Three things I can tell you about running a multi-strike ignition from experience: 1: You WILL need to run a heavy-duty cap & rotor set. (Brass terminal) 2: You SHOULD run it with a high-amperage charging system, because they eat amperage like you won't believe! =:O 3: You MUST run it with a low-resistance "quick-rise" ignition coil, so as to prevent delay in spark delivery and not hinder the system's performance! }:( And, as extra measure.... 4: Running a high-durability plug gapped to the stock ignition specs of the application in question will achieve a 30,000-mi. life out of all the secondary ignition components. And, on a factory EFI app, garner a 20% increase in fuel mileage. ;)

I am having a similar problem with my truck. I’m gonna go through all this but I’m pretty sure the distributor is gonna be messed up

where is the vacuum capsule on that distributor, i've saw no one, if that distributor comes from a lean burn system, it is a fixed advance distributor and not suitable to use on a conventionnal non computerized ignition system

What's the firing order for this motor I'm not a mechanic but trying to figure it out

Number 1 is just after 6 o clock position on the distributor. Then the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 in clockwise rotation

Fram oil filter! Wtf..Napa sells wix filters. Just sayin

I agree wix filters are a better filter, but the local auto parts store had a clearance sale on Fram filters and I jumped on it.
