgets that most of the time cause reliability problems at a price point of $25-35k that is a modern interpretation of a Road Runner, Duster, OG Demon 70-71, Coronet, Dart etc. they would sell insanely well. I am sure a 4 door option on the same platform that can be had with a V6 or V8 would tap into a segment that is ruled by Camrys and Accords would be very competitive if the execution is done correctly and it’s a legit Dodge product and not some rebadged model like the Hornet. Dodge may actually have a winner in their line up. If Dodge ever sees this I would scream to them, MAKE A SOLID, GOOD LOOKING, NEW DESIGN PLATFORM THAT CAN BE A 2DOOR, 4 DOOR, SUV, THAT IS PRICED FOR THE AVERAGE BUYER WITH A V6, V8 FOR THE MASSES, WITH A STICK SHIFT, AUTOMATIC, WITH A 3 TRIM LEVELS THAT IS PRICED BETWEEN $30-45K AND YOU WILL SELL CARS AGAIN! GIVE US OPTIONS TO FILL OUR NEEDS INSTEAD OF DECIDING FOR US AND GETTING IT WRONG AS USUAL. BUILD WHAT WE WANT AND NOT WHAT YOU THINK WE WANT. INSTEAD OF PAYING CEOs $40 MILLION SALARIES TO RUN YOUR COMPANY INTO THE GROUND THAT ANY IDIOT CAN DO, PUT SOME MONEY INTO YOUR CARS AND EVERYONE WILL MAKE MONEY.

A quick means to get a future Viper back into production: Create a V10 Hemi. Dodge already has the engineering specs of the 5.7, 6.2, 6.4 Liter V8 hemis, it could very much be easy to utilize these engines as a starting point & add two more cylinders, & stretch the geometry of everything. @@foxxrider250r The old RB and B motors in the 60s and 70s were referred to as "Wedge" engines because of the shape of the combustion chambers. Similar to how the Hemi got its name. If a new v8 is truly in production, they may be calling it the wedge engine as a callback to old school muscle.

long time no see sir! a few hours after the video tk posted about dodge bringing a v8 back, he made another talking about dodge maybe using the 3.9 TT engine from the california t. now THAT would be interesting to see! dodge can swap the headers for some UEL headers and the firing order with a voodoo gt350 style flatplane crank to keep the american sound and maybe beef it up and give it bigger turbos. the most powerful version of that 3.9L TT v8 is in the sf90 is 769hp by itself (786hp by itself in the XX), which is pretty close to hellcat territory, and im sure it go further without the hybrid system. if they use the sf90/sf90 XX's hybrid system, itll go well over 1000hp. they could also use the 4.3L NA v8 from the normal californias as a lower trim model, they still make more power than the current 5.7, 6.4, and the hurricane SO (the 3.9 in the california t beats the hurricane HO at 553hp vs 540hp). maybe they chef up these two and the v8 they were working on from the video you made last year and give us all three. thatd be interesting

They should rededign the New Gen that's was in the older Rams! How about a 4.7l for cars? I guess back then, it would have gotten more buys than the 5.7!

They'll probably do what Ford did with the Godzilla 7.3 and base it losely off the GM LS. If that is the case, it'll be a great starting point. Hopefully, they'll use 4 bolt mains with cross bolts.

I’d assume they would implement the new V8 similarly to how ford does with the 5.0 Coyote and 3.5 Ecoboost in their lineup

Another 2-3 years may be too late to be honest there may be no more Dodge, dealerships haven’t had a Charger or Challenger to sell in a year and the EV Charger won’t be available until mid 2025
